Chapter 465: The Clash Of Authority
[The City Walls.]
"Who Dares take my things!!!!"
Sunny and Tan Suey immediately stopped their bickering and turned their attention to the city below. Standing fiercely on the obsidian peak of the city wall was the bald-headed Clan Head, Hangbor. He was already clad in a grotesque, blood-red armor that pulsed with dark magic. Arrayed intimidatingly behind him were Vernon and the remaining four elders of the Evil Blood Clan, their killing intent spiking into the heavens.
"Hangbor, how dare you refer to my people as "Things"?!!" Tan Suey yelled from the sky, her divine voice reverberating all over the city like a thunderclap, vibrating with months of repressed anger.
"Your People?! Please, you’re just a weak Realm Ruler, you don’t scare us!" Hangbor yelled back at her, his voice amplified by blood magic, aggressively refusing to lose to Tan Suey’s divine volume.
High above, Sunny observed the posturing warlord with a critical, glowing eye. He sensed the depth of the man’s aura, expecting a cosmic threat, but found only a localized tyrant.
"Hmm... A True God, one class below a Realm Ruler... Too bad, I actually thought he’s a Realm Ruler," Sunny said with a heavy sigh, his tone dripping with genuine, profound disappointment. He had come ready for a war of gods, not to swat a fly.
"Tan Suey, I thought the leader of the Evil blood clan was already a Realm Ruler, I didn’t know he’s still a True God," he added, glancing sideways at the Moon Goddess.
"Realm Ruler Sunny, To become a Genuine Realm Ruler, you must have a realm to rule and linked with... Out of the hundreds of realms rulers in existence, only five managed to create their own realm and become genuine Realm Ruler... The rest are just clowns," Tan Suey explained. Her tone was firm, highlighting the vast, almost insurmountable cosmic threshold between simply accumulating power and actually forging the laws of a universe.
"And you still couldn’t defeat these clowns," Sunny exhaled, lightly shaking his head at the irony of her grand explanation.
"These clowns are tricky and cunning, it’s only normal I couldn’t get rid of them... They also know this, which is why they remain in that barrier," Tan Suey quickly defended herself, her silver gaze fixed resentfully on the pulsating red dome enveloping the city.
’What Tan Suey said about the Realm Rulers in the world is true...’ Sunny thought, his mind wandering briefly to his own grand designs. ’I am currently creating my own worlds... Once I completely create my world, life will be formed, and I will be the supreme Ruler... That will make five realms.’
Pulling his focus back to the present, Sunny slowly pointed a single, steady finger directly at the seemingly impenetrable blood barrier.
"I should take away their greatest advantage then," he said effortlessly.
"Hahaha!! It seems you’re her backup! You can’t do anything, this barrier was given to us by the Devil Ruler!! You can’t destroy it!" Hangbor laughed maniacally, completely drunk on the absolute defense the dome provided.
"Devil Ruler?" Sunny frowned slightly. Having absorbed Ezekiel’s complete memories, he knew the terrifying history and the world-ending potential of this Devil Ruler. In fact, it was the exact reason he was currently hunting down the Ancient Beasts for their power.
"Your Devil Ruler is indeed strong, but he isn’t here to protect you," Sunny said flatly, a chilling, confident smile slowly creeping onto his face.
Tan Suey and Lilith stared at him in absolute awe. Even when hearing the dreaded name of the being that terrified the cosmos, his spirit wasn’t shaken in the slightest; instead, the challenge merely brought a smile to his face.
"You are arrogant and Ignorant! You think you can---"
Hangbor froze mid-sentence. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
High above him, the invincible, god-given barrier suddenly let out an agonizing crack.
"...?!"
He and his elite members were completely stunned, their arrogant smirks melting into expressions of sheer, unadulterated horror.
"The Barrier? It... It actually cracked?"
Before their stunned, wide eyes, the very fabric of reality bent and shifted under Sunny’s command. The next moment, a cacophony of shattering glass echoed as more deep, glowing cracks appeared on the barrier, spreading violently all over the dome like a massive, bloody spiderweb, and...
BOOOOM!!!!
The whole barrier shattered into millions of jagged, ethereal shards. The violent, uncontrolled backlash of the destroyed magic descended mercilessly towards the city, instantly shattering everything within its path into pulverized ruins.
BOOOOOOM!!!!
"....?!"
Tan Suey whipped her head around to look at Sunny, who merely lowered his face, his expression completely calm and unbothered by the sheer destruction. She blinked, her breath catching in her throat, and turned back to the city. Staring at the smoldering ruins below, she realized that miraculously, not a single civilian building had suffered the backlash—only the compounds heavily saturated with the Evil Blood Clan’s foul energy were wiped from existence.
’That attack... If you’re below the Saint class, you won’t survive it,’ she thought, a cold bead of sweat appearing on her flawless forehead as she realized the apocalyptic scale of his precision.
_
"YOU BASTARD!!!!"
A loud, blood-curdling roar burst out from the center of the ruins. Ten heavily injured, blood-soaked figures shot out from the debris, hovering unsteadily in the air, stopping exactly 100 meters away from Sunny and his group.
"You?!! Who are you?!!" Hangbor yelled in absolute rage, his once-glorious armor cracked and seeping dark energy.
"You can call me the Ruler of all Rulers."
Sunny casually snapped his fingers. Instantly, ten gigantic, ethereal swords materialized from the void behind him. The weapons emanated so much condensed, lethal energy that everyone present felt a deep, primal chill run violently down their spines. The space around the blades warped, eager to taste blood.
"Good Sir, can’t we talk this out?" Hangbor suddenly asked, his face contorting into a sickeningly sweet, flattering smile, his earlier arrogance completely and utterly gone.
".....?!"
Tan Suey was completely dumbfounded. Her jaw practically dropped. Is this still the arrogant, genocidal Evil Blood Clan’s leader? Hangbor’s internal thoughts, however, was a chaotic mess of pure terror:
’Are you kidding me? He shattered the Devil Ruler’s barrier with a flick of his wrist and killed 99% of my members in the backlash! We ten are the only ones remaining... And those swords.’ Hangbor swallowed a heavy lump in his throat. ’We can’t withstand it. Run??’ He quickly turned his eyes to Tan Suey:
’She won’t let us roam her realm, we are dead no matter what, but pleading with this monster might be the only thing that can save our lives,’ he thought desperately.
Lilith stared at the pathetic display of the True Gods before her and slowly lowered her gaze to the ruined ground. She had been right all along; the gap between a True God and a true Realm Ruler was truly like the insurmountable difference between heaven and earth.
"I have one question," she heard Sunny say, his voice cutting through the tense air like a physical blade.
"Anything! I will answer anything the Senior ask!" the man quickly answered, bowing his head in total submission.
"Why did your clan massacre the Black Origin Clan?" he asked.
His words were sharp, causing Lilith’s head to snap up as she looked at him in total, breathless surprise.
’I thought he will forgive them,’ she thought, her heart pounding as she realized Sunny hadn’t brought her here just to witness a slaughter—he had brought her here for closure.
