Chapter 141: Chapter 141 Family Surprise
Chase’s POV
I can’t believe I’m a dad. But at the same time, it feels so right. Like everything is falling into place.
When Maze called with the news of Amber’s return, and the fact she had children with her, I made arrangements for our return. I was not sure if she was going to come back with me, or finish the rejection, but I knew I had to be ready if she chose to come back. It was going to be a surprise for my Queen and my Princesses. Blaze has approved everything I planned, and I couldn’t wait to show them what I did.
"The other Kings have arrived as well, your Majesty. They have been waiting to meet you, but Sigma Ezra and Princess Merida have been entertaining them to the best of their abilities. I personally informed them of what transpired here, and why you and the Prince were in absence." Berions says as we walk down the familiar family wing of the castle.
"They have been quartered in the guest wing as instructed, and some of them have been inquiring about the arrest and escape of your father. I chose to tell them to wait until your return for an explanation. Some of the older noblemen from the other Kingdoms were not satisfied with that answer, of course." Berions sighs.
"You’ve done well, Berion. Thank you!" He blinks a couple of times, before smiling.
"I think that’s a first, despite my many years in this realm."
"What is?"
"A thank you from the King. Well, a sincere thank you, that is." I lift an eyebrow, but right then we arrive at my father’s old quarters.
I turn with Melody half asleep in my arms. The teleportation has taken its toll on her.
"What are we doing here, Chase?" Amber asks me, her eyes filled with disdain. She recognized the doors from our tour the day she arrived. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"I have a surprise for you, my Queen. Open the door." I answer with a sweet smile. Blaze’s eyes are dancing in amusement at her tone of voice, and I know she’ll think I have completely lost my marbles by now.
Amber moves to the door, looking at me like I’ve gone off the rail without any chance of coming back into sanity. I can’t wait to see her face when that door opens.
As the doors slide open, Amber gasps. She spins around to look at me, and this time her eyes are filled with disbelief, wonder, and happiness.
"Chase, is this what I think it is?" She asks unshed tears in her eyes and a smile tugging on her beautiful mouth. I nod, and gesture for her to go in.
"But how? When? Why?" fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"When your brother called to inform us you were back from Keres’s world, he also told us you had the girls with you. I had a feeling this was going to be very important, so I decided to have the different rooms in this wing made into the family rooms they were always meant to be." She smiles a radiant smile that makes my heart flutter, and everything in me screams in happiness. She’s my everything, and I hope she’ll understand just a small part of that in this little gift for her and our children.
"So, this is our room?" She asks, looking between Blaze and me.
"This is the room for us three, yes," I answer, and she walks around touching everything. The room is big, bigger than my old rooms - the master bedroom for the King and Queen.
The room is divided by a screen, on one side there is a king size four poster bed, with bedsheets in a purple and blue color. The whole room has been repainted in a warm creme color, and all the sheets, pillows, etc are held in the purple and blue color scheme. On either side of the bed, there are bed tables in the same dark color as the bed. At the end of the bed, there is a small couch for dressing in the morning.
On the other side of the screen in the middle of the room, there is a breakfast table big enough for the three of us, and two children’s chairs to accommodate our little family. I have had that side of the room made into a breakfast nook, and living space. On the other side of the table is a couch facing the wall, and on the wall is a TV. A dvd, and gaming consoles are hooked to the TV, so we can retreat back to this room and enjoy some time alone together.
At the side where the bed is there are two doors. One leads to the bathroom, which had been remodeled to accommodate all three of us as well, and I know the workers have used a lot of magic to make this happen in the short timespan I gave them. But they did it, and it looks amazing. All signs of my treacherous father are gone.
The other door leads to a walkin closet. The closet is filled with clothes for all of us, but mostly for Amber. There are clothes in all shades and colors. Regulate everyday clothes, and formal wear.
One section is for her shoes, and then there are drawers for underwear and nicknacks. At the end, there is a full body mirror, and on either side of them, there are cabinets filled with royal jewelry.
"This is a mini mall," Ambers exclaims with excitement, as she walks around in the closet. I laugh at her antics. Seeing her happy and relaxed is all I ever wished for, especially when the reason for her calmness and happiness is partly me.
After the small tour of our room, I led her to another door, but on the living room side of the room. It leads to my old room, and had been locked for ages when I asked for it to be unlocked. I know how much work it took them to make this door work again, without damaging the old wood.
Through the door, we walk into the girl’s rooms, and Amber twirls around to take it all in. I’ve had two dusted pink beds put in, with a white flowered bedside table to each bed. All around the room, there are shelves with toys, plushies, and everything a girl could want.
At the window on the left side, there are two working tables, with a chair for each. On the table coloring books and colors lay, ready for the girls to unfold their creative skills. They have one side each in the large walkin, and a shared bathroom. The rooms are adjacent, so they can always come to us during the night. I’ve put in a small night light near the door to our room, and the ceiling is covered in those glow in the dark stars and planets.
I put down Melody, as Blaze put down Elina. The girls wake when they hit the bed, and won’t let us leave them. We settle in their room instead and watch them explore, all thoughts of being tired gone.
Amber kisses my cheek, a loving glint in her eye.
"This is so sweet. Thank you!" She says, as Blaze whines about where his kiss is. She giggles and kisses his cheek as well. I lift Amber onto my lap, Blaze at our side and the girls running between us and the toys in the room, gushing and showing everything they find.
This moment. With my woman in my lap, my brother at my side, and our girls exploring and roaming excitedly about, this is heaven. We need more times like this, and it makes me wonder why my father never prioritized this time with me when I was little. I swear right then and there to never be like him. Not anymore, and I will always keep all my girls as my first priority. They are the most important thing in my life, aside from my brother.
