Leo mentally cried out as he watched the odd he goat jump out of the pitfall,it was bleeding from a couple of big holes,and there was even a stick logged into its belly.
System Alert: You have dealt critical damage.
"Critical damage...!"
Leo sneered at the system before turning around and making a un for the lair. The pain,anger,rage and brutality in the odd goat’s eyes was clearly visible to Leo.
"Am dead..."
Leo thought as he had the angry bleats of the remaining goats as they resumed their charge.
Leo ran as fast as he could.
"I should have crafted those arrows..."
Leo thought as he neared the abnormal tree.
"Home sweet home..."
He thought as he swiftly cleared the branches hiding the entrance and dashed inside. He deduced that he only had a minute or two before the goats found the lair.

He retrieved a potato from his inventory,it was his last piece,and gobbled it down with the last of his red berries juice.
The moment he was done,he felt a little bit tired.
"It seems that eating elevates tiredness by a degree..."
Leo took note of this as he laid in ambush on the left side of the entrance,his blade ready.
"It’s now you and me buddy..."
Leo said to his blade as he gave it a kiss. He held it with both hands,above his heady, preparing for an overhead swing that would decapitate the first goat to run through the entrance.
"They are here..."
Leo heard the goats bleats come closer and closer.
System Alert: Your shelter is under attack.
"Tell me something I don’t already know..."
Leo was about to sneer at the system when he was stopped by the quest screen that popped up.
System Alert: You have received an emergency quest.

Emergency Quest:Defend
Your shelter is under attack by a flock of goats. Defend it at all means.
Reward:
Eight thousand experience points
Three hundred copper coins
Uncommon ranked chest
One summon
Penalty:Death
"Eight thousand...!"
Leo could not help but cry out. Eight thousand experience points were way too much for such a simple quest.
"Wait...."
Leo sudden thought left him grinning. He had just realized that this quest was a heaven sent gift. He would receive experience points for both killing and completing the quest.
There was also his first uncommon ranked chest,the summon and the currently useless copper coins.
"Come to papa..."
"Slash...!"
Leo’s blade came down on the first goat that walked through the lair’s entrance.
System Alert: You have killed a level five common rank goat.
System Alert: You have received two hundred and fifty experience points.
System Alert: You have leveled up.
System Alert: Level 3 (110/12,500)
System Alert: You have received ten copper coins.
System Alert: Check inventory for coins
Leo felt the increase in his overall strength.
The blade that was a little bit heavier early on now weighed less.
"It feels good..."
Leo thought as he hurled the decapitated goat into the lair.
For the next hour,Leo and his blade worked hand in hand to slay the goats. He had come up with a simple strategy.
With an empty inventory slot,he filled it up with a pile of wood. Everytime a goat walked in,he would quickly empty the pile of wood at the entrance. Blocking the goat’s retreat path,as well as preventing the rest from interfering in his massacre.
With the stack of six foot long and half a foot thick wood blocking their path,the goats outside could only wait for their death.
As for looting,Leo left that for later.
"Twenty-one goats down..."
Leo said as he looked at the piled up carcasses.
"One more to go..."
Some of the carcasses had been decapitated,some had their stomachs ripped open and their gut littered the lair’s floor,while others were still bleeding from gaping cuts all over their body.
As for the lair,it was nothing less of a bloody nightmare with the air leaking of blood and gore.
"Your turn..."
Leo stored the stacked wood at the entrance in his inventory making way for the odd goat to walk in.
"Meeeh...!"
With an enraged bleat,the odd goat charged in,still bleeding from its gaping holes

"What the hell...!"
Leo cursed as he stood face to face with the enraged goat. His mind raced on the best strategy. By now,it was already obvious to him that this goat was not just odd but way different from the rest.
Two goats at the fifth level had died in the pit,while it not only survived,but was still standing despite the couple of gaping bleeding holes and the stake in its belly.
"That might work...."
Leo grinned as his muscles tensed and his eyes focused on the enraged goat.
Time stood still for a second,and then...
"Meeeh...!"
The odd goat bleated as it charged through the small lair,head down,horns pointed at Leo’s abdomen,ready to ram into him and tear of his guts.

The goat was a body length from him when a pile of stacked up sif foot long and half a foot thick wood materialized before it.
"Bang...!"
The odd goat could not stop in time. It directly rammed into the stacked wood. As for Leo,he was already dashing towards another pile of wood closest to him.
"Store...!"
He ordered the system and watched as the pile of wood vanish from sight, appearing in his inventory.
The odd goat shook off the dizziness.
"Over here...!"
Leo called out to the goat as he saw it looking around for him. And just like that,the odd goat charged at him once more.
Leo waited once more,and...
"Bang...!"
The stacked pile of wood came into play again. But this time,Leo did not run,but chose to attack.
He has circled the pile of wood,blade in hand.
"Swish...!"
"Swish....!"
