Chapter 185: Chapter 185: I Believe You

She was begging, her voice filled with a frantic terror that had nothing to do with the princes and everything to do with the "brother" standing behind her.

The boy stood in the center of the room, looking at her with a dazed, confused expression. "Sister... don’t worry... we will leave..."

Yue Yue turned her head back just once to look at him, her eyes filled with pure hatred and revulsion. This man wasn’t a savior. He had a screw loose in his brain. He was a monster wearing her own face.

The tension in the observation room snapped. Xing Luoguang couldn’t stand to watch Yue Yue’s distress for another second. He threw the door open and rushed inside.

The moment the door opened, Yue Yue collapsed into his chest. Her small frame was trembling so violently that she could hardly stand. She gripped his tactical vest with both hands, burying her face against him as if trying to hide from the entire world.

"Luoguang... please," she sobbed, her voice broken and thick with tears. "I have nothing to do with that man. I don’t know him! I never contacted anyone. I didn’t plan this... I didn’t! Just believe me, please just believe me."

She was begging him, her desperation echoing through the cold interrogation room.

Xing Luoguang felt a sharp pain in his heart.

All his previous doubts vanished as he felt her genuine terror. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, shielding her from the boy’s gaze.

He reached up and patted her hair, his touch soft.

"Shh, I know. I believe you, Yue. I believe you," he whispered urgently into her ear. He held her close, letting her realize she was safe.

Over her shoulder, his eyes shifted to the boy standing in the center of the room. The warmth he showed Yue Yue instantly turned into a murderous hatred.

The boy, who had looked so devastated just a moment ago, shifted his expression again.

The "loving brother" mask fell away, replaced by that same mocking, arrogant smirk. He looked at the way Xing Luoguang held Yue Yue and let out a soft, taunting whistle.

Before the boy could utter another word, a blur of motion crossed the room.

It wasn’t Luoguang...it was Xing Luoye.

Xing Luoye had entered behind his brother, his face full of pure, dark rage. He grabbed the boy’s collar and slammed him back against the table with a loud thud.

"Keep that expression off your face," Xing Luoye growled, his voice coming in a snarl right in the boy’s ear.

He tightened his grip, his knuckles turning white. "If you breathe another word toward her, I will pull your tongue out myself."

The boy’s head was forced back, but he didn’t stop. He stared back at Xing Luoye with blazing eyes, even as the prince’s shadow completely covered him.

The room was filled with the sound of Yue Yue’s soft hiccups and the dangerous breathing of the two princes.

Xing Luoguang escorted Yue Yue back to her room in the palace. The walk was silent. Yue Yue felt a heavy weight of shame and fear pressing down on her chest. She didn’t know how to look him in the eye.

How could she prove she was innocent when she didn’t even understand what was happening?

Even if a test proved that boy was her biological brother, she had never seen him in her life. She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare where every exit was being blocked.

The moment they stepped into her room, Yue Yue broke down. She turned toward Xing Luoguang, her small frame trembling as she clung to his arms.

"Luoguang... please," she sobbed, her voice muffled against his chest. "I really have nothing to do with that man. I don’t know him. I have never contacted anyone. Just believe me."

Xing Luoguang’s expression softened instantly. The cold, suspicious warrior disappeared, replaced by a man who couldn’t bear to see her in pain.

He gently smoothed her hair, his large hand moving in a steady and calming rhythm.

"Yue Yue, don’t worry," he said softly. "Everything will be fine. We are going to look into this. You don’t need to carry this burden alone, okay?"

Yue Yue pulled back slightly, her eyes red and swimming with tears.

She looked directly into his cyan-blue eyes, searching for even a flicker of doubt. "You believe me, right? You have to believe me. You can check everything. I spent my whole life in that orphanage. I never met him. I didn’t even know I had a brother until today."

Seeing the pure honesty in her tearful eyes, Xing Luoguang felt his heart ache. He reached out and gently wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb.

"I believe you," he said firmly. "Don’t worry. Whether that man is your real brother or a fake, we will find out the truth. Even if he is your brother, that doesn’t prove you were working together. I will do everything in my power to clear your name."

He leaned down and pressed a long, tender kiss to her forehead. It was a silent promise of protection.

"Rest here for now," he added. "I need to go back and find out more, but I won’t let anything happen to you. Nothing will come back to haunt you. I promise."

Yue Yue nodded slowly, her heart finally feeling a little lighter. Xing Luoguang gave her one last reassuring look before turning and leaving the room.

Once she was alone, Yue Yue sat on the edge of her bed, her mind racing. She was still stunned. How could a brother just pop out of nowhere? And why was he saying such disgusting, nonsensical things?

She remembered the boy’s words in the interrogation room...about "repaying" people and the plan for her to get pregnant. freewēbnoveℓ.com

A surge of pure anger washed over her. He wasn’t trying to save her; he was dragging her into the mud.

"He’s trying to ruin everything," she whispered to the empty room.

She realized now that the boy’s goal wasn’t just to "rescue" her. He was actively creating trouble between her and the brothers. He wanted them to hate her. He wanted to isolate her.

The more she thought about his mocking smile, the more she was sure that he was a dangerous, manipulative person who didn’t care about her at all.
