Chapter 174: Split It Into Two
"You guys are scared. How bad is it at the entrance to the base?" With his arrogant face, Theodore began to provoke the people gathered there again.
"Wow! This guy is really annoying. I don’t know if you know that the number of zombies in the city is increasing, but in the entrance area, there are at least hundreds of thousands of zombies surrounding the place."
"If you dare, just go there."
"I’m sure he’s just talking big; there’s no way anyone would dare to enter the base entrance area."
The people began to look at Theodore sarcastically and decided to disperse, not wanting to continue talking to Theodore, who was looking very annoyed.
"This bastard dares to demonize me like that!" To confirm his arrogant character, Theodore started to get angry as people began leaving him alone.
After making sure that no one was paying attention to him anymore, Theodore walked away from there while ranting. He decided to find someone else to confirm the information he had gotten from these people. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
For almost half an hour, Theodore wandered around the streets looking for information. He also saw that Madeline and Cassian were walking around looking for the same information.
Finally, Theodore was able to confirm the information currently circulating. He also reunited with the others in Madeline’s car. They intended to unify the information they had gathered.
"So what do you know?" Madeline immediately asked the others for information that her friends had gathered.
"There are many of them who say that there are many zombies gathered at the base’s entrance," Theodore said, describing the information he had found.
"Not only that, the military said it was difficult to prevent the zombies from entering the base. So they need help to open the base gates. That’s why these people are still on the streets right now," Cassian explained the information he had gotten.
"The information I got isn’t far from that either. It looks like we need to eliminate the zombies to get into the base," Madeline replied, thinking that they should do something to help the military.
The others fell silent as they realized that they had to solve the problem of the zombies clustered in front of the base’s entrance gate, where there were hundreds of thousands of zombies.
"So, what should we do then?" Cassian turned to look at his two friends.
"It’s tough to exterminate those zombies because there are too many of them," Madeline replied, confused about what they should do now.
"Actually, we could just block the zombies with the special arrows we’re using," Theodore said, thinking that they could block the zombies’ movement so that the gate could be opened and let the cars in.
"Given that the protection from the magic scroll is still there, it looks like this plan is doable. But the problem is, are your special arrows enough to carry out this mission?" Madeline turned her head to look at Theodore.
"Take it easy. I can handle the matter of numbers. If you really want to carry out this plan, Cassian and I will open the road from the right and left. Then, when the front of the gate is empty, you go inside the base and tell them what we’re doing so they’ll have the courage to open the gate," Theodore explained their plan this time.
"I don’t mind doing that. Then carry out the plan immediately; it will be hazardous if it is already nighttime," Madeline replied, immediately agreeing with Theodore’s proposal.
"I’ll ask for two of your men who are good at driving. Cassian and I will do archery using special arrows. The remaining people can wait in the truck," Theodore continued later.
"Alright, I’ll take care of it right away." Madeline quickly got out of the car to send two of her men to accompany Theodore and Cassian.
Meanwhile, Theodore himself pulled Cassian to talk to him alone. In addition to Theodore having to buy ice and fire magic arrows from the system store, he also had to give Cassian some mana crystals to increase his strength.
"You still remember this, crystal, right?" Theodore took out a mana crystal from his pocket.
"This crystal again. Of course, I remember it; there’s no way I can forget the magic of this crystal," replied Cassian, whose eyes were immediately fixed on the mana crystal.
"I’ll give you a few grains of this crystal. Remember to use it when you feel that the power in your body is running out," Theodore said in a low voice, reminding Cassian to use the crystal only in essential moments.
"Oh my! You have this many crystals?" Cassian was shocked when Theodore handed him five of the mana crystals.
"Not that many. That’s why I asked you to use them only when it’s important," Theodore replied as he rolled his eyes lazily.
"I know how valuable those crystals are, so, of course, I’ll use them wisely," Cassian replied, nodding his head in understanding.
"Then, do you know what we should do?" Theodore made sure that Cassian understood what they should do next.
"Take it easy. I’ve got it. I’ll shoot the ice arrows first, then when the zombies are frozen, I’ll just shoot the fire arrows to burn them." Cassian already knew the method they used to clear the way before.
"Use that to clear the center area only. After that, we’ll use ice arrows alone to create an ice barricade. Then, use fire arrows to finish off the remaining zombies on our own side," Theodore continued to explain their advanced plan.
"Alright, I got it." Cassian tried to remember the plan while nodding his head.
After that, Madeline called them back and told Chelsea and Neville to move to the truck. That car would be used to get closer to the front gate of the base.
"I’ve gathered two good drivers. We can go now," Madeline said after finishing preparing their plan.
Theodore also bought fire and ice magic arrows, giving Cassian about 200 arrows each, and he brought his own share.
"Use those arrows well," Theodore told Cassian before placing them in different cars.
Cassian nodded his head in understanding. Cassian would ride in Madeline’s group’s car, and Theodore and Madeline would be in Theodore’s car.
When they arrived in the car, Theodore reminded Madeline about her part. After that, their car began to drive towards the base’s front gate.
The people gathered around the street began to stare at the two cars approaching the base’s front gate.
They did not expect that there would be people who dared to approach the base gate because it had been almost two days since any group dared to approach there.
For some reason, they thought the people in the cars would most likely be devoured by the zombies in front of the base’s gate.
