Chapter 54: Investment 54—The Start of an All Out War II

Elliot’s mind went completely numb for a second. What had just happened? He didn’t understand—he didn’t want to understand. His frozen body remained in motion—the hand he stretched forth began to tremble. His eyes widened, devoid of any emotion; not shock, not pain, just blankness.

The glimmers that were always in his eyes disappeared. They were empty, just like he felt empty without Seria.

"Loosen up... Don’t worry, you both will soon be reunited in the afterlife."

Ru sneered. This was a joke to him; he didn’t care about what would happen to Seria wherever he sent her.

"One thing I’m sure of is that you will be the first to taste death—"

Green liquid dropped from Ru’s long nose—each drop melted the grains of sand beneath his feet, escaping with toxic effervescence.

Ru closed the gap between them in a blur. One second he was a few meters away; the next, he was right in Elliot’s face. He intended to pierce Elliot’s neck with his nose. But unfortunately for him, Elliot blocked Ru’s nose with his sword.

"How about I fucking kill you!"

Elliot turned his head to the side with a great "Crack". The veins on his face were more prominent than usual—his bloody red eyes were filled with nothing but rage.

In another section of Floor Three, Liam’s body rapidly regenerated. Not only was his mana fully restored, but it drastically increased.

"I have given an upgrade. Don’t waste it."

Mary patted him on the head—she then dissolved into brown mist.

"You may come out now—"

"Are you going to keep hiding like a bloody cockroach?" Liam sneered.

"And here I was thinking I was being generous by letting you finish kissing that bitch’s ass—for a piece of candy."

August strode past the shadow of a tree. Liam’s face was already filled with so much anger.

"To see someone as self-serving as you reduced to a lap dog—" Taumus waltzed out of a tree’s shadow.

"Is quite a spectacle, if I say so myself."

He cooed mockingly.

Liam’s teeth ground against each other in frustration.

"This must be my lucky day—"

Orbs of dark energy circled around him.

"The top two bastards in ’My Must Kill List’. Your deaths will be gruelling." His voice carried great anger.

"Hahahaha... Ohh my, I’m so scared." Taumus laughed loudly.

"T, I think he’s still pissed that all the girls hovered around us back in the good old days."

August reminded Taumus of when they were the most popular with the ladies when they were kids and Liam got none.

"Seriously?—" Taumus furrowed a brow.

"I knew you were trash, but I didn’t realise you were also petty." He chuckled mockingly.

"That’s it—"

"You two are dead meat."

The dark orbs crashed into August and Taumus—the trees fell to the ground, bringing a rise of dust.

"Too easy." Liam smirked.

"You really must be dumb to think that weak-ass attack could do anything to us."

August had a smug look on his face as he dispelled the water barrier he erected to block Liam’s attack.

"A, I don’t think he understands human."

Taumus sneered.

"You are most correct, T. I forgot he was a lap dog—that doesn’t even qualify to be an actual pet—" August rolled his eyes.

"Due to his low intelligence quotient, I bargain."

Taumus added to complete August’s statement.

Liam boiled over like water in a kettle. He had already made his mind up—that he was going to obliterate their bodies.

"Affinity Switch—"

Dark miasma and blue sparkling water surrounded him as double rings. His feet were pulled upwards—he started to float. Then the two different affinities folded into one. Their collision released a devastating blast of mana that shook the earth and pulverised all the trees within a ten-meter radius.

The green grass became non-existent; all that remained was the bare earth.

"Restrap Aqua."

Liam’s feet didn’t land on the bare floor—a mass of water welcomed his legs. Two rings of spinning blades with jagged edges manifested on both hands respectively.

The dust evaporated from the heat that emitted from Taumus’s body. The very soil underneath his feet and around him melted into boiling hot red lava.

"This is going to be fun." He smashed his fists into each other.

"Affinity Switch: Abysmal Flames."

"You know, I always wondered if there was someone out there that could best me in water spells—"

"I guess today will be a good chance to find out—"

Bubbles of dark blue water converged around August.

"Affinity Switch: Solemn Aqua."

A torrent of water revolved around August’s feet.

"Flaming Dragons!"

Three flaming dragons charged at Liam, setting the soil ablaze. Liam pulled both hands forward. The spinning blades enlarged, merging into one humongous turning jagged water blade.

The dark water torrent that burst from the spinning blade condemned the flaming dragons to nothingness.

"Where are you looking?"

August thrust fifteen different water spears at Liam all at once.

Liam vanished for an instant and came up from behind August. "Where are you pointing?"

He sliced off August’s head. The body blew up into a puddle of water spikes that Liam managed to narrowly dodge.

’This goddamn spell!—’ Liam grunted.

"Aquinas Weiss."

Taumus and Liam muttered at once.

The real August was high up in the sunny sky that cast his reflection upon Liam.

"Did you really think you got me... Me of all people?" He sneered as a wide grin crept across his face.

The student council core members were all monsters, but even amongst them, August’s defence and attack speed were preeminent. Not once had his real body been scarred by any foe he crossed paths with.

Aquinas Weiss was a spell he created during infancy at the age of 6 because he didn’t want to always attend the boring family meetings or study with his very much unimpressive homeschool tutor.

He created the spell to duplicate himself. Not only that, but he could share mana, vision, and hearing with his doubles—even use them to amplify the strength of his spells.

Taumus knew what was coming next. He decided to gain some distance.

"This psychopath, he intends to... pft... none of my business."

Taumus blasted himself away with the flames he combusted underneath his legs.

"Tears of prolapse, feel the acquaintance sea. Let all be flooded in the stream of truth—"

Spell circles appeared in the air and on the ground. His doubles burst out of each spell circle and started to chant. Mana lines passed through them, connecting all of them to a grand spell circle that covered the light rays coming from above.

"There’s no way I am letting this bastard finish."

Liam thrust himself upwards with the dark water mass. One by one, he sliced through August’s doubles in a fit to get to August himself.

"The Kraken growls, the sea serpent hurls. Cleanse all and tur—"

Liam sliced through the double.

"n all into a paradise submerged in an unen—"

He destroyed yet another clone.

"ding Solemn Water that purif—"

He destroyed the last clone.

"ies all."

"Arconkon Ruses Dios Hundred!"

Liam’s blade was just about to reach August when a devastating pool of water hammered him down to the floor, followed by concurrent large water spells that were simply impossible to count, all of which impaled Liam’s body.

Liam’s body dissolved into dark water.

"Hello!"

He punched a hole through August’s torso.
