Chapter 67: Is This a Threat?

From a distance, Theodore looked at Noah, who was smiling at him. He felt something strange about that person; he did not usually take the initiative to meet him. Moreover, Theodore knew very well that Noah didn’t like him at all.

"How strange that he called me," Theodore muttered in confusion.

"Do you know him?" Geoffrey, who saw Theodore’s reaction, was not too happy with Noah’s call. He also guessed that the person was not too close to Theodore.

"I know him. You can go first; I’ll catch up with you later," Theodore replied as he told Geoffrey to leave first.

Since Theodore had told him that, Geoffrey nodded his head and started walking away from Theodore, who started walking in the direction of Noah.

Before turning the corner, Geoffrey glanced in the direction of Theodore and Noah, who seemed to be talking at the moment. When he saw Noah before, Geoffrey felt like he had seen that person before, but he forgot where.

Because Geoffrey was still unsure if he had seen that man, so he didn’t say anything to Theodore.

Meanwhile, Theodore, who had approached Noah, immediately asked him what he wanted to say because he had to go to the west gate of West gate immediately.

"I knew you had to go to the west gate. That’s why I called you. I have something to tell you," Noah said with the corners of his lips raised, looking mysterious.

"Leave something?" Theodore frowned in confusion at Noah’s strange words.

Noah took something out of his jacket pocket without responding to Theodore’s words. Theodore saw Noah take out a small box, and he was pretty curious about what it was, but when he wanted to ask, Noah cut him off.

"Please give this box to my friend at the west gate. And remember not to open it!" Noah looked at Theodore sharply at the end of his sentence.

"If you want me not to see the contents, why don’t you just give it to him yourself?" Theodore looked at Noah strangely.

"I don’t have that much time to run to the west gate!" Noah rolled his eyes lazily.

Theodore took the small box and turned to leave Noah. He was tired of arguing with the young man, so he decided to get out of there quickly so that he wouldn’t get more annoyed with him.

From a distance, Theodore heard Noah yelling at him.

"Remember not to open that box!" Without Theodore seeing, Noah grinned wickedly as he watched Theodore walk away.

Theodore becomes very annoyed at Noah but restrains and walks faster to reach where the people working at the west gate are gathered.

Fortunately, Theodore didn’t have to walk too far because they were already close to arriving at the place where they would gather.

Geoffrey immediately ran over to Theodore when he saw him coming as he said, "Are you alright?" Feeling the cold aura around Theodore, Geoffrey asked timidly.

"Yes, when are we leaving?" Theodore exhaled softly, then turned to Geoffrey, walking beside him.

"Walter hasn’t arrived yet, so we must wait first," Geoffrey replied seriously. He dared not joke at this time.

"Alright." Theodore then followed Geoffrey to sit around the military car that was already there.

They sat awkwardly. Geoffrey did not dare to start a conversation with Theodore then because he felt that Theodore was not in a good mood to talk.

The other workers were already there. They gathered around Geoffrey and Theodore and started talking. Geoffrey also seemed to be having a friendly conversation. They just needed to wait for Walter’s arrival.

"I’m sorry, let’s go now!" Walter, who was late, immediately rushed to invite the other workers to get in the military car.

As the others climbed into the military car individually, Theodore walked towards the friend Noah had mentioned earlier. He had no intention of carrying the box for too long.

"Noah left this with you." Theodore handed over the box and walked away.

Theodore didn’t care about that person anymore and chose to get into the car his entourage was traveling in. During the trip, Theodore was silent with a bent face. People were looking at Geoffrey to secretly ask what had happened to Theodore.

Geoffrey realized it and could only shrug his shoulders, not knowing because he did not know what Theodore was up to.

Theodore remained silent because he was shocked by what he had learned from the system. Because Noah had previously ensured he could not see the box’s contents, Theodore didn’t do it.

But Theodore was not that stupid. He immediately asked the system to help him find out what was in the small box that Noah had given him.

The system told him that inside the box was only a piece of paper that looked like a letter. Theodore wasn’t surprised when he heard that because it wasn’t surprising that some people exchanged letters like that because communication was difficult at this time.

What surprised Theodore was when he told the system to find out what Noah had written on the paper.

"You’re really sure, right, system?" Theodore still couldn’t believe what the system had told him earlier.

[Yes, the system will not give false information to the host. The paper said, ’Three more days to prepare for the north gate.’ The system would never make a mistake]

"I’m becoming increasingly suspicious of them at this rate." Theodore could only roar in frustration inside his head.

Theodore was about to scream in anger when he felt someone patting his back hard. Fortunately, Theodore could restrain himself because Walter was the person who patted him. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"We’ve arrived. Are you okay? Your face looks pale," Walter said, looking a little worried.

Theodore shook his hand quickly. "Of course not. I’m fine. Sorry to trouble you," he said, forcing himself to smile to show that he was fine.

To avoid being asked again by Walter, Theodore immediately moved quickly to get out of the military car and walked quickly to catch up with the others who were already preparing to work.

As before, Theodore invited the soldiers, helping them stand guard around the workers below. That day, they were busy keeping the zombies from invading the base.

In addition, Theodore occasionally glanced at the top of the wall where Noah’s friends were, and he became curious about what they would do at the north gate.

Theodore decided to pick up Roxanne at the north gate tonight to find more information, but to avoid looking suspicious, he said he would take Geoffrey along later.
