Chapter 10: Saga 10— Even Loud Mouths ...Can be Used...
Staying in the dorms was optional, so Kael decided to lounge at an inn instead. He had enough coins on him, so he opted for the most expensive suite.
Unlike his rundown barn where he slept on hay, the suite he was in now had a large bouncy bed. The attendants brought different types of cuisines, all lined up on a long wooden table.
Usually, one was not supposed to eat the lineup of meals alone, but Kael devoured everything and still had space for dessert.
He freshened up and went to bed immediately. The next morning, the rays from the rising sun hit his sleepy eyes, causing him to wake.
Kael opened his eyes slowly as they swept across the room and then fell on the wall clock.
"Holy shit, it’s almost 8:00 a.m.!" He sprang out of bed in complete panic.
From his course outline and timetable, the third years were supposed to have Spell Work class by 8:00 a.m., and he didn’t want to be late on his first day.
’Tsk...I’m not even a fan of school, but here I am...’
Kael looked at how ironic his current situation was. For someone who barely managed to get through college without dropping out, being a punctual student was something he never thought about.
He hurried in and out of the bathroom, wiped his body, and shaved his dick hair.
"Gotta keep it clean for the ladies," he sneered.
Kael’s head was always full of all sorts of perverted thoughts. Then again, he was a master gooner and masturbator in his previous life.
He then put on his academy uniform.
"Hmmm.... looking sharp, man."
He was amused by how well the academy uniform looked on him. For something that was created at the get-go (literally).
[I don’t think so...Host.]
Now, his system had started to mock him out of the blue.
"Good morning, shit head system." Kael rolled his eyes.
[Oh sorry, Host. I am incapable of registering such vulgar words.]
"Hahahaha...Funny." Kael cooed mockingly.
[So what’s the agenda for today?]
"Depends—"
"But I plan on tailing Sylvia to get more info."
He sat to wear his shoes.
[Update!]
[Prompted task: Tail Sylvia and find out the relationship between her and the Sword Princess.]
[Reward: +5,000 EXP and a Disguise Mask.]
[Time limit: 24 hours.]
[Penalty for failure: Dysfunctional erection for life.]
"Really? Did you just use my own plans to give me a quest?" Kael rubbed his temples.
"But don’t you think the penalty is too harsh?"
Kael got no reply from his system. He didn’t have any time to waste, so he left the inn quickly and entered a horse carriage that took him straight to the Renodin Academy gate.
He brought out his student ID and tapped it against the small gate, and it opened almost immediately.
’Cool.’
Only a student or staff member of the academy could open the gate. He walked through the gate and made his way to the third year lecture hall.
It was quite large, with a wooden desk and chair at the centre of the class. A few meters from the desk, rows of chairs were stationed in ascending order from bottom up.
Kael didn’t want to sit in the front; that would just attract attention, or at the very last row, which was where the highest seats stood. So he chose the middle row, which was a bit hidden compared to the rest.
A few minutes after he sat down, students started to pour into the class. Immediately the hand of the clock hit eight and the morning bell rang.
A pink-haired girl that seemed overly lively sat in the seat right next to Kael.
"Hello—"
"I’m Amber Stenger, daughter of Duke Stenger."
She gave Kael an unnecessarily long introduction that he didn’t care to listen to.
"Morning. Ka—"
"I know who you are, Kael LongHeart—"
"I mean, who wouldn’t know the name of the top scorer in the transfer test? Plus, I am also the eyes and ears of this academy, so there’s no news that passes me by. Boring and interesting alike."
Kael already deduced the kind of person she was.
’So basically she is a glorified gossip—’
’But I can put her to good use.’
"That’s great and all—"
"Could you put me up to speed on the current happenings and necessary details I need to know since I’m new and all?"
Kael asked.
"It would be my pleasure." She didn’t waste a single second replying.
"Okay, so let me start with the student council—"
"You must have had one in your former school. Right?" Amber pointed a finger at Kael.
"Yes, for sure," Kael replied.
"So the Renodin Student Council is made up of four renowned third-year students since the fourth and fifth years were mainly stuck hunting. They might not be the strongest or smartest in our class, but they are very capable individuals—"
"You see the guy over there?" She pointed a finger at Harriden, who was fully immersed in the material he was reading.
"Yes." Kael had to reply even though he’d rather not.
"That’s Harriden Fluckwish. He is a dark elf from Strotan Theocracy—no less the son of a high-ranking noble."
"He is also known as the brains of the student council, and he’s really handsome."
Amber lost herself in her lustful desires for a minute.
"Ahem! Next is the girl next to him that’s currently dozing off—"
"Don’t be fooled by those pigtails—She’s the Elf Queen’s third daughter."
"Claire Nova Bonflare. A petite beauty and a promising mage."
Amber’s finger shifted to the male student standing in front of Claire and Harriden.
"That overly and surreally handsome guy over there is the firstborn child of the captain of the Reinburg First Brigade, a high-ranking noble figure and military power. Yuki Hazegawa Albert—"
"The man that makes every girl go crazy and vice president of the student council."
Finally, Amber’s finger drifted towards the girl who was currently staring at them with a death stare.
"That stuck-up bitch that’s currently thinking of decapitating me—"
"Is Sylvia Tiliton Weisston, daughter—or more accurately, adopted daughter—of the king’s supreme advisor and right hand."
"She earned herself the title of Student Council President through hard work and diligence."
Before Amber could add anything else to what she was saying, the professor walked into the class.
"Hello students, and welcome to Spell Works."
