Chapter 464: The Divine Rescue
[The City Gate.]
High upon the hijacked city walls, the oppressive red glow of the blood barrier cast a sickening light over the obsidian stone. The air was stale, reeking of dark magic and trapped despair.
"I am so tired of standing!" One of the guards yelled, leaning heavily against the battlements. He stood on the city wall, staring out at the vibrant, resource-rich land outside the barrier that they were forbidden to touch.
"Yes, it’s not like someone will attack us when this barrier is active, even the Moon Goddess is powerless with this thing active." The second continued, his grip loose on a long, pulsating immortal-rank spear. The weapon hummed with a dark vitality, but even its power paled in comparison to the absolute defense of the dome.
A wicked, depraved thought crossed his mind. "I say we head back and enjoy some slaves, standing all day isn’t good for the health." The second muttered with a smirk, imagining the tormented souls locked within the castle dungeons.
But almost instantly, a shiver of pure terror ran down his spine as he remembered the towering, monstrous presence of their leader. "No can do... If we leave our post and something unexpected happened, we will be killed by the clan Head... So I will rather stand here still my shift comes." The second shook his head lightly, not moving an inch, his cowardice overriding his lust.
The third stared at the two, rolling his eyes at their idle chatter. He turned his head casually to the West side of the barrier to check the perimeter, and suddenly, his breath hitched. He was completely stunned, seeing a massive, blinding white pillar of light cutting through the atmosphere.
"Hey!! What’s that?!!" He yelled in shock, pointing a trembling finger at the celestial light.
The others turned to the light in sheer disbelief. It was right outside the barrier, striking the earth with silent, divine precision. If they hadn’t seen the glow illuminating the dark forest edge, they wouldn’t have even detected a ripple of energy.
"Come on!!"
The first yelled, kicking off the stone wall and flying desperately towards the location, the other two following closely behind, their immortal spears drawn.
"What the?"
The three guards hovered in mid-air, entirely dumbfounded, staring down at the thousands of people standing below the pillar of light.
"Wait! Aren’t those our slaves?!!" One asked in shock, his eyes wide open in absolute disbelief. He recognized the tattered rags and the branded flesh of the captives.
"How did they get here?!! And they’re still appearing!!" The second exclaimed in horror, watching as reality warped and spat out hundreds more bodies every passing second, completely bypassing their impenetrable blood barrier.
"Sound the Alarm!! Someone is helping the slaves, we must stop this!!" The third yelled at the two, panic seizing his throat.
The other two looked at one another in utter confusion, realizing the fatal flaw in his logic.
"But they are right outside the barrier, even if we sound the Alarm, who will go out and get them?" The second asked, holding his spear tightly. To leave the barrier meant exposing themselves to whatever god-like entity was performing this mass teleportation. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"You?" The third was speechless, his face paling as he realized neither of them had the courage to face the unknown.
"This is way out of our league, anyone that can teleport this amount of people outside our barrier isn’t simple, we must alert the leaders," the first concluded rapidly. He turned around, and without waiting for their response, he flew towards the Clan Head’s imposing central building as fast as his aura could carry him.
The remaining two stared at the retreating black-armored guard for some seconds, the silence stretching uncomfortably between them. They looked at one another, their bravado completely shattered.
"What are we going to do?"
"Of course, wait."
___
[Outside The Barrier.]
WHOOSH!!
More people appeared right outside the barrier, materializing onto the soft, untainted grass. They looked at one another in mass confusion, blinking against the sudden, pure moonlight.
All of them had been tortured, abused, and beaten to the extreme limits of mortal endurance. It was a harrowing sight—not to mention 70% of them were females, hoarded by the Evil Blood Clan for their twisted desires.
’My People, don’t be scared... You have suffered a lot, today. I will avenge you; all is well, you are safe.’
"....?!"
They all froze, the gentle, soothing resonance of Tan Suey’s voice echoing directly into their fractured minds. It was a voice woven with lunar laws and absolute compassion.
"It’s the Moon Goddess!" One yelled in shock, dropping to her bruised knees as hot tears rolled down her cheeks. The paralyzing fear that had gripped them for months finally broke.
Nearby, the four noble ladies held tightly onto the unconscious Queen. As tears rolled down their dirt-streaked faces, a profound sense of relief washed over them; after months of unspeakable torture, they were finally saved.
A brilliant white pillar of lunar light descended from the sky, warmly enveloping the survivors, and the next moment, they all vanished from the city entrance, transported safely to Tan Suey’s divine sanctuary.
High above, Sunny stood completely still in the air. His golden eyes were closed, his entire focus and attention fixed on scanning the sprawling city, locating the vital signs of the innocent, and plucking them through the spatial void. He was completely unaware that Tan Suey was staring at him in a complex mix of surprise, awe, and profound shock.
’How can he be so powerful?’ she thought, moving her silver gaze over Sunny’s perfectly composed body. Without warning, her heart skipped a beat, and her flawless face reddened in sudden embarrassment.
’Too bad he is already married, and won’t even look at another woman,’ she sighed internally, forcing her errant thoughts down and turning her gaze back to the people still appearing rapidly outside the city.
’He could teleport thousands of people in an instant, just how deep is his energy?’ she thought, marveling at his stamina. She was entirely unaware of the monstrous truth: Sunny possessed not only raw Primordial energy, but also celestial energy, spirit energy, and pure mana. All of these distinct power sources were constantly, endlessly being refilled by the passive regeneration of his Ancient Bloodlines. In a simpler form: due to Sunny’s monstrous physical foundation, he effectively possessed unlimited energy.
"I think that’s all."
Sunny finally opened his golden eyes. He turned his head to Tan Suey, who quickly looked away, her face flushed red, acting as if she had been observing the clouds.
"Yes, Yes! I already teleported them away," she quickly said, clearing her throat to regain her composure. She snapped her elegant fingers, and a heavy, glowing pouch containing 50 billion Primordial stones instantly appeared before Sunny.
Sunny smoothly took the pouch floating before him, feeling the immense, concentrated wealth within, and securely stored it in his spatial storage.
"Aren’t you going to count it?" Tan Suey asked in surprise. Usually, beings dealing in such massive sums of stones were painfully meticulous.
"No need for that, besides, will a realm ruler deceive someone?" He asked calmly, turning his piercing gaze back to the red-domed city below.
Tan Suey pouted her lips, a surprisingly human gesture for a goddess, and crossed her arms. "Then what will you do about them?"
Sunny narrowed his eyes, looking at her with a calculating side-eye. ’She seems more comfortable now... Seems she doesn’t see me as a threat anymore. Anyway, that’s a good thing... Friending a realm ruler who cares this much about her people is a good thing,’ he thought, analyzing the shift in her posture. He nodded his head, his golden eyes flashing with a dangerous, lethal intent.
"Of course, I am breaking this barrier."
He snapped his fingers. Instantly, the very fabric of space behind him tore open with a violent crack, and a swirling, dark dimensional gateway appeared.
"What are you doing now!" Tan Suey asked in confusion, stepping back from the sheer gravitational pull of the portal.
"I told you I am here to avenge someone, I am bringing her now..." Sunny answered, his cold, resolute words stunning Tan Suey into silence.
BAM!
The very fabric of space before them cracked open with a deafening, concussive boom, shattering like fragile glass under immense pressure. The swirling dark vortex of the dimensional gateway stabilized, and the next moment, a beautiful middle-aged woman stepped out into the freezing upper atmosphere.
The moment her boots left the void, the air around her warped violently as the undeniable Aura of a Transcendent burst out from her. To a mortal, this overwhelming pressure would force them to their knees, but in the presence of two literal gods, it was merely a strong breeze.
"Who is this?" Tan Suey asked with a raised eyebrow, staring intently at the black-haired lady. The Moon Goddess analyzed the newcomer, instantly cataloging the dark, lethal energy swirling within her.
"Well, this here is my previous enemy, and now my ally... Her name is Lilith," Sunny introduced with a small, unbothered smile, gesturing casually toward the Transcendent as if introducing an old friend at a tavern, rather than a former nemesis on a battlefield.
"Your Previous enemy?" Tan Suey turned to him in absolute surprise, her silver eyes widening.
"What? Why are you surprised?" Sunny raised an eyebrow at her, genuinely confused by her sudden shift in demeanor.
"Well, you don’t seem like someone who will spare his enemy... Besides, looking at this child before me, she has the curves and everything --"
Tan Suey paused abruptly.
She found herself staring directly at Sunny’s palm, which was suddenly and firmly raised in front of her face, effectively halting her train of thought like a physical brick wall.
"Is there only bad thoughts in that head of yours? She is just my ally, nothing more!" Sunny snapped, staring at Tan Suey with a look of profound exasperation. He couldn’t fathom why this ancient, supposedly wise Realm Ruler was so obsessively convinced he was trying to build a harem.
Tan Suey crossed her arms, a rare flush of insecurity crossing her divine features. As a deity of the celestial bodies, Tan Suey was undeniably a young and beautiful lady, possessing a slender, untouchable, ethereal grace. But standing before Lilith’s worldly, mature body, her devastating curves, and well, melons, the Moon Goddess felt she failed drastically in the sheer department of raw, earthly feminine allure. The physical contrast between the goddess and the voluptuous Transcendent was stark, feeding into Tan Suey’s wildly inaccurate assumptions about Sunny’s motives for sparing her.
Meanwhile, caught entirely in the crossfire of this bizarre divine bickering, Lilith hovered silently in the air. She stared at the two Realm Rulers—supreme beings who held the power to unmake solar systems—arguing over her figure like petty nobles.
She let out a long, heavy breath and sighed, completely feeling out of place. The passive, invisible weight of their godhood pressed down on her soul, reminding her that despite her Transcendent rank, she was merely a mortal standing in the company of absolute monsters.
