"You ungrateful bird!" she hissed, her little white tail rattling in anger. "If you do that again, I am leaving! I will let you turn into a degenerate beast and you can be a crazy bird forever!"
But the Phoenix didn’t seem to care about her threats. Seeing the little white snake move and hiss only made him more interested.
He leaned down again, his beak clicking. He seemed to think she was a very entertaining toy or a very stubborn worm.
Tack! He pecked her tail this time, flipping her over onto her back.
Yue Yue flailed her little white body, trying to get upright. She was absolutely fuming.

Its beak stayed open, and it tilted its head, blinking its glowing red eyes in confusion. It had never seen a "snack" fight back with such bossy energy.
Yue Yue didn’t waste the moment. While the bird was stunned, she lunged forward. She didn’t bite him to hurt him; instead, she wrapped her long, slender white body tightly around his talons.
Suddenly, hundreds of soft, pink spiritual tendrils sprouted from Yue Yue’s scales. They looked like glowing ribbons of light. These tendrils began to spread out in all directions, wrapping around the Phoenix’s legs, its tattered wings, and finally, its shaking neck.
