Chapter 65: Meeting A Plant Slime

The other NPCs also dissected the other wolves and packed their meat in the caravan. It would serve as their food for the next few days left of travel. It was very convenient because they didn’t need to bring much food with them. freēwebnovel.com

It was mainly the reason why the main food was wolf meat. They just come to you, and you can easily have food as long as you have enough people to defeat them.

By the time they were done, it was past noon.

"We’re going forward for a few more minutes. There is a river stream nearby," Joga informed them.

They went back inside the carriages, and it brought them to the side of a river stream. There were frogs croaking and lots of insects flying about.

They jumped down from the carriages, and Misho decided to leave Maia on the carriage alone. She was safe there as MadPolygon volunteered to guard her body.

"It’d be horrible to sleep beside this river," Jabber muttered.

"Wash up and get your bread here!" Joga shouted.

Misho walked into the river banks and was amazed at the clear waters. There was a small pool of stagnant water beside it with frogs and insects in it.

Misho headed to the river stream instead. The force of the water wasn’t strong at all. Instead, it was very light and slow.

As he stepped into the cold waters with his bare feet, Misho couldn’t help but appreciate the greenery around them. These kinds of places were rare in real life. Many of these places were protected, and you need to sign a contract before entering them.

Misho washed his hands and feet before heading back to the caravan. He approached the first carriage and grabbed two pieces of bread from the merchant sitting on the back.

"Are there no water?" Misho asked.

"Unfortunately, we don’t have pure water from spells. But the water from the river should be safe enough," Joga replied.

Joga grabbed two wooden cups from the inside of the carriage and passed them to him.

"Thank you."

Misho returned to the river and scooped a cup of water, and tasted it.

"Hmmm..."

It tasted refreshing. Misho didn’t think there would be anything harmful from this water. He gulped down the whole cup and drank two more before he stopped and returned to Maia’s side.

"Maia, wake up," Misho said as he lightly shook her body.

"Mmmm..."

Maia groaned and grasped her chest. It was still painful.

"Drink water and eat bread. It will help you heal faster."

Maia opened her eyes and looked at him. She then looked at the bread in his hand and the cup of water.

"Feed me..."

"Yes. Now sit."

Misho supported her and helped her lean to the side of the carriage. Maia was visibly in pain as she moved.

First, Misho helped her drink the water.

After that, he broke the hard bread into pieces and fed it to her.

"Ugh... Is this a rock?" Maia muttered as she chewed.

Misho smiled wryly and didn’t respond. It would be awkward if the merchant heard her words.

"Just eat it, okay?"

"Mm."

Maia nodded her head and finished eating after a while. Misho then had her drink some more water.

"I will rest more. It’s very painful, Misho," Maia said and laid down on the seat.

Misho patted her head and let her rest.

"...iss me," Maia said in an inaudible voice.

"What?"

"Kiss me..." Maia whispered as she turned red.

Misho stared at her begging eyes, and his heart skipped a beat. He leaned forward and pecked her soft lips. A smile immediately formed on her mouth.

"Hehe..."

After giggling, Maia went to sleep.

Misho turned his head to the back of the carriage and saw the curtain was wide open. MadPolygon, TonkotsuRamen, Jabber, and WristRose were staring at him with weird looks on their faces.

"What a gentleman," WristRose said as she blinked at him.

The three men looked at him with respect and didn’t say much for fear of disturbing Maia.

"You guys..."

Misho scratched the back of his head and felt awkward. He couldn’t believe they were shameless enough to watch him kiss Maia.

Misho jumped down from the carriage and took a bite of his own bread.

"We were about to move, but you sure took your time," WristRose said as she smiled at him.

As a woman, she liked it when she saw him take care of her.

"Isn’t it what I’m supposed to do?" Misho replied back in retort.

He was slightly red from the embarrassment.

"Right. Eat up, so we can go. Nighttime is fast approaching. We will be delayed more at this rate," MadPolygon said.

"Okay."

Misho nodded his head and ate his bread quickly. He mixed it with water inside his mouth to soften it before he swallowed it.

As he was eating, Misho suddenly noticed something move from the shrubs.

"Huh?"

Misho saw a green blob jump out of the shrubs, and it started hopping in his direction. Its body was like jelly as it moved up and down.

"Is that a slime?" Misho asked.

"Correct. It’s a Plant Slime too. They are very common around forests," MadPolygon replied.

"Does it hurt?"

"It can eat you, but only if you’re sleeping. Just kick it away. It’s pretty useless," Mad explained.

"I see."

Misho watched as it jumped up and down before arriving beside his feet. It then inched closer and touched his skin.

"Uh."

Misho kicked it away. The slime bounced up and down before suddenly splattering. It became liquid and lost its structure.

"It’s that weak?"

"Slimes are pretty cute. I heard some of them have slime cores that you can sell," WristRose interjected as she looked at the mess the slime left with its dead body.

"Interesting."

Misho walked to the slime’s liquids and grabbed a tiny green pearl from it.

"Wow! That’s a slime core," WristRose exclaimed in surprise.

Misho walked to her and gave it to her.
