Chapter 1952: Chapter 1952: Mirror World (29)

Airport.

A man pushed his suitcase, quickly catching up to the man in front and curiously asked, "Brother Mu, why did you suddenly return to the country?"

The man, wearing sunglasses and dressed in a high-end suit, had an impressive presence that rivaled that of celebrities.

He took off his sunglasses and casually hung them on Li Huan’s chest, "Can’t I come back?"

"No, it’s just that your sudden return caught me off guard." Li Huan was puzzled, "I thought you were going to settle abroad."

Cheng Mu looked into the distance, a slight smile tugging at his lips, "I came for a date."

Li Huan was stunned, "Huh? With whom?"

Cheng Mu smiled without answering, opened the car door, and got inside. Before Li Huan could get in, he had already closed the door.

"Help me take the luggage home, thanks."

"..."

Li Huan was left dazed, holding the luggage and watching the car merge into the traffic.

What did he come to do?!

To be a luggage porter?

-

Central Square, Music Fountain.

Chuzheng arrived at the square at exactly seven o’clock, not a minute more, not a minute less.

Chuzheng stepped under the neon lights to the music fountain, swept a glance around, and didn’t see Cheng Mu.

The Good Person Card was late!

Is this the attitude a Good Person Card should have?!

Chuzheng looked down at her phone, when suddenly a clear voice sounded beside her, "Sister, are you waiting for me?"

Chuzheng looked up to see the handsome face of a man, a slight smile on his face, brimming with confidence, his manner elegant.

The dramatic scene of running over and hugging, like in dramas, didn’t happen. Chuzheng very calmly asked, "What did you call me?"

Cheng Mu muttered an acknowledgment, expertly correcting himself, "Sister."

The two quietly gazed at each other, the surrounding crowd seemingly stripped away from their world.

It actually hadn’t been long since Chuzheng last saw Cheng Mu, but back then Cheng Mu was still a boy.

Upon meeting again, he was already a mature man.

And his personality seemed to have changed a lot...

Chuzheng suddenly stepped forward, kissing Cheng Mu on the lips.

Beside them, the fountain erupted along with the sudden burst of music, the mist falling with a slight chill, veiling their embracing figures.

-

Cheng Mu sat on the steps, drying Chuzheng’s hair, his ears still hot, but a smile on his face.

"You were late."

Cheng Mu defended, "Not even a minute..."

Chuzheng: "Still late."

"... Fine, next time I’ll allow you to be ten minutes late."

Chuzheng called softly, "Cheng Mu."

Cheng Mu cleared his throat, pressed Chuzheng’s shoulders so she faced him, his deep eyes reflecting her image.

He solemnly promised, "I’m ten years late, I won’t be late ever again."

To Chuzheng, it had only been a few months, but for him, it had been a full ten years.

Perhaps it was his jinxed mouth, after that day, he couldn’t use that mirror again.

Ten years was enough time for him to understand his feelings for her.

On their way back, Cheng Mu thought of the mirror and asked her.

"Can you still use that mirror?"

"You weren’t here, how could I use it?" Chuzheng said, out of sorts, "For me, it’s only been two months since your university classes started."

Cheng Mu: "..."

Alright.

He had endured ten years of struggle alone, while for her, it had been only two months.

Then what was the point of what he just said?

Cheng Mu went silent for a moment, "Have you ever thought, what if... I never appeared?"

"You would." A bastard wouldn’t allow you not to appear.

Cheng Mu smirked, "I’m saying, what if, accidents are unpredictable."

Chuzheng’s tone was assured, "I would make you appear."

Cheng Mu: "..."

Cheng Mu glanced sideways at the person beside him, dark tides surging in his gaze.

This person was finally sitting beside him in flesh and blood, not in those dreamy yet illusory dreams, nor separated by a cold mirror in memories.

They were finally meeting in the same space-time.

They could hug each other and feel each other’s warmth.

Cheng Mu carefully extended his hand, hooked his pinky around Chuzheng’s pinky. Chuzheng noticed but didn’t react much.

The slight action was as thrilling as secretly holding the hand of a crush, like early spring romances in school, behind the teacher’s back.

The warmth transmitted from his fingers sent ripples through Cheng Mu’s heart.

So this was what it felt like to be with her.

-

Chuzheng had the driver stop the car outside Cheng Family’s Gate, Cheng Mu was a bit surprised, "I thought you would want to keep me for the night."

Chuzheng was also surprised, "You want to?"

Cheng Mu laughed, "Just teasing, my dad is waiting for me, I’ll head back first."

Chuzheng appeared a bit disappointed, nodded, "Mm."

Cheng Mu opened the car door and got out, circled around, and knocked on Chuzheng’s car window.

Chuzheng rolled down the window, Cheng Mu leaned on the windowsill in the gentle night breeze.

Chuzheng watched as Cheng Mu disappeared at Cheng Family’s Gate, then finally raised her hand to touch her lips, closed the window, and instructed the driver to leave.

Just after Chuzheng’s car left, a figure emerged from the bushes nearby, a deep gaze fixed on Cheng Family’s Villa.

In the darkness, sporadic red glows flickered.

After an unknown duration, one red glow fell from the air, landing on the ground, and was crushed underfoot.

A low chuckle was heard on the wind.

The night wind brushed through the bushes, and after a swishing sound, the shadow that had stood there vanished.

-

Separated from Cheng Mu, Chuzheng finally had time to click the red exclamation mark flashing in the upper right corner of her vision.

She thought it was some game setting, but upon clicking it, she discovered it was a small map.

And the previous green dot far abroad was now less than a few hundred meters away from her.

Chuzheng: "!!!"

Chuzheng immediately instructed the driver to turn around, "Drive back."

The driver promptly turned and returned the way they came. Chuzheng fixed her gaze on the green dot, watching it get closer and closer.

Finally, the car stopped outside Cheng Family’s Gate.

Chuzheng looked towards Cheng Family’s Villa, which was brightly lit, like a beacon in the night.

Chuzheng quietly watched, her face expressionless, no one could tell what she was thinking.

After a long pause, the driver was about to fall asleep when he heard his boss softly say, "Let’s go back."

The driver jolted awake and promptly started the car.

As the car went further and further away, the lights in Cheng Family’s Villa had long since gone out, blending into the darkness like a lurking giant beast.

Chuzheng returned home, calmly washed up, and finally sat before that mirror, gazing at the person inside lost in thought.

The Good Person Card is Xing Jue... but why is the information the bastard gave incorrect?

Would the bastard give fake information?

No need.

With the bastard’s skills, there’s no need to give false information to deceive her.

So something must be wrong.

The bastard is tight-lipped, revealing nothing, and goes offline after speaking.

Chuzheng felt a bit annoyed, finally deciding — to sleep on it.
