Chapter 54: Find You!

Now that there were more of them, it took longer to search the remaining rooms on the second floor. To complete the search quickly, they divided their troops into groups of two and spread out to the remaining areas that hadn’t been checked.

Fortunately, Theodore was traveling with Roderick; at least he could influence him to help him convince Victor to take immediate steps to deal with the giant zombie so they could save Doctor Christopher.

"Do you think Victor can handle the giant zombie?" Theodore provoked a conversation with Roderick while searching the VIP treatment room on the second floor. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Theodore glanced at Roderick out of the corner of his eye and saw that he didn’t really mind the question. Victor’s strength seemed not too noticeable for now, so they still didn’t know how strong Victor really was.

"I don’t know. It looks like even with the captain here, we’ll still have a hard time fighting those giant zombies." Roderick continued to search the area and casually answered Theodore’s question.

"I see. Then how can we save Doctor Christopher?" said Theodore, intending to provoke a conversation about Doctor Christopher.

"I hope we can find the doctor in the remaining rooms on the second floor," Roderick replied.

Roderick hoped they could find Doctor Christopher in an area they had yet to explore; he didn’t want to fight the giant zombie. Either way, there would most likely be casualties if they forced themselves to fight the giant zombie.

When Roderick was lost in thought, Theodore said something to Roderick that made Roderick think.

"Somehow, I feel that the doctor is indeed in the laboratory. Wouldn’t this mission be too easy if we found the doctor in this row of VIP treatment rooms?" Theodore stood in his place and turned to the silent Roderick.

"I’d rather this mission be completed easily," Roderick replied with a stiff face, although in his heart, he also felt terrible about their expedition this time.

"We’d better hurry up and finish this quest." Theodore again reminded them to quickly finish their business here. There were still quite a few rooms they had to check.

After finishing checking the room while carrying a bag that had begun to fill with useful items, the two of them began to enter another room and continued to do so until the area given to them was completed.

Fortunately, they finished the search quickly. They could only find medical equipment such as IV fluids or syringes and found no sign of Doctor Christopher.

When Theodore and Roderick returned to the counter where they had gathered, they could see from a distance that many people had already returned from their search.

Theodore tried to approach the people who had completed their search. He happened to see Noah among them, so he made him his first target.

"Hey, we’re meeting again; last night was too chaotic. I didn’t realize your presence yesterday." Theodore began to approach Noah and his group.

While Noah didn’t seem too happy about Theodore’s arrival, he did his best not to show his displeasure on his face.

"Thanks to you, we were able to get to the second floor safely," Noah said with a forced smile.

"I should have helped you guys; we’re in the same group. By the way, did you find any trace of Doctor Christopher in your search?" Theodore didn’t want to prolong the conversation, so he immediately said what he wanted to ask Noah.

Noah shrugged his shoulders indifferently and said, "We didn’t find anything. What about you?"

"It’s the same; we can’t find Doctor Christopher’s whereabouts either," Theodore replied with a heavy sigh.

However, Theodore secretly saw through the tail of Noah’s eyes that Noah was grinning, and he became suspicious of his movements. Although Theodore already felt that Noah didn’t like him much, he didn’t expect him to react so mockingly to him.

Even though he knew, Theodore remained silent and pretended not to notice what Noah was doing. He just assumed that Noah knew something.

At the same time, Theodore saw that Victor and his group had returned with gloomy faces. Theodore could tell they had also failed to find any trace of Doctor Christopher.

However, without Theodore expecting it, he saw Noah, with a big smile, moving towards Victor, and they chatted seriously.

Seeing that he couldn’t get close enough to them to overhear what they were talking about, Theodore decided to rejoin Roderick and the rest of the group.

"Looks like your friend got the hint," Roderick said when he saw Theodore walking towards him.

"He’s not my friend, but you’re right. He seems to have found something," Theodore replied, agreeing with one of Roderick’s words.

"Apparently, he didn’t tell you, huh? But with him talking to the captain like that, doesn’t it show that he does have information?" one of the soldiers in their group voiced out.

Theodore chuckled softly when he heard the young soldier’s words, "He does want me to know that he has something," Theodore replied casually.

Roderick, who heard Theodore’s answer, could only shake his head. The longer he looked at Theodore, the more he felt that he should avoid conflict with the young man.

"Take it easy. The captain will definitely tell us if they find any clues," Roderick said to calm the others so that they would stop gossiping about others.

Hearing Roderick speak, the others choose to remain silent and no longer address Theodore’s words. freeweɓnøvel.com

And as Roderick said, Victor did gather them after everyone returned from their search.

Theodore also did what Victor said in silence; as much as possible, he did not want to be the center of attention. Theodore listened quietly to what Victor was about to announce.

"One of our friends found a clue that Doctor Christopher is in the laboratory. That means we have to do something to get into the lab." Victor began to explain what they had to face now.

Although they were pretty shocked by the news Victor announced but would not make a sound, they still patiently waited for Victor to continue his explanation.

"Given that we don’t have much time left, we must move now!" With a heavy voice, Victor had decided that they would move now.

Theodore did not object to Victor’s decision because they had to move faster now. It’s just that Theodore still thinks they need a plan to subvert the giant zombie.

At least if they couldn’t defeat the giant zombie, they still needed a way to distract the zombie so that one of them could get through and into the laboratory to save Doctor Christopher.

That was their current problem, as Theodore still didn’t know if Victor had a plan regarding this matter.
