After Maze apologized to Elena, I dragged all of the girls to the pool side to get to know each other. We have two new female ranked members today, and I am over the moon to get to know them.
"Alright, so we have two new members coming into our pack today, so I want to know more about you two!" I tell them as we sit down with drinks. All of us got some kind of soda. Both of the new girls look at each other and then back at me.
"What would you like to know about us, Luna Queen?" Elena asks formally.
"Psst, girl, just call me Kiara. I don’t like the titles and shit. I wish everyone would call me by my name, but I know we have to withhold a distance in some way."
"Uhm, okay. Well, I am a former rogue, I guess, and I came from a toxic pack. The Gamma’s are my second chances, and I don’t even know why they accepted me other than their wolves and mine mated before we could stop them." Elena says with a shrug. I look at her, trying to get a sense of her personality, but to me she seems so genuinely sweet and warm.
"What happened at your old pack, if you don’t mind me asking?" Calliope asks, and Elena explains how her mate rejected her after her own sister manipulated him and the entire pack to hate her guts. She told the pack Elena was jealous of her and always had been, and that she was trying to steal her sister’s mate. When Elena turned to her mate, he didn’t defend her. He told her to stop trying to ruin their lives. His father, who was still the Alpha, banished her on the stop. She got 20 minutes to pack her belongings, but she had seen this coming and had packed in advance. The Alpha’s son had rejected her the night before, just to go and mate and mark her sister the same night. It was a double heartbreak, and I was fucking LIVID! How the hell could they do this to an innocent woman?! What the fuck is wrong with people?! And why would the Moon Goddess break down all of the ranked women of this pack?! The only one I know who has not some shitty past behind her is Sophie.
"How about you, Callie?" Sophie asks, and Calliope swallows.
"Well, I am a fae and cousins with Alastair, as you know." Elena sticks her finger in the air.
"I don’t?!" She says with a smile, and Calliope explains her background and how she has been disowned by the King and Queen just like her cousin, but opposite Alastair who was disowned for being mated to a wolf, she was disowned because she was still in close contact with Alastair.
"That’s a ridiculous reason to disown someone! You can’t help who you are mated to, and why they hell would they throw you out just because you aren’t as blind as them?" Elena asks hotly, angry on Callie’s behalf. I laugh internally loving the way the girls are bonding.
"So, Kiara. You are not a wolf?" Elena says after she has raved about the stupidity of Alastair’s family and feeling immensely sorry for Callie. I shake my head.
"No, I’m a fox shifter." I answer with a shrug. She stares at me, and I am expecting her to be very uncomfortable with having a Luna who is not a wolf, but instead she gives me her biggest smile!
"You’re fox were so beautiful and badass standing up to the Alpha like you did! I am forever in your debt." Elena says, and I wave her off.
"Eh, it was nothing. We can’t have Alpha asshole think he is high and mighty all the time." I say, making the girls laugh.
"You call him Alpha asshole?" Elene and Callie ask in unison, and I just blow my finger nails.
"All the time, especially when he gets way too cocky for his own good." They roll over laughing this time.
"Are you ladies talking about me?" Maze asks coming over, and now all of us are rolling over in utter belly aching laughter.
"Maybe." I say, smirking at him. He raises an eyebrow, picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. Then he proceeds to throw me in the pool.
"AAAH! What the fuck, Maze!" I scream when I emerge from the bottom of the pool. He is hubbled over on the edge of the pool. I look behind them and then smirk, getting out of the way. Maze looks at me.
"Awe, come now my Queen, it was just for.. AAAH!" He screams when Sophie promptly pushes him into the pool. I laugh swimming away from the spluttering mess.
"SOPHIE!" He shouts, but she just sticks her tongue out at him. Just then Alastair picks her up and jumps in the pool with her. Sophie smacks him when they are above water, but she is laughing her ass off. The rest of the guys, Callie and Elena, get in as well, and then we are playing chicken. It’s me against Callie and Elena against Sophie. The winners will go against each other.
We’re having such a good time, and attracting quite a crowd.
"COME ON, LUNA!"
"NO! GET HER GAMMA!" It’s me against Elena, and we are going at it like it’s life or death. People are shouting and betting on who is going to win. Both me and Elena are laughing so much, and we are pretty equal.
"You can do it, sweetheart!" Jon and Jasper shout to Elena, while the twins cheer me on. Callie and Sophie are on the edge of the pool with Alastair and Kristian between their legs. Leon is sitting beside Callie, while Jasper and Jon are on the other side of Sophie.
"AAH!" Elena asks. When her mates called to her, she momentarily lost her concentration and you bet I took the advantage when I got.
"HA! That’s right! I am the champion!" I shout before diving backwards into the water. Maze picks me up by my legs and wraps them around him.
"Good job, baby." Maze says, pecking my lips. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Just then the kitchen Omega’s call that dinner is ready. We move out of the pool and over to the BBQ area to sit down at the main table. People are filing around sitting at the rest of the many picnic tables and on the ground. There is so much food, and everyone here brought something from home. I look at Maze and he smiles.
"I may have mindlinked the pack about a BBQ night." He says, as the Omega’s brings over trays with different salads and meats. This was absolutely heaven!
Maze stands up, clinking his glass.
"Silver Moon pack! I am so happy to see so many of you tonight. We have some exciting news to share. As most of you already have guessed, we have found not only the Beta female Calliope today, but the Gamma female, Elena, as well. They are going to be great additions to our pack, and to their mates! I want you to treat them with respect and love, just as you do with everyone else. On another notice - Jamen and Ryan please stand up!" They do as he asks. "Take a good look at these guys. They are now high ranking Omega’s and they are working directly with me and your Luna. James being Luna Kiara’s personal assistant, and Ryan being a photographer and SoMe worker for the pack. They are also mates, and if anyone has a problem with that they can take it up with me or Kiara. We are not going to discriminate against ANYONE! Am I clear?"
"YES ALPHA!" Everyone shouts. James and Ryan are both blushing.
"Great! Enjoy the evening, party and mingle. We are here to have fun and bond. Please feel free to come by and say hi." Maze ends his little speech, and then sits down again. I drag him in for a passionate kiss. I am impressed by this change and I am hella proud of him!
The rest of the night we are laughing, eating, dancing and swimming with each other and pack members. This is a good night, and I hope it’s just one in many to come.
When the party eventually ends, we all go our separate ways, and Maze picks me up and carries me to our room.
"I have plans with you little mate." He says seductively, making me wet in an instant. Oh how this night indeed is going to end with a happy ending! Maybe even several.
