Chapter 61: Chapter 61: She is leaving!!

Yue Yue was full of heartbreak. She stormed back into her bedroom. freewёbnoνel.com

"I’m leaving! I’m done!" She sobbed, throwing an expanding storage unit onto the bed.

She didn’t care about the luxury or the safety of the estate anymore. If his heart wasn’t with her, then this whole marriage was just a cold, hollow cage. She grabbed the beautiful silk dresses he had bought her and stuffed them into the storage cube with trembling hands.

Jerk! Coward! Beast! She cursed in her head. He marries me, kisses me until I’m dizzy, and then thinks about some "destined" Heroine? I won’t stay in a forced relationship! I am Yue Yue, I refused to be a placeholder!

She wiped her eyes aggressively, but the tears just kept coming. She decided she was taking everything. The clothes, the jewelry, the high-grade snacks.

"Consider this payment for emotional damage!" she shouted at the empty room. "For hurting my feelings and wasting my time!"

The System, watching this disaster unfold, felt its mechanical processors start to overheat. This was not the plan!

[Host! Wait! What are you doing?] the System shouted in her mind, sounding genuinely panicked.

[Why are you packing? You’re supposed to go to the study and pin him to the desk! Demand your rights! Don’t run away!]

"Shut up!" Yue Yue yelled out loud, throwing a pair of shoes into the storage box.

"Stop talking to me! You’re the one who said he’s an unfaithful man! You said he’s saving himself for the Female Lead!"

[I... I didn’t mean it like that!] The system stammered, its logic circuits scrambling. He was just trying to rile her up so she would take the initiative! It knows Han Soi is a blockhead who won’t move first, so he thought if she were jealous, she would finally mate with him! He didn’t think she’d actually leave!

Yue Yue froze, a silk shirt halfway into her bag. Her eyes were red and puffy as she snarled at the air. "Then how do you mean it? Did you lie about him not wanting me?"

The system panicked; he couldn’t tell her the truth, or he would be truly finished. So he took a different approach.

[ Host, if you leave...the first villain’s favorability will reduce, and all your hard work will be in vain.] If you left, then the plot would collapse.]

But Yue Yue was past the point of being reasoned with. The pain in her chest was real.

"I don’t care about your plot!" she screamed. "He let me walk away. He didn’t stay to coax me. If he wants his ’Heroine’ so bad, he can have her!"

She marched toward the door, her small body fueled by pure, stubborn spite. She was going to leave this mansion, leave this man, and go find a nice, quiet corner of the empire where she could be a salted fish in peace.

The System went quiet, paralyzed by the realization that it had pushed its host too far. Its "perfect" manipulation had turned into a total catastrophe.

Yue Yue reached the door and yanked it open, only to run straight into a wall of cold, hard muscle.

Soon Han Soi returns hurriedly after all he left her like this, but he couldn’t ignore that notification at all. So as soon as it was done, he rushed back only to find a complete disaster.

The room was a mess. All the closets were flung open, silk dresses were crumpled on the floor, and Yue Yue was just storming out with a small expanding storage cube, her face drenched in tears.

"Yue Yue?" Han Soi’s voice was barely a whisper. His face went deathly pale, his heart stopping in his chest. "What are you doing? What are you doing with the storage cube?"

Yue Yue spun around, clutching the storage cube to her chest. Her eyes were red and swollen, and the sight of her misery made Han Soi feel like he was being stabbed.

"I’m leaving!" she shrieked, her voice cracking. "I’m going away, and I’m never coming back! You can stay here with your study and your cold bed and your... your stupid secrets! I don’t need you!"

Han Soi felt like the floor had vanished beneath him. He stepped forward, his hands trembling.

"Leaving? Why? Yue Yue, talk to me! What did I do? If it’s about the Temple, I’ll find a way to stop it! If it’s the house, we’ll move! Just don’t say you’re leaving!"

Yue Yue’s anger finally boiled over. She threw the storage cube at him; the metallic storage cube rolled down the floor with a thud.

"You’re a jerk, Han Soi! A big, cowardly jerk!" she sobbed, her words pouring out in a chaotic rush.

"You treat me like I’m a doll! You kiss me, and then you run away like I’m a monster! You say I’m your wife, but you won’t even mark me! You leave me alone in that big bed every night! If you don’t want me, just say it! Don’t keep me here like a pet while you wait for something better!"

She didn’t mention the System or the "Heroine," but her frustration about their lack of intimacy was loud and clear. She was tired of the forehead kisses. She was tired of the restraint.

Han Soi stood perfectly still, letting her scream, letting her hit him with her tiny fists. But as her words sank in and as he realized she wasn’t angry about the Temple or the danger but because he had been too careful with her...the terror in his eyes slowly began to melt.

A strange, dark, and incredibly handsome smile began to spread across his face.

He didn’t look like a worried husband anymore. He looked like a predator who had just realized his prey had been begging to be caught all along.

"Oh," Han Soi murmured, his voice dropping into a deep, velvety purr that made Yue Yue’s breath hitch.

He stepped closer, ignoring another storage cube she tried to shove between them. He easily caught her wrists, pinning them against his chest so she could feel the thundering, frantic rhythm of his heart.

"So that’s what this is about," he teased, his violet eyes glowing with a sudden, playful heat. "My little Yue Yue is so angry because we haven’t mated yet? My wife thinks I don’t want her?"

Yue Yue’s face turned a shade of red so deep it rivaled a sunset. "I...I didn’t say...!"

"You did," Han Soi whispered, leaning down until his nose brushed against hers. The pale, frightened look was gone, replaced by a gaze so intense it felt like he was undressing her soul.

"Is Yue Yue really that impatient? Does my little snake want me to stop being a gentleman?"

Yue Yue gulped, her anger suddenly being replaced by a wave of shyness that made her want to hide in his jacket. "I... you’re a jerk," she whispered weakly.

"I am a jerk," he agreed, his lips grazing her jawline. "An idiot who thought he was protecting you. But if you’re so worried about me leaving you... I suppose I should give you a mark that will never let you forget who you belong to, and never ever say a word about leaving me."
