Chapter 37: Let’s Go Shopping.

Kael didn’t rush at all. He calmly sat down on the chair next to Sylas and started eating like nothing important was going on.

While he was eating, Leon couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked.

"Mansion Lord... are we going to the Count’s place for dinner and accepting his invitation?"

One of Sylvia’s eyebrows raised as a thought appeared in her mind. ’Count invited these people over for dinner? As per my knowledge, no noble of such a title invited randoms over to his mansion.’

Kael didn’t reply to him for a while and continued eating his food. But then, finally, he decided to break the silence. "We will go."

A gentle yet excited smile appeared on Leon’s face as he turned towards the door which led to the room filled with their wardrobe. "I’ll go and prepare for it then,"

He took a small pause as his gaze fell on Kael once again. "What will you wear, Mansion Lord?"

"The usual—"

But before he could finish his sentence, Leon interrupted him. "We are going over to Count’s mansion, let’s wear something good."

"Let’s go and buy some good clothes from the market," Leon said as his eyes started to glitter with the hope of new clothes.

A small sigh escaped through his mouth as he looked towards Sylas, who was already looking at him.

"Where are we going, Dad?"

"To purchase new clothes for you."

Suddenly, a bright smile appeared on Sylas’s lips. "New clothes?"

"Yes, Sylas." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"Yayyy!!! Heheheh," the kid laughed, unable to hide his excitement.

The time passed as they all finally finished their meals. Sylvia and Leon were still sitting at the dining table.

She stretched her arms up in the air as a small yawn escaped through her mouth. "That food was something else, Leon."

"You actually made it good... I can’t even argue with you about it anymore."

A faint smirk tugged at Leon’s lips as he muttered as he pointed his thumb next to his chest. "Now get on your knees, and praise the holy me."

A vein popped through Sylvia’s forehead as she instantly got up from her chair and lunged at Leon, but before she could catch him.

He started running towards the garden where Kael was sitting under the tree. "Mansion Lord~." His loud voice echoed through the surroundings.

The sun’s rays had almost vanished, chilled breeze was flowing through the air. Light shadows of the trees were engulfing the garden.

Leon stopped next to the bench, and he leaned down to his knees. Pants started to flow through his mouth rapidly.

Without looking at him, Kael’s voice fell inside his ears. "We’ll be leaving to purchase new clothes in a while and get a few coins from the pouch."

Leon instantly looked up in the sky, then around his surroundings as he started behaving strangely.

Sylvia, who was standing near the hall door, muttered under her breath, "Did you finally go crazy?"

"No, it’s not that," Leon replied right away, taking a few steps back as if to explain himself better. "I just don’t get it... How is the Mansion Lord telling someone else to bring money that already belongs to him?"

A vein throbbed on Kael’s temple, but he didn’t even need to look at Leon to know he was jumping ahead of himself.

Leon noticed it too. The moment he felt Kael’s mood shift, he panicked and quickly backed off.

"I—I’ll go get it!" he scoffed, then rushed straight toward Kael’s room, where the pouch of gold coins was kept.

When he reached there, he noticed that everything was kept in systematic order. The curiosity was lingering inside of him to go through Kael’s stuff.

"If I touch even a single thing in here, my head will go flying," he muttered under his breath.

Without wasting another second, he grabbed the pouch and instantly untied the yellow band. There were tons of golden coins inside it, which were shining continuously.

A small trail of drool left through Leon’s mouth as a thought appeared inside his mind. ’Should I take some of them?!’

He shook his head violently and wiped the drool off his mouth. "He probably already counted the coins in there," he muttered under his breath, glancing toward the pouch.

His hand travelled through the mouth and grabbed a couple of coins out of it. He opened his palm as he started counting them.

"One. Two. Three. Four. And five."

"I think this amount would suffice for the shopping which we have to do today."

He turned towards the door and walked through it, making his way towards the garden as he entered it.

"Mansion Lord, I’m back with the coins."

"I promise that I didn’t try to steal anything through them, nor did I touch anything inside your room."

Without saying anything, Kael directed his palm towards Leon.

He picked the gesture of Kael instantly as he kept the coins inside his palm.

"You brought five coins?"

"Yes, this much would suffice the need for today."

’Back in my days, we used to get everything in a couple of copper coins.’

Kael leaned down and picked Sylas up in his arms as he muttered. "You’re covered in dirt, such a mess you created."

"Hehehehe!!"

A small sigh escaped through his mouth as he walked toward the main gate and passed through.

Leon didn’t waste any time and followed his trail. Sylvia, who was standing there, looked at them leave the place one by one.

"Wait, I’ll help you purchase good clothes for Sylas," she muttered as she also followed behind them.

They all made their way into the city. By the time they stepped inside, the sun had fully set. Moonlight now covered the streets, bright and calm, while a few fading traces of sunlight still lingered on the ground.

A soft breeze moved through the area, brushing past them as the city slowly settled into the night.
