Chapter 1951: Chapter 1951: Mirror World (28)

"Did you drink?"

"What’s it to you?" Cheng Mu mumbled, "You can’t control me."

"..."

If I were there with you, I’d finish you off in seconds!

Chuzheng checked the time; it was past 2 a.m., so she couldn’t send anything more.

Chuzheng reminded him, "Don’t lie there, go to sleep."

"I want to!" Cheng Mu said stubbornly, like a child throwing a tantrum.

Chuzheng lacked any sympathy, "Then lie there. I’m going to sleep."

"No way! Sit there!" Cheng Mu suddenly lifted his head and pointed at Chuzheng.

Chuzheng: "..."

Good Person Card!

Mine!

Don’t be angry!

Chuzheng didn’t sit down, just stood there, "What do you want?"

Cheng Mu probably didn’t know what he wanted, seeing Chuzheng not leaving, he lay back down.

He extended a hand and placed it on the mirror.

The boy’s figure was cast in shadow, so Chuzheng couldn’t clearly see the expression on his face.

Chuzheng stared at the hand he had placed on the mirror. After a moment, she extended her hand, pressing it against the mirror.

The moonlight outside was gentle, and through the cold mirror, their palms seemed to touch, as if reaching across the flow of time to feel each other’s warmth.

The boy slightly leaned back, gazing at the person bathed in moonlight.

His heartbeat gradually lost its rhythm, as if he could hear the sound of blood boiling, breaking through the desolate night and clamoring in his world.

The boy’s eyes seemed to be filled with stars, veiled with a layer of haze, pulling one in to get lost within.

Chuzheng’s gaze deepened, her lips parted slightly, "Alright, go to sleep."

Cheng Mu pulled back his hand, supported himself on the table, and stood up.

But he didn’t turn around; instead, he knelt on one knee on the chair, leaning forward, his handsome face gradually enlarged, leaving a kiss on the mirror.

Chuzheng was briefly stunned.

The boy seemed to be waiting for her response, maintaining this posture.

Chuzheng: "..."

This is so silly, I don’t want it!!

The boy waited for a moment, perhaps the posture was too uncomfortable to maintain, slowly sat back down, lay back on the table, and said softly, "Goodnight."

Cheng Mu’s rapid breathing gradually calmed down.

Chuzheng stood there for quite a while without moving.

No idea how much time passed, Chuzheng reached out and tapped the mirror once, quickly withdrew her hand, pulled out a chair, sat down, and looked at the person across from her.

-

2020.

Cheng Mu lay sleeping all night, suddenly waking from a dream in the morning, and in that half-awake state saw that familiar face.

Startled, Cheng Mu abruptly sat upright.

"Awake?"

"You... Why are you here?" Cheng Mu’s voice was somewhat hoarse, just having woken up.

Seeing Chuzheng, he panicked terribly.

"Why can’t I sit here?" Chuzheng confidently replied, "This is my room."

Cheng Mu: "..."

Is this what he meant?

"Last night you..."

Cheng Mu was alarmed, "What did I do last night?" Did he do something? He remembered not having a habit of going crazy when drunk!

"Nothing." Chuzheng shook her head, "Aren’t you going to wash up?"

Cheng Mu: "..."

Cheng Mu looked around and asked vaguely, "Why aren’t you going?"

"I’ve already washed up."

Chuzheng had changed clothes and looked fresh and clean, obviously not like someone who hadn’t washed up.

Cheng Mu’s gaze wandered, "I’ll sit for a while."

Chuzheng: "Oh."

Chuzheng continued with her tasks, Cheng Mu sat there, his gaze wandered around briefly, but ultimately fell on her.

The woman bowed her head, her long, dense eyelashes casting small shadows on her fair skin. She leaned slightly forward, drawing a graceful curve along her neck.

"Xiao Chu, Xiao Chu... come out for a while."

Chuzheng looked up at Cheng Mu, who quickly said, "You should go."

Cheng Mu watched Chuzheng leave, his tense body suddenly relaxing, and after a brief pause, Cheng Mu stood up and entered the bathroom, the sound of water gushing forth.

Cheng Mu came out of the shower, changed into clean clothes, his mind occupied by chaotic thoughts.

Cheng Mu shook his head, quickly dispelling those thoughts.

He remembered Chuzheng’s hesitant expression earlier and immediately checked the surveillance.

Even though the surveillance couldn’t capture what happened in the mirror, what he did was perfectly clear!!

Cheng Mu closed his phone, grabbed the nearby water, and gulped down a few quick sips.

Finally, perhaps finding himself unable to face Chuzheng, he dashed away in a hurry.

-

Cheng Mu sulked for a long time but ultimately had to face Chuzheng bravely.

But Chuzheng behaved as if nothing had happened, further frustrating Cheng Mu.

"I’m starting school."

Cheng Mu munched on a bag of snacks, and before the person on the other side could respond, he continued.

"I’m going to study out of town."

He didn’t choose a school in this city because the program he wanted to study was better elsewhere.

He wanted to improve himself.

"Mm."

Chuzheng’s reaction was indifferent.

Cheng Mu hesitated, "You’re... Are you not going to ask me to stay?"

"Why would I ask you to stay?"

"..."

Cheng Mu thought to himself he’d really imagined too much; she wasn’t like a normal person.

"I might not be able to come back for a long time."

"Mm."

Cheng Mu gritted his teeth, ready to risk it all, "Will you... really wait for me?"

"I will."

"Then let’s set a date." Cheng Mu said, "Who knows how long this will last."

Neither of them really understood how the mirror worked.

What if they couldn’t connect someday?

"Okay."

Cheng Mu gave a date, "October 23, 2030."

"Where?"

"You decide." He had no idea what things would look like ten years from now.

Chuzheng thought for a moment, "Central Square, Music Fountain, at 7 p.m."

Having settled the time and place, Cheng Mu spent the next few days packing and preparing to enroll.

"I’m... I’m leaving."

"Mm."

Cheng Mu clenched the hand hanging by his side and after a moment, stepped forward, quickly kissed the mirror, and then swiftly left the room with his suitcase.

-

2030.

Chuzheng’s work took second place, and as someone who had once dealt with plagiarism allegations, receiving the award stirred controversy.

During the press interviews, sharp questions were targeted at her.

Chuzheng couldn’t be bothered to deal with them and left onsite.

Afterward, reporters branded her with the title of ’high-profile, impolite.’

Dai Mi felt the boss didn’t need to be polite to them since their statuses differed.

Moreover, none of the questions asked were legitimate.

Everybody was impolite; why was their boss specifically labeled as such?

After a bit of maneuvering behind the scenes by Dai Mi, the news vanished in a couple of days.

Chuzheng introduced a few more series, gradually restoring her reputation.

"President Yuk, it’s not over inside; where are you going?" Dai Mi chased after Chuzheng worriedly.

"There’s something I need to do."

"No, you can’t just leave; the designer still needs to go on stage later!!"

"Figure it out."

"What... How should I figure it out? President Yuk, what are you misunderstanding about me!" Unable to stop her, Dai Mi could only watch helplessly as she left.

Ah ah ah ah!
