Amber’s POV
I look between Chase and Blaze in a state of shock, anger, and sadness. The more I think about it, the angrier I get.
"Amer, breathe, little moon. We are okay. Chase and I are coming to terms with the situation, and we are all okay. Come, love, breathe, okay." I realize I’ve stopped breathing when Blaze’s concerned voice cuts through my murderous thoughts.
"Huh. Oh, sorry."
"Where were you right now? Your eyes were blazing with orange and your face became deadly pale." Chase asks, looking as concerned for me as Blaze sounded a second ago.
"Burning your dad to eternity with those two horrible women of his," I answer without regret. Both chuckle at my answer.
"Fair enough, I guess," Chase says, before leaning forward and taking my hand. "But we need to get back before my... Our father tries something. We don’t know where he is, or why he escaped - other than to not stand trial and be convicted. And we want you to go with us."
"I want to go with you, but I’m not leaving my girls behind. Either you accept all three of us or we will get the reject..."
"Don’t even think about it, Amber. We are in this together. All. Of. Us." Blaze says through gritted teeth, looking at Chase who nods. My heart melts at that moment when I realize they accept my girls. Our girls.
I walk to the bed and gently wake up Melody and Elina. They stretch like cats, as their eyes flutter open. A smile spreads across both their faces, and I smile back at them. They are so precious to me, and I’m horrified at the thought of what happened to them in Keres’s world before I got to them. I need to ask the question. The question that will hurt to relive, but I need to know.
"Good morning girls. It’s time to get up now. We need to leave and go home." A choking sound from behind me, makes me turn my head in time to see Chase stare at me with wide eyes.
"I may not have forgotten, but you and Blaze are my whole world and where you are, that’s where my home is. If that’s to be the dragon lands, then so be it. You are King now Chase, which by default makes me your Queen, and I will be damned if your father is going to ruin that."
"Momma?" Elina’s small timid voice says from the bed, and my heart melts at her calling me momma. freewebnøvel.com
"Yes, my darling?"
"Are they going to be my daddy?" She asks, looking at the boys. I turn my head again, looking in the same direction. That decision is not up to me, but I would love for them to be the daddies of my little angels.
"Do you want me to be your daddy, little amica?" Blaze asks in a soft voice. I make a mental note to ask what ’amica’ means, but by the way he says it, it has to be something sweet and endearing. Elina nods shyly, while Melody blushes. They both want this so bad, and I can’t say I blame them.
"But what if your real mommy and daddy come for you? They must miss you terribly." Chase asks, his voice strained with emotion. The girls exchange a look. Tears stream down Elina’s cheeks, as Melody takes the word.
"They were killed in front of us by that horrible lady. She said they had served their purpose and now she would be our mistress and leader." Melody’s hands are fisted together, while she hugs her little sister to her. I scoot over to them, and place them both in my lap. The guys are moving to the bed as well.
"She killed them in front of you?" I ask to clarify, and they both nod. Melody has tears in her eyes as well but tries to not let them fall.
I shake my head, putting Keres on my list of people to kill. Even though I know I can’t kill her, I can at least get her locked away somewhere bright and horrible. She’s not going to know what hit her. I make a silent promise, with my mates, from the look on their faces, to make sure to avenge the girls parents.
"Daddy was mean to Mommy. He kept us in the basement all the time, telling us we were his special secret. Mommy cried a lot, so when the lady came to the house and found us. Mommy laughed at daddy saying he could no longer hurt anyone. He never hurt us. But he hurt mommy.." Elina says through the tears.
By now I’m shaking with anger. So their father wasn’t loving at all. Then the avenging would be for the mom alone.
Chase and Blaze take the girls from me. One each. They cuddle them close and tell them they would be honored to be their daddies. They agree that Chase will be called ’papa’ and Blaze ’dad’. The girls calm down in their embrace, and my ovaries scream for me to finish the mating process, so I can bear their children.
After about twenty minutes of quiet talking with the girls, and a lot of ensuring they will be safe, loved, and adored from all sides at the dragon lands, I mind-link my brother to let him know of the situation. I promise to keep more in touch this time, and tell him to make sure our mother does not get into trouble while I’m gone.
As I tune back into the conversation, Chase is telling the girls all about shadow dragons, and how they were said to be extinct and how special the girls are. They are both swallowing it all, their mouths open and eyes wide in fascination.
"Grandpa Dragon has many more stories of shadow dragons, and he will be delighted to tell his princesses all about them." I smile, as the thought settles. The girls are now princesses and they will be treated as such. I’m not quite sure if Chase is right in his assumption that everyone will love them, but just see what happens to the first person to try and harm, threaten or treat my children badly.
"We are all set," I tell the room, and the guys take the girls into their arms. I have never teleported with so many passengers before, but I have faith in myself and my abilities.
I take both guys’ hands, as the girls hold their hands so the guys can keep them in their arms.
"Ready?" I ask, and when everyone nods, I teleport us to the castle.
We landed in the little study, where Berion showed me his book collection. A shadow jumps to their feet, and as the person moves into the light of a chandelier, Berions smiling face greets us.
"My King, my Queen, my Prince. Welcome home!" His eyes roam over us, and settle on the girls. Then he gasps. He looks at me, and I confirm in a mind link they are our children - adopted, but still ours!
’What’s their name, my Queen?’
"Melody and Elina. They were found in Keres’s world by me, and I took them with me. She killed their parents in cold blood in front of them.’
’So, you know what they are?’
"Little girls who need parents, love, and stability?’ Berion blushes, bows his head at the subtle threat.
’I know they are shadow dragons. But they are children first and foremost.’ I link in a softer voice.
"Welcome to the west dragon Kingdom Princess Melody and Elina. We are delighted to make your acquaintance." The girls hide in the chest of either of their dad’s. Berion chuckled.
"I will escort you to your quarters. We have everything at the ready, my King." I look at Chase, who smiles in return.
"It’s a surprise." He answers, and walks after Berion out the door. I have no other choice than to follow them. Blaze walks behind me with Elina on his arm.
