Chapter 11: Saga 11— The Fuck!...... Unexpected Surprises?...

Kael never really had much of a grasp of the power system of this world. Well... in the village he lived in, knowledge of that kind of stuff was quite limited. But here in the Regal Renodin Academy, a hub for all sorts of knowledge, second only to the Skyfay Central Academy in ancient knowledge and precepts.

And Spell Works was just the class to learn about all of that. Kael was a bit disappointed when he figured out that today was just for the introductory aspect.

"Today we will be focusing on introductions. I believe in your previous year you were taught about Casting—"

"As you all should know, spells are the manipulation of mana both internally and externally. Affinity determines the kind of spells that a person would be able to cast, while mana reserve dictates how much mana we can expend."

The professor explained meticulously. Kael was paying unhinged attention to the lecture until Amber tapped him.

"Kael... it seems like the class bully has set his gaze on you," she whispered.

Kael turned his head back in the direction from where he had been receiving dense killing intent all this while.

’Oh... just another insignificant figure.’

Kael had read enough web novels to know that the guy whom the girls flaunted around and who was also extremely rude was nothing but a waste of time. So Kael paid him no mind and refocused on the lecture.

"You! Kael LongHeart, was it?"

The professor seemed to have noticed that he was distracted.

"Yes, Professor." He stood.

"It looks like you are already familiar with what I was saying since you were barely paying any attention—"

"So may I ask you to list the categories of spells?" the professor asked, thinking he might know the answer.

"Normal Spells, Advanced Spells, Ultimate Spells, and Prime Spells. Then there’s also the fifth category, Transcendent Spells."

Kael replied boldly.

’Interesting. He even knows of the fifth class.’

"You may have your seat and do well to focus."

The professor continued the lecture. After she was done, they had Survival Logistics, Magical Research. Then finally the afternoon bell rang and it was time for lectures to end for the day.

The instant the professor stepped out of the class, the students immediately dispersed from their seats. Some went to see their lovers, others to the arena for practice.

Either way, the class became empty.

"See you tomorrow, Kael." Amber waved him goodbye.

For an unknown reason, Sylvia left before the other student council members.

’This is my chance.’

Kael decided to use the opportunity to tail her. He left the classroom unnoticed.

Sylvia stopped by a tap on the way out of the hallway. She washed her face and then made use of a mirror to rearrange her hair.

After which she headed to the mini garden to pick some blue lilies. As expected, she was greeted by a lot of students along the way.

Then she stepped out of the academy gate and entered a carriage that took her to the commercial district. After ravaging through numerous shops, she carried a lot of bags out with her.

She sat on a bench for a while, then a male in a black suit came down from a fancy carriage. He collected the bags and the basket of lilies and took them away.

Sylvia herself entered another carriage that took her to an abandoned colosseum at the edge of the capital city in a desolate and noise-free area.

’What the hell is she looking for in such a place!’

Kael continued to tail her even as she entered the colosseum. The inside was very dark, but light rays penetrated through the cracks in the wall.

All of a sudden, Kael lost Sylvia.

’Where did she disappear to?’

He was sure that he had kept a close eye on her all this while from a safe distance.

"Kael LongHeart—"

Sylvia’s voice echoed from above. Kael’s gaze quickly shifted upwards; she stood on the upper level of the colosseum where dignitaries usually watched the matches from.

"Ahhh... Sylvia, would you believe me if I said I got lost?" Kael chuckled awkwardly.

"No!" Sylvia answered him with a profound tone.

"Why the hell have you been following me?" she asked.

’Should I tell her the truth—’

’Tsk! Fuck it all.’

"I believe that you are the Sword Princess—"

"And that you are also in possession of my Sword System—"

"How did it feel all these years making use of someone else’s overpowered system?"

Kael spoke with a bitter and unhinged tone.

’I saw him in the guild that day... when did he—’

"Wait! Did you just say the Sword System belonged to you?"

Sylvia could barely believe her ears.

"Yes, and also I said you are the Sword Princess," Kael replied.

"You have some nerve coming into my life when you barely know me and start bossing me around—"

"Yes, I am the Sword Princess—"

"So what of it?—"

"I just got this chance to finally leave my life and make my own choices. I won’t allow some eastern pumpkin to take that away from me."

For the first time since Kael met Sylvia, this was the only time she had spoken to him with such emotion in her words.

Kael didn’t know what to say. He just stared incredulously.

"I don’t quite underst—"

"For what I would call an eternity, I drifted in a dark space. Devoid of any thought, reason, or purpose, nothing but a drifting light." Sylvia clutched a hand against her chest.

"But one day I heard a voice that pulled me out of that hell. When I opened my eyes, I was inside the Weisston household. They told me that I was found by the head of the household outside their front door, lying down naked—"

"They didn’t know what exactly to do with me at that moment, but they took me in, provided me with food, clothes, and shelter. They asked me questions like my name and where I was from, but I couldn’t answer. Hell! I could barely speak. The duke of the house was kind enough to adopt me even though he would be insulted and mocked."

Sylvia climbed to the edge of the stand.

"Wait, don’t—"

For a second Kael thought that she would fall, but she didn’t. She stepped on a translucent foothold.

"I’m not going to surrender to being your weapon."

She took another step.

"I refuse to be your tool of destruction and glory."

She continued walking downwards as if it were a staircase.

"If you want me—"

She flicked her raven-colored hair backward. Each strand of hair slowly became white.

"You would have to take me—"

Sylvia’s crimson pupils both turned crystal blue, and her hair became fully silver-white.

"By force!"

She vanished and reappeared in front of Kael with a blade directly at his throat.
