Chapter 132: Kick Them Of
Theodore and the others went upstairs to clean the side of the room where they would be resting. Roxanne and Geoffrey put aside the scattered furniture while Theodore went to the staff room to take the mattress.
Lazy to lift the large mattress, Theodore decided to put it into his sacred dimension and leave immediately because, for some reason, he was uncomfortable in that room.
"Where’s that mattress you said?" Geoffrey tilted his head when he saw Theodore returning without carrying anything.
"I put it away," Theodore replied briefly with an indifferent attitude. "Did you tidy up the place?" Theodore continued to ask them. freёwebnovel.com
"Yes, we tried to tidy it up as much as possible," Roxanne replied. She nodded her head and showed him the side of the room by the window, which was already quite neat and clean.
Theodore walked over to it and took out the mattress he had gotten from inside his sacred dimension. "Well, we can rest here. It’s getting late; I’m sure the zombies outside will be more active," Theodore said as he stood by the large window.
"Will they come inside this salon?" Roxanne followed Theodore to look out of the window.
"I’m more afraid of other humans coming in here. The zombies won’t be attracted here if we’re quiet," Theodore explained, still staring outside.
"You are right, considering quite a few people are wandering around. It’ll be hard for us if another group attacks us, especially if they have evil intentions," Roxanne replied, realizing that what they had to fear were humans with evil intentions.
"Don’t worry; I’ll keep watch later." Theodore was already thinking of staying awake tonight. This was the first day they were out of base, with just the three like this.
It would be hazardous for them if they didn’t appoint someone on night watch because anything could happen. Moreover, many groups were seen around this suburban area.
"You don’t have to exert yourself. We can take turns patrolling; you. You still need to drive tomorrow, so don’t get any rest tonight." Roxanne immediately rejected Theodore’s idea of standing guard alone.
Ever since they were still with Cassian’s group, Roxanne knew Theodore always forced himself to stand guard at night. Roxanne knew Theodore would still be driving tomorrow, so he couldn’t stand guard alone all night.
Roxanne and Geoffrey were okay with the night watch. After all, they didn’t always want Theodore to sacrifice himself for them.
Seeing Roxanne’s earnest gaze, Theodore smiled slightly and nodded in understanding. "Then I’ll take the first part of the patrol; later, we’ll take turns," Theodore finally agreed to Roxanne’s suggestion.
"That’s right! Don’t worry, we won’t be negligent," Roxanne replied, happy that Theodore wasn’t too stubborn this time.
"Just wake me up immediately if anything suspicious happens later," Theodore reminded them to wake him up immediately.
"I’ll keep that in mind," Geoffrey replied enthusiastically.
"Then you can go to bed and rest. I’ll wake up one of you later," Theodore replied, immediately telling them both to sleep.
Because they couldn’t waste any time, Roxanne and Geoffrey immediately went to bed so that they could replace Theodore at night in this salon. Meanwhile, Theodore got up and chose to lurk in the corner of the room while staring out the window.
Stalking closely whatever passed by on the street in front of the salon, Theodore could not let anything and anyone disturb them. He would not hesitate to kill others who intended to harm them.
Throughout that night until midnight, Theodore focused on patrolling. It’s just that Theodore felt something strange when it almost touched 12 o’clock at night; suddenly, he felt unbearably sleepy.
When Theodore got up to wake Roxanne and Geoffrey, he felt his body sway, and slowly, his vision began to darken until he finally fell unconscious.
. . .
It took the system a moment for System to neutralize the effects of Theodore’s sudden debuff. When Theodore regained consciousness, he realized he had received notifications from the system
[Dangerous! Encountered outside interference]
[Detected a debuff hitting the host’s body!]
[Trying to neutralize the effect of the debuff...]
[Processing neutralization...]
[Neutralization successful!]
[system detected the presence of another person in the room!]
Theodore quickly opened his eyes and tried to get up, lying helplessly on the floor. Without seeing the notification from the system, I had already realized that there were other people in this building.
And Theodore suspected that they were the ones who made him get the debuff that caused him to lose consciousness. Fortunately, the person hadn’t reached the top floor yet, so Theodore still had time to save himself.
Theodore quickly woke up Roxanne and Geoffrey; it would have been hazardous if he had let them both fall asleep here. Moreover, Theodore didn’t wonder if just one person or a group came to the salon.
"Roxanne, Geoffrey! Wake up quickly!" Theodore said in a low voice, vigorously shaking both of their bodies so that they would wake up quickly.
But, the two of them didn’t wake up either, which made Theodore even more anxious; he was sure they also got the debuff he got. Theodore was unconscious, so it was no wonder Roxanne and Geoffrey couldn’t wake up like this.
Giving up on waking the two, Theodore chose to talk to the system and do something for him.
"System, can you pay attention to them and let me know if anyone attacks the 2nd floor? I’ll go down to the 1st floor," Theodore explained while asking the system for help.
[The host can trust the System that]
After hearing the System’s answer, Theodore immediately rushed downstairs; as much as possible, he did not make a sound because he did not want to make anyone there aware of his existence.
When Theodore set foot on the first floor, he noticed the smell of fresh blood and became alert. He slowly combed the room to look for the presence of the person who had come to infiltrate.
At the front door, Theodore could see that the barrier they had set up had moved. It could be seen that someone had moved the barrier.
While Theodore was looking for the person who came to infiltrate the salon, he felt a strong presence around him. Theodore finally frowned when he felt an attack on him from the side.
Theodore quickly pulled out his sword to deflect a dagger aimed at his heart.
There was the sound of clanking metal in the dark room, but only after that Theodore heard the sound of a woman growling in pain and the smell of fresh blood.
