Chapter 133: Fusion
Cecilia left with a dark expression after standing there for a while.
The scar-faced leader was still thinking about asking for more money and was about to call her from behind when the bulky man suddenly stopped him.
"Boss... look at them." He pointed toward the other two men still lying on the ground.
The leader looked at them and frowned. "The drama’s over, you punks. What are you still acting for? Get up already." The leader snapped. But...
Neither of them moved.
The leader stepped forward and nudged one of them with his foot. "Hey! Get up."
Still nothing.
With an impatient look, he turned toward the bulky man. "Check them."
The bulky man crouched down and placed two fingers on each man’s neck. His expression immediately darkened. He slowly looked up at the scar-faced leader.
"It’s bad, Boss... They’re both dead."
"What?" The leader’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What the fuck are you talking about? They’re both peak B-Class Knights! How could they die from a single punch?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Suddenly, he remembered something. His face changed. Without hesitation, he unbuttoned his own shirt and revealed an armor-like artifact hidden beneath his clothes. His expression turned deathly pale. A deep crack had formed at the center of the artifact, with countless smaller cracks spreading outward like a spider’s web.
’If not for this defensive artifact... I’d be dead too.’ Cold sweat mixed with the rain as it trickled down his forehead. ’He’s... He’s an A-Class knight.’
The bulky man looked equally shaken. He had only been hit by an Ice Ball. The most basic spell in ice magic. Yet he could already feel that several bones in his jaw had been broken.
...
Meanwhile, Leon soon arrived at the college gate.
"Ugh... I made it on time even after that fight. But what am I supposed to do about this?" He looked down at his clothes, completely soaked.
"I got carried away and threw away my umbrella while delivering those last two punches."
"I can help, Master," Noira’s voice sounded in his mind.
"You can?" Leon asked. "How?"
"You didn’t forget my special ability, did you, Master? Fenrir already explained it to you."
Leon blinked. "Ugh... now I remember. Void manipulation, right?"
"Yes, Master. I can open a void rift for you. You can return to your room, change your clothes, and come back here."
"Then please do it."
The next moment, the space before Leon distorted. Ripples spread through the air like waves across water.
Then...
A spatial rift silently opened before him. Without any hesitation, Leon stepped inside.
When he emerged from the other side, he found himself standing inside his room. ’Damn! It’s genuinely awesome.’ He mused.
He immediately began changing into dry clothes. "By the way," Leon asked while changing, "what’s the difference between void manipulation and spatial magic?"
"Master, spatial magic is limited by distance," Noira started explaining. "At most, it can cover anywhere from five hundred meters to one kilometer. That’s why it’s mainly used for redirecting attacks or making short-distance movement. Because, at higher cultivation realms, crossing five metres or one kilometer is nothing for a person. So spatial magic isn’t very useful for escaping. But void manipulation is different. It has virtually no distance limit. As long as two locations aren’t separated by an extremely powerful force or sealed by special restrictions, you can travel freely between them."
Leon nodded. "That’s incredible." He suddenly remembered something.
"What about you, Fenrir? What’s your special ability?"
Fenrir started this time. "My ability is a bit tricky, master. To use my ability, I need someone else’s help. Or you can say, my ability is useless without someone else. It isn’t as flashy as Noira’s ability, but it’s unique in its own way.
It’s called Fusion."
"Fusion?"
"Yes, Master. I can merge with another person to combine our strengths. And our strength won’t just combine. It will be multiplied. The stronger the connection between me and the other person, the greater the multiplier. Since in a bond, the connection between a beast master and their contracted beast is exceptionally strong... If you and I fuse, our combined strength will increase twofold."
Leon stopped what he was doing. ’Two times our combined strength?’ His heart skipped a beat. ’I’m already at A-Class level. Fenrir is definitely an S-Class. And a peak one at that. Just combining our strength would already place us in the Disaster class... No... Beyond that. And then multiplying that by two...’
Leon couldn’t even imagine what kind of terrifying power that would create.
"Is... Is there any limitation?" Leon asked cautiously. ’Please don’t be like Berserk Mode. Sixty seconds of power followed by hours of paralysis.’
"Ah... there is, Master," Fenrir replied awkwardly.
Leon immediately sighed. His excitement deflated slightly. "What is it?"
"The fusion can only last for thirty minutes. And it can only be used once per day."
Leon blinked. ’Thirty minutes of that kind of power... and that’s supposed to be a limitation? Damn... I want to try it.
Right now.’
"Are you sure, Master?" Fenrir asked. "This heaven... I mean, this world... may not be able to withstand that much power. Even a casual swing from us could split a huge city apart." freewebnøvel.coɱ
Leon froze. He totally missed the part where Frenrir called this world a heaven. His mind was too busy focusing on the fusion. The power it could provide.
"A casual swing could split a whole city?" he muttered. "It’s hard to even imagine."
His eyes gleamed with excitement. "I really want to give it a try... but I don’t want to end up destroying the world while doing it. What should I do?"
Just imagining that kind of power made Leon’s heart pound wildly. A chill ran down his spine. But knowing he couldn’t use it was like a thorn lodged in his throat.
Just then, Noira spoke. "I can take you somewhere else, Master. You won’t have to hold back there. You won’t just be able to use your power. You can unleash everything. Fight to your heart’s content using your full strength."
