Chapter 130: Staying Within Limits

Leon stood there with a calm expression. The presence of the five students before him didn’t bother him in the slightest.

More students were about to enter classrooms, but the moment they saw the confrontation, they stopped in their tracks.

"What’s going on? Isn’t that Nick Anderson? What’s he doing here? Isn’t his section in the other block?" one girl whispered to the friend walking beside her.

"You seriously don’t know? Have you been living under a rock?" her friend replied. "His girlfriend, Cecilia, broke up with him yesterday. And from what I heard, it’s all because of that guy standing in front of him. Talk about having guts. He’s in serious trouble now."

"Serious trouble?" The first girl giggled. "You’re the one who’s been living under a rock, dummy. You have no idea who he is."

"What do you mean?"

"That’s Leon Bale. The same Leon Bale who soloed a dungeon just a few days ago. A dungeon gate had suddenly appeared outside a restaurant, and D-Class monsters were roaming around like they owned the place. He killed every single one of them. And you think those five small fries can even touch a hair on his head? Keep dreaming."

The second girl swallowed hard. ’A dungeon filled with D-Class monsters... and he cleared it all by himself? Since when did our college have someone this terrifying?’

Killing D-Class monsters wasn’t considered a great achievement. At least, not for experienced hunters of higher ranks.

But for an ordinary college student? It was nothing short of unbelievable.

Meanwhile, Nick glared at Leon as if he wanted to tear him apart. "How dare you hit on my girlfriend?" he growled. "Do you think I’m some nobody you can walk all over?"

"I didn’t." Leon’s voice remained calm. "If you have a problem, go sort it out with your girlfriend. Don’t drag me into it."

Those words only made the veins on Nick’s forehead bulge further.

Just as he was about to throw a punch, one of the lackeys beside him placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Wait." He smirked. "This one’s interesting. Let me handle him."

The young man, who was a D-Class hunter, stepped forward. Nick didn’t object. Instead, he took a step back and let his companion take the lead.

The D-Class hunter stopped in front of Leon. His neatly combed black hair gave him a polished appearance. He wore a green high-neck shirt beneath a black gabardine jacket, and a thick gold chain rested around his neck.

A smug smile spread across his face as he placed a hand on Leon’s shoulder.

"You’ve got some pretty big ambitions, bro." His fingers tightened around Leon’s shoulder, trying to intimidate him. "Didn’t anyone ever teach you to stay within your limits?"

Leon slowly raised his left hand and grabbed the man’s wrist. His grip gradually tightened.

The D-Class hunter’s expression darkened. He tried to endure it at first, but the crushing force only grew stronger. Finally...

"Arghhhh!" A shrill scream echoed through the corridor.

Leon looked at him indifferently. "The one who needs to learn about staying within his limits..." he said calmly, tightening his grip even further, "...is you."

Crack!

A sickening snap rang out as the hunter’s wrist twisted unnaturally. At the same time, Leon drew back his right fist. It wasn’t a large movement. Just enough for everyone to imagine what was coming next.

Then...

His fist shot forward like lightning.

Thud!

The punch slammed into the hunter’s chest with a dull, heavy impact. The hunter’s feet left the ground as he was blasted backward.

Baaam!

His body crashed into the corridor wall before slowly sliding down like a wet rag.

Silence.

Not a single sound could be heard. Everything had happened so fast that no one had been able to process it.

Then...

Gasps erupted throughout the classroom.

"Fuck..." one of the students muttered in disbelief. "Did anyone even see him move? I only saw his right hand blur for a split second... and then that guy was already flying."

Nick stood frozen for a moment before gritting his teeth in frustration. With a sharp wave of his hand, he signaled the remaining three to attack.

The three men standing behind him hesitated for only a second before charging at Leon.

"That was just a fluke," the C-Class hunter muttered as he rushed forward. "I already checked. He’s definitely not an awakened."

Unfortunately for Nick and the people he had brought with him, none of them truly knew who Leon was. Some had heard about the dungeon break outside the restaurant, but they only knew that a young man had single-handedly cleared it. None of them realized that the person standing before them...

Was that very same man.

Among the many students watching the commotion, one person hid at the corner of the corridor.

It was none other than Cecilia.

’Go on...’ she thought, her eyes fixed on Leon. ’Show me what you’re really capable of.’

The C-Class hunter was the first to reach him.

Earth-element mana gathered around his right arm, hardening into a gauntlet. With a sharp whistle, his fist shot straight toward Leon’s face.

Leon, however, remained calm. He simply raised his left hand, his open palm facing the incoming punch. The movement was casual.

Yet to everyone watching, it was so fast that it resembled a flash of lightning. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

Thud!

The stone-covered fist stopped dead in midair. The C-Class hunter’s eyes widened in disbelief. Before he could recover and pull his arm back, Leon’s leg shot out.

The kick wasn’t aimed at him though.

Instead, it slammed into one of the two hunters charging from behind.

Bang!

The man’s body flew backward like a cannonball, crashing into his companion. Both of them were sent tumbling across the corridor together.

Leon calmly lowered his leg, then drove his knee upward.

Thud!

His knee slammed into the C-Class hunter’s stomach.

The young man doubled over instantly, his face turning bright red as all the air was forced out of his lungs.

A second later, he collapsed onto his knees, clutching his stomach in agony.

Five seconds.

From beginning to end, the entire fight had lasted no more than five seconds.

The area fell deathly silent.

Every student’s mouth hung open in shock.

Even Cecilia’s eyes had widened in disbelief.
