Chapter 142: Chapter 142 Meeting Kings and Snakes
Amber’s POV
After our afternoon, just us five, we headed to the throne room to greet the newly arrived Kings, their mates, and their court. I bathed the girls, and they helped them choose their outfits, which was a lot of fun.
Especially Melody was very aware of what she wanted to wear, and I got to ask them how old they were.
"Girls, I realize I never got to ask how old you are?" I say as I’m braiding Elina’s hair to look like my own, which is in a French braid down my back.
"Well, I’m 7 and Elina is 5. That’s what the mean lady said anyway when Elina asked the other day. She was curious how many summers she’s been here, and the lady just laughed and said she was stupid before telling us." Melody makes a face of disdain. I nod, and make a mental note to make the day I rescued them to their birthday. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind sharing the day, so next year I would roll out all the stocks to celebrate them.
We got ready in dresses varying from a dusted pink for Elina, to a dark pink for Melody and a light purple for me. They were of similar cut, and all of us had a braid of some sort. Elina got the same as me, as Melody wanted two going down on each side of her head. The shoes match the dresses, and the girls are giggling and ohing in the mirror. Chase and Blaze got ready in our room, and sulked all the way in there when they realized I was getting ready with the girls instead of them.
"They will not be comfortable with anyone other than one of us, and it’s not going to be one of you," I say to my pouting mates. I promise them I will get ready for bed in our room after the girls are asleep, and that seems to calm them down a bit. Neither of us has seen each other without clothes, or done anything else than kiss. My body trembles in the excitement of the prospect of us finally completing the mate bond soon. I have wanted them so badly since I came back from Kere’s world, especially after finding out they are brothers, and this was always meant to be.
The guys make me walk in the middle, and have a girl each on an arm, so they can feel safe. Little things like that make my blood hum, and my body ache for them in ways that surprise me. It’s like we all have become closer on the last day, and even though I haven’t forgotten past events, I just want to feel complete with both of my guys. Chase still has a lot to show me, but Ignis keeps telling me we need to mate with them both and have them mark me as one. I can’t wait, and I decide right then and there that I will have them do it tonight, and I will mark them back.
It doesn’t mean Chase doesn’t still have a lot to show me and prove to me, but then he will be fully mine and no other bimbo will be able to take him away from me.
"Little moon, are you okay? Your feelings are all over the place." Blaze whispers to me, and I can feel Chase listening. So they felt that, huh? Damn.
"Just thinking. There’s a lot going on." I answer, and I can see my mates do not believe me, but we arrive at the throne room at that very moment.
As we enter the throne room, I see there have been added new chairs to accommodate our little family. The high chairs for me and the guys and in the back, as there are two smaller high chairs in front of ours for the girls.
"I didn’t like the idea of the girls being out to the sides, so I had them placed in front of us. You will be in the middle, with me on the right and Blaze on the left." Chase explains, while we walk to the chairs. Our court curtsey and bow, as we walk by. Small mumbles here and there commenting on me and Melody and Elina.
Besides the chairs, Ezra, Merida, and Glaciel stands, smiling at the sight of us and bowing as well. I give them all a hug, which sends a gasp through the crowd, but I couldn’t care less. I notice Merida and Ezra holding hands, and lift an eyebrow.
"He wore me down." The Princess answers with a glint in her eyes, and Ezra laughs. I can’t be happier.
"How about you?" I ask Glaciel, and she nods to one of the guards on the platform with the chairs. He looks at her with adoration, and I know she’s in good hands. frёeωebɳovel.com
After taking over places on the chairs, Chase calls for the other royals to enter.
The first couple enters. The man has white hair and ice blue eyes, with pale skin and a blue crown on his head. His mate has white hair as well, but her eyes are striking green. Her skin is not as pale, and her aura feels warm and kind. She has a blue tiara on her head as well.
"The King and Queen of the North." The announcer calls through the silent hall.
"King Mesus, Queen Adalia. It’s an honor to have you grace our halls." Chase says formally, as the pair bow and curtsey.
"The honor is on us, King Chase. I’m looking forward to working with you, as your father could prove a tad difficult to speak reason to." The man says with a heavy accent. They stand to the side, and I have a feeling we will like each other very much.
"The King and Queen of the South." The announcer yells next. The man walks alone, and his skin is dark, with black hair and deep chocolate brown eyes to boot. Alongside him an elderly woman walks, but she doesn’t seem to be his mate, as the man is very young. Maybe almost as young as Chase.
"King Chase. We have heard the tales of your father’s crimes. I hope the long friendship my parents had with him won’t hinder our future relationship as Kings." The young man says, while the woman keeps giving me the stink eye.
"It will certainly not, King Daron. But I suggest your mother stop giving my Queen that stare, or I will have her thrown out of the collaboration. I do not tolerate someone disrespecting my Queen, even the unspoken kind." King Daron’s eyes cloud over, and the old woman sneers before moving to the side as well. The King gives me an apologetic look before following.
"The King and Queen of the East." The announcer says, as a new couple strides down the hall towards the thrones. The woman is gorgeous, with caramel hair going down in waves and honey colored eyes. But her aura is off somehow. She seems very snobbish, and full of herself. The man is handsome, but on the rough side. His hair is a dark blonde, with gray eyes and a rough beard. They are not holding hands, as the other couple did and the way they walk, they seem to think they own this place.
"King Chase." The man greeted me formally, ignoring me, Blaze and the girls.
"King Oron, Queen Mina. Welcome to our court and land. We hope you enjoy your time here, and we can all get along." Chase answers with a slightly hidden warning. King Oron’s cheeks suddenly have small red tints, and I’m sure he understood the warning.
"Such a curious thing, to be mated to a non dragon. I do hope you don’t find our way to foreign Miss Amber."
"It’s Queen Amber, actually, Queen Mina. And I don’t. Your ways do not differ that much from the court I myself grew up in, and I have had the most furrow education into the way, laws, and traditions of dragons, as MY parents thought it important to learn about everyone and all in the realms." I answered with a sweet smile, as the woman narrowed her eyes. She whispers to her mate, and a young man behind them. They move to the other royals, waiting on Chase to welcome them all and announce dinner served.
