Chapter 36: Chapter 31: Sea-Going Woman

Isabel was silent.

Yuyao said cautiously, "I know you’re an Apostle... I can feel the oppressive Power of Faith from you. It’s different from the flame we carry."

She wrung her hands. "I mean no harm, and I haven’t hurt anyone."

Isabel said coolly, "Answer my questions. Then I’ll consider your proposal."

"Whose believer are you? What are you doing here?"

"..."

Yuyao hesitated for a moment. "I am a believer of Prayer God, from the East Sea Clan of a Low Realm Dimension. My true name is Hai Chengyao, and I am the Prophet of the East Sea Clan."

"The reason I’m in this High Realm Dimension is also because of my God’s will."

"My clan can give birth to Sea Monsters through mating. The purer the bloodline, the more powerful the Sea Monster we can conceive. But those from branch bloodlines have to rely on the power of a Divine Totem for assistance."

"Here in the Divine Realm of the High Realm Dimension, the East Sea Clan can mate with potential Gods to conceive even more powerful Sea Monsters. This is the mission for those of us chosen as a ’Sea-Going Woman.’"

"We give birth to powerful Sea Monsters for our clan and offer our strength to our God’s Fire of Faith."

"But... I defied my God’s command and escaped."

She lowered her head, a look of shame on her face.

Isabel was unmoved. "So, you’re saying Prayer God summoned you to this High Realm Dimension to have you birth Sea Monsters with other men?"

Yuyao nodded. "Our clan’s bloodline is special. It only takes a single day to conceive and give birth to a child."

"Why did you run?"

"...I don’t know."

A confused look appeared on the woman’s face.

"When I first arrived, I was my usual self. I gave birth to a Sea Monster infant with a man from the Divine Realm. At the time, I felt very proud because I was contributing my strength to my great God and my entire clan."

"But on the second day, the man my God found for me gave me money after we mated. I suddenly felt a bit... upset."

"On the third day, I felt very scared... By the fourth day, I felt like I had become a different person. I began to question whether what I was doing was right."

Yuyao’s voice trembled slightly, and her body seemed to tense up with fear.

"I think I’m turning into a monster... When an individual from a Low Realm Dimension enters a High Realm Dimension, they are twisted by Rule Power and gradually become a monster. This is something all ’Sea-Going Women’ know."

She said in a low voice, "I know I’ll be caught. It’s only a matter of time."

"In this world where only Gods are fit to survive, I only have a lifespan of fifteen days."

"Twelve days have already passed. I only have three days left to live. After three days, I’ll end my own life before I completely turn into a monster."

"Actually, I can already feel it. I have a strong craving for raw meat and fresh blood... That’s why I can only secretly buy live fish and eat them in hiding."

Through Isabel’s eyes, Luh Yao observed Yuyao coldly.

There was one question she had been avoiding.

Isabel brought it up.

"Prayer God just let you escape like that?"

"...I don’t know why, either. He’s probably busy with more important things. A minor character like me is insignificant to Prayer God."

"Prophets like me, who have been converted by a God, are just like Heroes and you Apostles. We have a Faith Flame kindled inside us by Prayer God. I cannot defy or disrespect Him in any way. Doing so would cause the Fire of Faith to instantly devour me."

Through her eyes, Luh Yao instructed Isabel, ’Ask her why she chose that man from before.’

Yuyao’s explanation was, "I suspected he was also a God."

"When I met him, he was very cautious and struck up a conversation with me. I thought he might have discovered my identity, so I went along with him."

"Only a God can stand against a God. If he really was one, then perhaps he could have granted me a Blessing, allowing me to escape Prayer God’s punishment and continue to live."

"Unfortunately, he was just an ordinary person from the High Realm Dimension."

Yuyao didn’t hide her disappointment. "The reason I stayed with him was that it made it harder for me to be discovered, and it was convenient for me to continue my search for a real God."

"So you two pretended to be lovers?"

"Yes."

Yuyao let out a laugh. "I have no feelings for him, nor will I harm him. To me, he’s just a piece of clothing to hide myself with."

Luh Yao sighed at what he heard.

Old Zhou had fallen at the hands of his girlfriend yet again.

"I understand."

Isabel nodded. "Do you have anything else to say?"

As if realizing something, Yuyao said nervously, "Don’t kill me! I just want to live... I’ve never hurt anyone."

Suddenly, a yellow, viscous liquid began to seep out from the car’s seats, cushions, and door seams.

The sticky liquid silently enveloped Isabel, holding her fast. Like soft candy, it quickly encased her in a solid, gelatinous block.

Yuyao sat in her seat, a strange smile on her face.

"It actually worked," she said, licking her lips.

But her triumph was short-lived. A look of confusion suddenly clouded Yuyao’s eyes.

"What... What am I doing here?"

"What’s wrong with me?"

"Who am I?"

"Where am I?"

"What’s this?"

Confusion filled Yuyao’s eyes. She looked at her own hands, then at Isabel, who was encased in the yellow gel. The sight startled her.

"What is that thing?"

Her eyes widened. It was plain to see that she had lost her earlier composure and reason. She began to ramble, and her gaze grew unfocused.

The gel then began to melt, receding from Isabel’s body like a tide. Everything happened as if in reverse, and soon, no trace of the yellow liquid remained in the car.

Isabel continued to stare at Yuyao, as if nothing had happened.

"My Lord, the Beastification Ceremony has robbed her of her sanity and awareness. She could completely degenerate into a beast at any moment."

Isabel looked down at her chest.

Only then did Luh Yao notice the small, black sculpture hanging around her neck: the Skinner’s Statue. Once the Beastification Ceremony was activated, whoever was being stared at by the statue’s many eyes would become a Sacrificial Offering.

In its place, a small, pale flame floated above Yuyao’s head.

"This is the Power of Faith gained from the ceremony."

Isabel raised her hand, and the flame burrowed into it.

Luh Yao immediately saw a "+10" symbol appear.

This Beastification Ceremony had yielded 10 points of Faith.

Isabel requested, "My Lord, please permit me to execute her. If she fully bestializes or mutates, there will be certain unknown risks."

"Make it quick," Luh Yao said.

He could tell that Isabel had been extremely restrained, deliberately baiting Yuyao into making a move.

The reason was easy to understand. Isabel was using this practical example to demonstrate to Luh Yao the dangers of an individual from a Low Realm Dimension losing control after entering a High Realm Dimension.

Isabel punched clean through Yuyao’s chest.

The light slowly faded from the eyes of the female Prophet from the East Sea Clan.

Soon, only a black silhouette remained in the seat next to her, shaped like ash after a fire.

The ash covered a yellow stone.

Isabel took the stone, got out of the car, and closed the door.
