Chapter 184: Chapter 184: and My ‘Twin’ Is Completely Insane!
Inside, Yue Yue was panicking. She knew the truth of her own soul...she was a transmigrator. ƒrēewebnovel.com
The body she had taken over was supposed to be a lonely orphan with no relatives. The system had never mentioned a brother. So where did this boy come from? How could someone like her exist in this world?
The boy didn’t seem to care about her denial. Choked with emotion, he suddenly lunged forward and grabbed her arms. Yue Yue tried to pull away, but he was strong and wouldn’t budge.
"Sister, it’s me! I am your brother!" he cried out. "Believe me! Can’t you see how similar we look? We are twins. We were born at the same time!"
Yue Yue shook her head violently. She didn’t know him. She didn’t have any memories of him. This situation felt like a nightmare that was tilting her entire world upside down.
"You’re lying!" she screamed in his face. "I have no one! I lived my entire life in an orphanage. I have no family. Don’t claim to be my brother!"
The boy’s eyes immediately filled with tears.
He didn’t let go of her. "Sister, I am not trying to get you in trouble. We truly are twins. You ended up in that orphanage because after our parents died, our aunt abandoned you on the streets. I have been searching for you my entire life. How could you not be my sister?"
He looked at her with absolute certainty. "If you don’t believe me, we can do a DNA test right now. I know the truth."
Yue Yue’s heart skipped a beat. His voice was so full of pain and conviction that she felt a shiver of doubt.
If a DNA test proved they were related, then she truly was the sister of an Imperial intruder. In the eyes of Dune City, she would be a death-row traitor.
Behind the glass, the atmosphere was suffocating. The brothers watched as the "twins" stood locked in a struggle, their identical faces a haunting proof of a connection that could destroy everything.
Despite Yue Yue’s desperate attempts to push him away, the boy was surprisingly strong.
He surged forward and pulled her into a crushing embrace, locking his arms around her as if he were trying to merge their bodies into one. He buried his face in her shoulder, his breathing heavy and ragged.
"Sister, I know you are scared," he whispered in a muffled, trembling voice. "I know you were kidnapped by these monsters. I know they have probably threatened you or brainwashed you. But don’t worry anymore. Your brother is here. I have found you, and I will never let anyone harm you again."
Yue Yue felt a chill run down her spine. His voice was thick with emotion, sounding like a man who had truly lost and found his most precious treasure.
But then, his posture changed. He turned his head slightly toward the wall...the very wall where the two-way mirror was hidden. Even though he couldn’t see the princes, his eyes flashed with a deep, dark hatred as if he knew they were watching.
He leaned closer to Yue Yue’s ear, lowering his voice until it was just a faint breath that the microphones in the room could barely pick up.
"Sister, listen to me," he murmured. "Don’t worry about anything. I have planned everything perfectly. Soon, we will leave this gods-forsaken place. You won’t be held captive anymore. You won’t have to play their games."
Yue Yue struggled violently in his grip, her face turning red from the effort. "I am not a captive!" she hissed, trying to shove his chest away. "I came here willingly! No one is forcing me to stay! You don’t understand anything!"
The boy pulled back just enough to look at her, his expression filled with a sickening kind of pity. "Sister, you don’t have to lie to me. I know you’re terrified. That’s why you’re saying these things. You’re trying to protect yourself. But you just have to wait. Soon, we will get out."
He leaned back in, his voice becoming more urgent and cold. "I have already contacted very powerful people in the Land Empire. They are willing to help us escape this desert. They have the ships, the weapons, and the power to crush this city. But... we have to pay a price. We have to repay them for their help."
Yue Yue froze. A sense of dread filled her stomach. "What are you talking about? What help? Who are these people?"
The boy’s next words shattered any hope Yue Yue had that he was a "good" person.
"It’s a simple task, sister. To repay the men who are coming for us, you just have to do one thing. You just have to get pregnant by one of the princes."
Yue Yue’s heart stopped. She stared at him in pure horror.
"If you get pregnant, those powerful men will have a reason to take us out of here immediately. They want the bloodline," he whispered, sounding completely insane.
"I have already planned everything. You just have to do this, and then we will be free. I’m doing this for us, sister. I’m trying to save you."
The shock was so great that a sudden, explosive strength surged through Yue Yue’s small frame.
She shoved him back with all her might, breaking his hold. Before he could react, she raised her hand and delivered a stinging, bone-deep slap across his face.
Smack!
The sound echoed in the quiet room. The boy’s head snapped to the side, a red mark blooming on his cheek.
"Shut up!" Yue Yue screamed, her voice cracking with disgust. "What nonsense are you saying? Have you lost your mind? Are you even sane?"
She couldn’t stay in that room for another second. The air felt poisonous. She turned and ran toward the heavy door, pounding on it with her fists until her knuckles turned white.
"Xing Luoguang! Open the door!" she cried out, tears streaming down her face. "Please! I don’t want to stay here! Open it now!"
