Chapter 82: The Top 4 Clans

Once Misho understood that it would only be beneficial in the long term, he stopped feeling bad about it. Instead, he couldn’t help but feel excited. When would he get the chance to show off his superior stats?

"Where are PearChasm and Flora?" Misho asked.

He realized they weren’t in the room.

"Pear went to get another quest for us, and Flora joined after her to look around," Maia replied.

"What if Vinguard tries to do something?" Misho asked in worry.

"She told me she could take care of him."

"Are you sure?"

Misho was skeptical. He had never seen Pear use any spell art or wield any weapon.

"We’re back~"

The door to the room opened. PearChasm and Flora came walking inside.

"Did Vinguard try to do anything?" Misho asked her.

"Eh? Why would he do something to me?"

"Wasn’t he angry at you when he left?"

"Oh. I don’t think he has the time to do that. The Grand Star Terror Clan has a competition for the position of kingdom manager. He is competing for that," PearChasm replied nonchalantly.

"Kingdom Manager?" fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

Misho had never heard of such a term before.

"Yes. There are many kingdoms on the continent. According to one of the information gatherers of the Grand Star Terror Clan, there are 53 Kingdoms. Each Kingdom is big, so the Clan Leader wanted Kingdom Managers," PearChasm explained.

"53?! But that’s too little for the game to accommodate the whole population."

"Should we even care? It’s their problem," PearChasm replied and shrugged her shoulders.

"Yeah, we should. What if the game becomes overcrowded?"

"I don’t think all 16 Billion of the population would play the game. These kingdoms are big too. With a lot of space to build cities and such."

"That makes sense. Maybe we should join a Clan. That kind of information is vital."

Misho rubbed his chin as he thought about it. The fact that the GST managed to gather such information so fast meant that the benefits of joining a clan outweighed the cons.

"Are you still in GST?" Maia asked her.

"I left just now. I don’t want to see Vintinydick again," PearChasm replied.

"Do you know which clans are the biggest?" Misho asked.

He wanted to join a clan that was as big as GST. It would maximize their benefits. Who knew how much they would gain if they joined a small one? He didn’t even have to think to know that they would only work hard for little gain.

"There are the Solar Federation Clan founded by the son of the richest man in the Solar System, the Fun And Strike Clan run by a team of five mysterious members, and lastly, the Research Gamers Clan created by an assortment of real-life scientists and game developers."

"Solar Federation, what a bold name."

"Yes. They are basically pay-to-win (P2W) players. I heard they bought a lot of Gold coins from many players using Earth Coins."

"How do you know all of this?" Misho asked in amazement.

"I knew you were going to ask, so I bought a booklet from the Research Gamers Clan."

"Let me see."

PearChasm pulled out a booklet from her pocket. The contents were handwritten, and it was made somewhat decent. Considering how early this was into the game, it was very impressive.

"What the? How did they make this? Are their manpower that strong?"

Misho opened up the booklet and read through its contents.

Misho’s cheeks twitched at the RG’s lack of weakness. It was a blatant bias towards their own clan.

"Are you sure these are the only clans out there that could compete with GST?" Misho asked.

He would rather not join any of these. FAS was promising, but they sounded like an army conscription clan. He didn’t join the game to roleplay as a soldier.

"I asked the RG member that sold me this booklet. He told me the other clans only had less than half of the total members of any of the top 4."

"I’m bored..." Flora muttered as she stared at the two discussing something she couldn’t understand.

"Which should we join?" Misho asked Maia.

"You don’t get along with the GST’s founder, and we aren’t rich nor smart, so the only option left is FAS," Maia replied.

"Ohh~ What is this gossip? Care to tell me why he doesn’t get along with the GST’s founder?" PearChasm asked with eyes sparkling with interest.

"It’s complicated. You wouldn’t understand anyway."

Misho shook his head at her. He didn’t want to tell anyone about his dark past. It was ought to be buried in his heart and never to be disturbed ever again.

"I will. I won’t stop until you tell me."

PearChasm sat beside him on the bed and stared into his eyes.

"Let’s just join FAS," Misho told Maia as he ignored Pear.

"If you say so, Quarter. There is no harm in trying," Maia replied and nodded her head.

"Let’s go find a FAS clan member and join them," Misho said and stood up.

"Quarter, stop ignoring me~ I promise I won’t laugh," PearChasm said as she lay on his bed while staring at him.

"Come with us. Let’s join FAS."

"Wait, don’t tell me you want something in return again??" PearChasm asked while pretending to be shocked.

"I’m not. Just forget about it," Misho said.

"But... It sounds interesting!"

"If you listen to me, I will tell you," Misho said, exasperated at her.

She was really talented at annoying him. If Flora wasn’t here, she probably would have already tried to ride on top of him. She was the type of woman that won’t stop asking until her curiosity was satisfied.
