Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Han Soi is waiting for Heroine?

Yue Yue lay on the bed, feeling like a deflated balloon. Her heart was still racing from the kiss, but the cold air in the room reminded her that Han Soi had once again run away.

She pouted, hugging a pillow tightly to her chest. "Is he really that shy? Or am I just not attractive enough?"

Just as she was wallowing in self-doubt, a cold, mechanical sound rang in her head.

[Ding! Host, the System has a piece of advice for you.]

Yue Yue grumbled, "What now? I’m busy being rejected by my own husband."

[Host, you are being too naive,] the System replied, its voice dripping with a strange, manipulative tone. frёewebnoѵēl.com

[Han Soi is a top-tier Villain. Why would he willingly tie himself to a ’nobody’ female? Have you considered that he is subconsciously saving himself?]

Yue Yue froze. "Saving himself? For what?"

[For the Female Lead,] the System said, adding oil to the fire.

[Even if they haven’t met yet, the laws of fate are absolute. His destiny revolves around her. Once the Heroine appears, his instincts will pull him toward her. He might not even realize it, but his hesitation to mate with you could be his soul waiting for its ’true’ match.] freewēbnoveℓ.com

Yue Yue’s eyes widened, and a sharp sting of jealousy pierced her heart. "What? No! That’s impossible! Han Soi loves me! He kisses me, he protects me, he carries me in his pocket!"

[But he hasn’t marked you,] the System countered coldly.

[Until the mating is complete, you are just a temporary guest in his life. Any high-level female could snatch him away. If you don’t take action and make him yours completely, you will be discarded the moment the Heroine smiles at him.]

Yue Yue screamed internally, "Shut up! You’re lying!"

She refused to believe it, but a seed of doubt had been planted. She thought about his restrained gaze and the way he always stopped at the last second.

Is he really waiting for someone else? Is my ’Beast Husband’ just a loaner until the main character shows up?

The thought made her blood boil. Underneath her naive and sweet exterior, Yue Yue was an incredibly possessive person. She didn’t care about the plot, and she definitely didn’t care about a "Female Lead."

"Han Soi is mine," she hissed, her fingers digging into the pillow. "If that Heroine dares to even look at him, I’ll bite her! I’ll purify her right out of existence!"

[Then you must be the one to take the lead, Host,] the System instigated, seeing that its manipulation was working.

[You cannot wait for fate. You must break his restraint and mark him before the Temple ceremony. At the Temple, there will be many ’destined’ encounters. Are you brave enough to claim your territory?]

Yue Yue’s expression turned from hurt to fierce determination.

"Fine," she whispered, her eyes glowing with a dark, stubborn light. "If he won’t do it, I will. I’m going to make sure that by the time we reach that Temple, every orc in the galaxy knows he belongs to me."

She stood up, no longer feeling like a deflated balloon but like a predator on a mission. The system went silent, satisfied with the chaos it had stirred.

Yue Yue didn’t know if she could trust the system, but she knew one thing for sure: she wasn’t going to let anyone take her pillar of support.

The next morning, the bedroom felt heavy and cold. Yue Yue hadn’t slept a wink; her mind had been a battlefield of system warnings and jealous thoughts.

When she looked in the mirror, she saw a pair of dark, heavy bags under her eyes. She looked miserable, and it only fueled her anger toward the "cowardly" man who refused to mark her.

When she walked into the dining hall, Han Soi was already there. The moment his violet eyes fell on her pale, exhausted face, he stood up so fast his chair screeched against the floor.

"Yue Yue?" He was by her side in a second, his expression twisted with intense worry. "What happened? Did you have a nightmare? Are you feeling unwell?"

He reached out his large, warm hand, intending to cup her small face and check her temperature, but Yue Yue’s reaction was like a lightning bolt.

Slap!

She swiped his hand away with a sharp sting, her eyes flashing with anger he had never seen before.

She didn’t say a word. She just glared at him, her chest heaving, before turning her head away and sitting down at the table in absolute silence.

Han Soi froze, his hand hanging in midair. "Yue Yue? Did I... did I do something wrong?"

She ignored him. She picked up a spoon and stared at her porridge as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.

Inside her head, the system’s voice was ringing like a death bell.

"Yue Yue, talk to me," Han Soi pleaded, stepping closer. He sounded desperate, his usual calm completely shattered by her silent treatment.

"If it’s about last night... if I was too rough, or if I scared you..."

Yue Yue’s grip on her spoon tightened until her knuckles turned white. Too rough? You weren’t rough enough! You ran away! She screamed internally.

But she kept her mouth shut, her stubbornness winning over her desire to yell. She was sulking so hard that the air around her felt prickly.

She waited. She expected him to pull her into his lap, to coax her with sweet words, or to stay until she finally broke her silence. She waited for the "War God" to surrender to his wife.

But then, she heard the sound of his heavy boots shifting.

His footsteps receded, growing fainter and fainter until the heavy door slid shut.

Yue Yue’s head snapped up, her expression one of pure, heart-wrenching shock. He actually left? He didn’t stay? He didn’t fight for her?

"You... you idiot!" she whispered, her voice trembling.

Fat and hot tears began to roll down her cheeks, splashing onto the expensive fabric of the tablecloth.

The system’s words echoed: [He is leaving you alone. Is he going to the study to think of you... or someone else?]

"Han Soi!" She gritted out through her teeth, her small hands grabbing the hem of her clothes and twisting the fabric so hard it began to tear.

The sound of the silk ripping was the only noise in the quiet room. She felt like her heart was being shredded along with the cloth.

She wasn’t just sulking anymore. She was terrified. Was the system right? Was he already pulling away because the "destined" meeting at the Temple was getting closer?
