"Time to dig..."
At first, Leo found it hard but the more time passed,the easier it became.
"I need that spade..."
Leo had decided,that even though the spade would take time,he had to craft one,as digging out the dug dirt from the trench with his bare hands was not working. But luckily,he came across a hollow sturdy log that he split in half and used it to scoop the dug soil out of the trench.
By noon,he had covered a full twenty metres.
"I think that’s enough for today..."
Leo admired his work,as he decided to call it a day.
He went to the stream,where a few animals were lurking by,and stripped naked.
"Cool..."
Leo felt his body ease up as he soaked himself in the stream, letting the water flow over him. He used his shirt to scrab the dirt from his body.
As for the rest of the clothes,he took his time washing them and hung them on the tree branches to dry,before seating naked under a tree to have his lunch. Some roasted potatoes and bananas.
As for the animals,after observing him for a while and noticed that he was not after them,they let down their guard and drank from the stream.
"Damn goats...!"
Leo cursed as he noticed the two goats that had escaped earlier come to drink. But they were not alone. The two had found a new flock,that was thrice as big as their previous flock,and the he-goat in charge was quite different. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
It was a head taller than the other three he-goat’s in the flock,and it gave of a menacing aura,that gave Leo the chills, forcing him to cast the inspection ability on it.

"Failed..."
Leo mentally exclaimed,as he looked at the screen before him.
"What’s happening..."
The only other time that the inspection ability had failed him was when he inspected the mysterious gem,but unlike the last time,this time,the inspection ability did identify the target,but failed at identifying its rank and level.
"Damn...!"
Leo cursed the second he looked away from the screen. The he-goat was staring at him, its eyes filled with vengeance and hatred.
Leo looked around,and noticed the two she-goats that had escaped him had what he could describe as a smack face.
"Intelligent goat..."
The thought flitted into Leo’s mind.
"But how...!"
He started to ponder why the he-goat was different,but the goat had a different plan in mind.
"Damn...!"
Leo cursed as he went for his pants,put them on as fast as he could and grabbed at his blade, before dashing into the forest. He had seen the change in the goats eyes,and knew exactly what it had in mind.
For a couple of seconds,Leo had a headstart,he dashed through the forest,topless while ignoring the sharp thorns that tore at his skin.
He was headed towards the camouflaged pitfall.
"There are behind me..."
Leo could tell from the thumping of hooves and the constant aggressive bleats,that the goats,all twenty-four of them,were giving chase.
"You are supposed to be docile lovable creatures..."
Leo shouted at the goats behind him,his plan was simple. He hoped the pitfall would take care of the leading he-goat, leaving the rest to him.
"Almost there..."
Leo urged his leg forward,as he ducked under hanging branches and jumped over fallen ones,while trying not to stumble and fall.
"Almost there..."
He urged himself once more,as the camouflaged pitfall came into sight.
"Still intact..."
He felt relieved as he increased his speed,tensing his legs ready for the jump. The pitfall was six foot in diameter,a big jump for the current twelve year old Leo. But it was a jump he was going to make,as even a little deviation from the path may end up alerting the goats of the waiting trap.
"Five..."
Leo started the count down as he got closer to the pitfall.
"Four...."
"Three...."
He had about four metres left.
"Two...."
He was about a metre from the pitfall.
"One...."
As his left foot landed at the edge of the pit,Leo made a weird curve,that used the landing to propel himself up and forward,before throwing the stone blade to the other side as he twisted his body in midair and landed hands first on the other side,his legs still in the air.
"Aaargh...!"
Leo cried out in pain,as he had forced his body to do a flip,as to avoid falling into the pitfall , which ended with him landing on a jagged rock.
System Alert: You have taken damage.
System Alert: You are bleeding, quickly tend to your wound to avoid infection.
"Damn...!"
Leo cursed as he quickly stood,picked up his blade and dashed towards the lair.
"A little blood loss in exchange for my life is a price am willing to pay..."
Leo ignored the system warning as he prioritized his life over an infection.
The lair only had one entrance,and it was only wide enough for one goat to go through at a time. If they continued to pursue him,he was going to use the lair as a death trap.
"Meeeeh....!"
"Meeeh....!"
"Meeeh....!"
Seconds after his jump,he heard the painful bleats of three goats.
"Bingo...!"
Though his plan had worked,Leo did not look back,or slow his pace.

"Three cries,two deaths..."
Leo was forced to stop as he had to confirm wether the odd goat had fallen into his trap or not.
