Chapter 386: Chapter 386: Claire, Lower Your Head
It was just after three in the afternoon.
Claire Sinclair returned to Quincy Manor, this time going straight to Adrian Quincy and placing all the evidence she had on his desk.
Adrian Quincy set aside his work and looked quizzically at the diary and USB drive on his desk. "What’s this?"
"Take a look at this diary first, and then the files on the USB drive."
"Alright." Adrian Quincy nodded and opened the diary.
He skimmed the first page, then went back and read it again more carefully.
After he finished, his expression instantly darkened. In a grave voice, he asked, "Where did you get this?"
"Someone came to me with a tip. They want me to get justice for this girl. She already committed suicide. The story is blowing up online, with a new version every day, but they’re all fake. The real evidence is on the USB drive."
Adrian Quincy gave a slight nod, plugged the USB drive into his computer, and opened the videos and screenshots.
The video was a full two hours long, which Adrian Quincy watched on fast-forward. The entire recording depicted only one thing: a girl being subjected to inhuman sexual abuse.
The remaining screenshots were ones Claire Sinclair had obtained through hacking. They showed chat logs from a group containing the perpetrators from the video, along with all their personal information and private conversations related to the incident.
Claire Sinclair’s heart was heavy, and her voice was a little hoarse. "I’m not powerful enough on my own. I want to ask for your help, Mr. Quincy, to bring these criminals to justice as quickly as possible. When the time is right, I want to do a special feature, a joint report with Astoria Television, to get justice for the victim."
"Quincy Manor has no jurisdiction to intervene in a case like this, so I can only assist you covertly. However, I can recommend someone to you. Go see him, and you’ll get results quickly."
"Who?" Claire Sinclair didn’t know anyone in that field.
Adrian Quincy took an ID card from his drawer, then handed it back to her along with the diary and USB drive. "His last name is Tan. Go find him at the Police Headquarters. Take my ID card with you. You can swipe it to get into certain departments directly, without needing anyone’s permission. I’ll also assign a few people to protect you covertly. Do what you need to do without hesitation."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Quincy!" Claire Sinclair carefully took the items back, her gaze finally landing on his ID card.
It was called an ID card, but it was actually an identification badge made of a special material, with complex and hidden anti-counterfeiting marks.
His ID photo was printed directly on the card. He looked just as upright and handsome as he did in person—so handsome it was a pleasure to look at. Even through the card, she could feel his sharp gaze.
Claire Sinclair looked at his photo, then back at the real man. An idea popped into her head. She walked up to him, leaned in, and quickly kissed his cheek.
She tried to run off right after, but the man caught her just in time.
Blushing, Claire Sinclair mumbled, "I just... wanted to give you a kiss... That’s all."
Adrian Quincy’s mood instantly lifted. He said softly, "Claire, lower your head."
"No, I’m in a hurry."
"It won’t take long. Be good."
"..." Claire Sinclair hesitated for a moment, then closed her eyes and lowered her head.
The man accurately captured her lips with his, savoring her sweet taste, the kiss growing more and more passionate.
After what felt like an eternity, Claire Sinclair’s dazed mind gradually returned to its senses. She suddenly pushed him away and said irritably, "And you said it wouldn’t take long! I’m leaving!"
"Claire..." Adrian Quincy called after her.
