Chapter 83: Do You Hear That Sound?
The corner of Theodore’s lips twitched when he heard Chelsea’s words; he did not expect that the woman would be so brave as to speak openly like that to him. Theodore then chose to seat himself next to Chelsea. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"Since you say so, then I won’t pretend anymore." Theodore shrugged his shoulders indifferently.
"Why did you lie about your strength?" Chelsea couldn’t figure out why Theodore was still hiding his strength even though he was already in a safe place.
"More important than that, do you know what my power is?" Theodore wanted to make sure of what Chelsea had seen about his strength; after that, he would determine what he would do to Chelsea.
Unable to directly answer Theodore’s question, Chelsea needed clarification on Theodore’s power. Chelsea has seen other power users, such as her brother, Cassian, who has the power to manipulate metal.
Chelsea also knew Neville well. She knew that Neville’s power was quite unique because he had super hearing and was very sensitive to sound. It’s just that Chelsea needs to understand Theodore’s power.
From Chelsea’s observations, Theodore has great combat power but is also vital in battle. But, from what Chelsea saw then, she knew that Theodore’s strength was not about his explosive power.
"Actually, I don’t understand your power. I saw clearly that you could obliterate the item in your hand. I’m sure you can summon that item, too." Chelsea spoke seriously.
Unexpectedly, Chelsea only thought she could store and summon items. Fortunately, she didn’t know that he had a personal dimension.
Then Theodore didn’t have to worry about the sacred dimension that could be known by others. It was difficult to connect what Chelsea saw with the existence of his sacred dimension.
"Indeed, I can only do that. I know it’s not much use, so I hid it," Theodore replied, trying to follow Chelsea’s understanding.
"Even if your ability isn’t beneficial, at least you don’t have to lie about the fact that you’re also a power user." Chelsea was upset with Theodore because he was hiding his powers like his brother.
"I know I’m wrong about that. But, for some reason, can you not tell anyone about this power of mine?" Although Theodore knew Chelsea didn’t know about his sacred dimension, he didn’t want the others to know either.
Unconvinced, Chelsea glanced at Theodore sarcastically; she did not expect that Theodore still wanted to ask her not to say anything about her power.
"Why do you want to hide that fact?" Still waiting for Theodore’s explanation, Chelsea asked this again.
"Nothing won’t be good for me if other people discover I have powers," Theodore said coldly this time.
Theodore understood very well that revealing his strength would benefit no one; it would be better if people continued to think he had no strength. Even now, Theodore was busy; he couldn’t imagine what Victor would do if he found out that he had powers.
Chelsea could also sense that Theodore didn’t like it when people knew about his powers, so she decided to follow his wishes and keep her mouth shut.
"For now, I will comply with your request. But you must remember that I know your secret," Chelsea said with a grin.
"You should also know that I don’t mind silencing someone if necessary," Theodore replied sweetly.
After saying that, Theodore got up from his position and intended to leave. But before leaving, Theodore said something to Chelsea: "I hope you are smart enough to choose what you have to do at this time," he said without turning to Chelsea.
Chelsea saw Theodore’s departure with annoyance. She knew that Theodore’s words earlier were not lies, even though he had said them like a joke.
"Indeed, I don’t need to play around with people like him." Chelsea’s face turned serious when Theodore was no longer there.
Meanwhile, Theodore went straight to the soldiers and a few unharmed people from Cassian’s group. They had to organize a guard schedule until Roderick and Cassian returned.
"Organize a group of two to do the night watch. The others can sleep and rest while the others are on guard," Theodore said after being near them.
"We’ve already arranged it. You’d better rest now. We don’t want to trouble you further," said one of the soldiers who had fought alongside Theodore.
"Don’t worry about it. I intend to go around here. Call me if there’s anything suspicious," Theodore replied later.
Theodore guessed that Roderick had said something to his subordinates before he left. He didn’t expect even his fellow soldiers to tell him to take a break like this.
The people were also quite surprised to hear that Theodore intended to go around, but they knew they could not prevent Theodore.
"Alright!" The soldiers could only agree to Theodore’s words and let him wander around.
Theodore honestly thought this place was very suspicious, even though he knew that Victor had labeled it safe. But no matter how secure a place was, zombies would still roam around.
They hadn’t seen a single zombie in this place until now. Theodore felt uneasy when things went too smoothly like this, just like he felt when they encountered the giant zombie.
"There’s no way that damn thing is here either," Theodore muttered as he shook his head.
With Victor absent, it was impossible for their group to escape the giant zombies. So Theodore hoped the source of his current unrest wasn’t the giant zombies.
Therefore, Theodore decided to walk around this place once more; he still couldn’t accept that there were no zombies.
Theodore would be calmer if only he could find zombies at this time. That way, he wouldn’t have to worry about the existence of giant zombies. Besides, the military still didn’t know how giant zombies could be in the hospital then.
Since the day they returned to the base after the mission at the hospital, Theodore never saw Doctor Christopher again. For some reason, he suspected the hospital had something to do with the giant zombie.
However, Theodore had no proof of his claim. After getting lost in his thoughts, he felt he had walked far enough and still hadn’t seen any.
"I’d better go back." Theodore turned around and returned to where the others were gathered.
Theodore unexpectedly heard a dog barking in the distance. The night was so quiet that human ears could still hear sounds from a long distance.
Theodore frowned when he realized that the dog barking was coming from the direction of the school building.
