Chapter 387: Chapter 387: Reporting a Case
Claire Sinclair’s body felt as if it had been hit with a paralyzing spell; she couldn’t move a muscle.
Adrian Quincy let out a soft sigh and said in a low voice, "Wipe your drool."
"!!!"
Claire Sinclair quickly wiped the corner of her mouth, her face growing hotter and hotter.
Adrian Quincy’s lips curved into a slight smile. "Straighten out your clothes, too."
At his words, Claire Sinclair snapped her head down. Seeing her disheveled clothes, she realized that a certain someone’s kiss had gone a little too far, and she glared at him with wide eyes.
"I’m not talking to you anymore!" Claire Sinclair muttered under her breath. She frantically straightened her clothes and then left.
Adrian Quincy nonchalantly adjusted his own clothes before returning to his documents.
-
It wasn’t until she had left Quincy Manor that Claire Sinclair realized that guy had given her very little information—only "Police Headquarters, surname Tanner."
’What if there are a lot of people named Tanner at Police Headquarters?’
Claire Sinclair took a car to the entrance of Police Headquarters and first went to the guard post. "Hello, I’m looking for Officer Tanner."
The guard asked back, "What do you want with Officer Tanner?"
Claire Sinclair silently took out Adrian Quincy’s identity card and showed it to the guard.
The guard froze for a moment, then immediately spoke into his walkie-talkie, "Officer Tanner, you have a VIP visitor."
Claire Sinclair: "..."
A few minutes later, Claire Sinclair was shown into an office, and someone even brought her a cup of tea.
Claire Sinclair took a sip of the plain water and waited a few more minutes before someone finally walked into the office.
The moment the man saw Claire Sinclair, a flicker of astonishment crossed his eyes. He almost blurted out the name "Quinn Sinclair," but fortunately, he caught himself in time.
This wasn’t some Quinn Sinclair; this was the super-reporter famous all across the country, Claire Sinclair.
Tristan Tanner walked over to Claire Sinclair, pulled up a chair, and got straight to the point. "Reporter Sinclair, what can I do for you?"
Claire Sinclair handed him the diary and the USB drive. "Officer Tanner, I’d like to file a report."
"You can file a report at the front desk." He then inadvertently caught sight of the identity card she was clutching, and his brow furrowed sharply. "What’s your relationship with Young Master Quincy?"
’She actually got her hands on Young Master Quincy’s identity card. One can only imagine what that means...’
Claire Sinclair shook her head. "We don’t have a relationship. It’s just that this case has such severe implications that Mr. Quincy gave me this and told me to investigate without restraint."
’For Young Master Quincy to get involved personally, this must be a major case.’
"Alright, I’ll take a look at the case first." With that, Tristan Tanner picked up the USB drive and plugged it into his computer.
By the time he finished watching the video on the USB drive, his face had completely darkened. After looking through the subsequent chat screenshots, a palpable anger radiated from him. Finally, he began to flip through the diary...
Seeing that he had gotten the gist of it, Claire Sinclair finally spoke up. "I’m not sure if you’ve been following this online, Officer Tanner, but the victim in the video is Yvonne Judd."
Tristan Tanner suppressed his inner fury and asked in a low voice, "Did you come to me just to file a report?"
Claire Sinclair said in all seriousness, "I just want to clear Yvonne Judd’s name and spare her from the public’s condemnation. Her death was a terrible injustice; she shouldn’t have to bear these accusations anymore."
Tristan Tanner said, "You can write your articles, but I’m warning you: do not leak any details of the case while the police investigation is ongoing. Otherwise, even with Young Master Quincy backing you, I’ll still charge you with leaking confidential information and obstructing justice."
Claire Sinclair gave a slight smile. "Don’t worry. I’m just waiting for you all to catch the culprit. Once you’ve issued a public notice, I’ll publish my article. I might even need to interview you then."
