Chapter 112: Explain This System!
Theodore kept waiting for the system to answer his question, but it never did. He wondered if the system was complex to answer.
"Hey, system? You’re there, right?" Theodore finally spoke up again to ensure the system was listening to him.
[The system was just about to explain to the host what happened earlier. Does the host still want to listen to it?]
"Of course! I’m waiting for you to explain that to me!" Theodore vigorously nodded his head.
[Actually, the poison neutralization feature was already there from the beginning when the host was connected to the system. So it’s not new; the feature has been there from the start. It’s just that the host was never exposed to the poison, so that feature never appeared]
"So you can neutralize all the negative effects inside my body?" Theodore couldn’t believe what the system was telling him. The problem was that this feature was very beneficial to him.
[Yes, the system will perform neutralization when the host’s body comes into direct contact with something that can hurt the host’s body]
Theodore was so astonished that he could only clap his hands in reaction to the system’s explanation. This way, Theodore doesn’t have to worry about something like poison because one of the most annoying attacks is when exposed to poison.
Not only zombies or mutated creatures that can produce poison, but humans whose morals have fallen in this apocalypse world will also not hesitate to poison someone. So Theodore would be safe if he was poisoned by someone later.
"Fortunately, I knew about this feature, even though I learned about it a little late. But, with this, I won’t be afraid of the threat of poison now," Theodore said calmly, leaning back and enjoying his leisure time.
"System, can I ask you for another favor?" Closing his eyes, Theodore hoped that the system would help him again this time.
[What does the host need?]
"Can you observe what’s happening outside the sacred dimension? I don’t know when they finished the attack. Please remind me to leave here before they return to the ground floor," Theodore explained to the system.
[The host can leave the matter to the system]
Theodore calmed down after hearing the system’s reply so he could relax more peacefully here.
. . .
Theodore fell asleep there because he was too relaxed soaking in the river of pure water; he woke up when he heard the system’s voice echoing in his head. Theodore slowly opened his eyes because of the noise the system was making. freewёbnoνel.com
"Why are you making so much noise?" Theodore rubbed his eyes for a few moments. He had just realized he was asleep in a river of pure water.
[Cassian and the others have almost finished finishing off the zombies on the 1st floor. The host better prepare to exit the sacred dimension] freewēbnoveℓ.com
Theodore immediately got up from his position. He even forgot that he still had to get out of the sacred dimension. Fortunately, Theodore had reminded the system before; otherwise, he was sure he would continue to sleep here.
Since there was no one else but him in the sacred dimension, Theodore also left the pure water river without wearing his clothes, considering that his clothes were already dirty because of his battle with the zombies earlier.
Theodore casually walked towards the bamboo forest, intending to look for a change of clothes in his pile of supplies that he had kept in the sacred dimension.
"Luckily, I keep a lot of things in the sacred dimension," said Theodore, wearing new clothes that were in his sacred dimension.
Since he still had to leave, Theodore decided to cook some simple pasta. After finishing, he came out of the sacred dimension while carrying the pasta he had cooked.
When Theodore opened his eyes again, he was already on the ground floor of a tall building in the suburbs of city A. After relaxing in his sacred dimension, Theodore became unaccustomed to finding himself in a damp and dark place like this ground floor.
"At this rate, I’ll have to think of a way to sneak into the sacred dimension," Theodore said with a sigh, already missing his sacred dimension.
Since it was already there, Theodore decided to eat while waiting for Cassian and the others to return to the ground floor. From what the system had said earlier, it seemed like it would be a while before they arrived.
When Theodore had just finished his meal, he heard the sound of people chatting from the elevator. Theodore could deduce that they were Cassian’s group, who had just finished cleaning the first floor.
And sure enough, Chelsea and Geoffrey came down from the elevator. Theodore frowned when he only saw them coming down from the top floor.
Curious about what happened, Theodore approached the two of them and asked what happened.
"Why are only you two coming down?" Theodore asked worriedly. He suddenly wondered whether the zombies with powers would appear again and kill the others.
"We came to pick you up, sis. The others are waiting upstairs; some. Some people have also started collecting things that we can take to the base," Geoffrey explained with a big smile. He didn’t expect that looting would be so much fun.
"Since you’re already here, let’s go upstairs." Chelsea immediately invited Theodore to the first floor.
Since there was nothing else Theodore could do on the ground floor, he immediately followed Geoffrey and Chelsea to the first floor. Theodore listened to Geoffrey throughout the elevator ride, who kept telling stories.
"I had fun fighting those zombies. Although I’m not as good as the others, I feel I’m getting stronger!" Geoffrey bragged to Theodore while smiling widely.
"That’s good then; that way, you can protect your sister," Theodore said while pulling Geoffrey’s hair.
"You’re right!" Geoffrey nodded his head vigorously.
"Then, what about your sister?" Theodore asked Geoffrey about Roxanne’s condition.
Chelsea, who was listening to the conversation, glanced at Theodore but said nothing.
"My sister is fine; she’s helping the injured people," Geoffrey replied, explaining Theodore Roxanne’s condition.
Theodore then just nodded his head without saying anything else. Soon, they arrived at the first floor, which was no longer blocked by Cassian’s barrier wall.
"Cassian told me to tell you to meet him immediately; he is near the elevator on the second floor." After being silent all this time, Chelsea finally spoke up and told Theodore to meet Cassian immediately.
"Why is he waiting for me there anyway? Well, I’ll be right there," Theodore said lazily because it was quite a distance between the first-floor elevator and the elevator leading to the second floor.
Theodore immediately stepped towards the elevator that went to the second floor. He wondered why Cassian was waiting for him there. Did something happen when they cleaned the first floor?
Whatever the reason, Theodore hoped Cassian and his group would not get into trouble with the zombies on the second floor.
