"Technique? What kind of technique is that?" Grace asked.
"But before that, it seems we are in trouble," Ryutaro said.
Before he could tell them about the technique, they were suddenly surrounded by the Royal Army of Rossete.
Alice, the princess of the Rossete Kingdom, stepped forward and asked them what they meant by surrounding her.
"What is the meaning of this?" Alice said.
One of the soldiers stepped forward and explained why they were surrounding Alice and the others.
"Princess Alice, we have come because you are accused of murdering His Majesty, King Gilbert."
"Don’t joke with me! What kind of accusation is that? How could I kill my own father?" Alice said.
"You have no right to speak. This is the order of Her Majesty, Queen Elisabeth," the soldier replied.
Hearing this, Alice couldn’t believe that her own mother had ordered their arrest.
"Don’t lie. There’s no way my mother would order something like this!" Alice said.
"Whether you believe it or not, this order has been given by Her Majesty, the Queen. Capture these traitors!" the soldier commanded.
The soldiers approached, but Ryutaro stood in their way.
"Looks like there’s no room for negotiation anymore," Ryutaro said.
Ryutaro then fought alone and managed to defeat all of them.
After the short battle, Ryutaro approached Alice, who was still in disbelief about the situation.
"Get up, Alice. We’re not done yet," Ryutaro said.
"But I still can’t believe it. I just lost my father, and now my own mother is accusing me of killing him!" Alice said.
"So, what are you going to do? Surrender just like that?" Ryutaro said.
"I think it’s better if I turn myself in and ask my mother directly," Alice said.
Miyuki immediately approached Alice and slapped her because she was angry.
"(Slapping Alice’s cheek) Turn yourself in? Don’t joke. If it’s true, wouldn’t your mother tell you everything?" Miyuki said.
"(Rubbing her cheek) But that’s the only way for us to understand my mother’s true intentions," Alice said.
"(Sighing) And after you know everything, what will you do? Fight her alone? Don’t burden yourself," Miyuki said.
Although Miyuki’s words seemed harsh, Alice eventually realized the meaning behind them.
Alice finally got up from her despair and apologized to them.
"I’m sorry, everyone. I shouldn’t have said that," Alice said.
"It’s okay. I shouldn’t have been too harsh with you," Miyuki said.
"Are we good now? Then let’s head into the palace," Ryutaro said.
They all got into the car and continued their journey to the palace.
Meanwhile, inside the palace, Queen Elisabeth, Alice’s mother, sat on the royal throne and looked into the crystal ball to see if her soldiers could capture Alice and the others.
"It seems they failed to capture Alice and the others," Queen Elisabeth said.
She then called for Charlotte, who had been brainwashed, to go after them.
"Charlotte, now I order you to capture Alice and the others by any means necessary. And remember, don’t kill them," the Queen ordered.
"As you wish, Your Majesty," Charlotte replied with a blank stare.
Charlotte immediately went to where Ryutaro and the others were.
Back with Ryutaro, as they were on their way, Ryutaro expressed his concern about Charlotte.
"By the way, I’m worried about Charlotte. I hope she’s okay," Ryutaro said.
"I’m worried about her too. Hopefully, nothing bad happens to her," Grace said.
"I hope so too," Ryutaro said.
They finally arrived at the gates of the Rossete palace, and Ryutaro asked them if they were ready.
"Well, we’ve arrived. Are you all ready?" Ryutaro said.
"Of course, we’re ready. How about you?" Grace said.
"I’m ready too, but I’m worried about Charlotte," Aurelia said.
"I’m ready because I want to see my mother," Alice said.
"Same here," Miyuki said.
"Good, everyone is ready. It’s time to get out of the car," Ryutaro said.
They all got out of the car to enter the palace.
However, as soon as they exited the car, Ryutaro sensed something familiar approaching them quickly.
"Watch out!" Ryutaro shouted.
Ryutaro immediately protected them with his magic.
When the figure reached them, Ryutaro immediately asked, "Who are you, and why are you here?"
"Traitors must be eliminated," the figure replied.
Ryutaro was shocked to hear the voice, which sounded like Charlotte’s.
"That voice... Could it be Charlotte?" Ryutaro said.
"Oh, so you recognize me, traitor," Charlotte said.
Aurelia was shocked because the figure was indeed Charlotte.
"Charlotte, why are you attacking us? Don’t you remember us?" Aurelia asked.
"Yeah, what’s your reason for attacking us?" Miyuki asked.
Charlotte didn’t answer their questions and immediately rushed to attack them.
"I won’t let you!" Ryutaro said.
Ryutaro quickly parried her attack to protect the others.
As Ryutaro held off Charlotte’s attack, he asked his father what had happened to her.
"Father, why is she like this?" Ryutaro asked.
"It’s because she’s being controlled," his father replied.
"Controlled? Are there really Children of Ruin spies here?" Ryutaro said.
"Yes, that’s their power," his father confirmed.
"So, what should I use to wake her up?" Ryutaro asked.
"Didn’t you learn the technique I taught you? Use it," his father said.
"Alright, Father," Ryutaro said.
Ryutaro immediately pushed Charlotte away from him.
"Are you okay?" Alice asked.
"I’m fine," Ryutaro said.
"So, why is she like this?" Grace said.
"My father said she’s being controlled, that’s why she’s acting like this," Ryutaro said.
"I see. That explains why she attacked us," Aurelia said.
"So, what are we going to do now?" Miyuki said.
"I have a plan. You guys hold her off for a moment while I use the technique my father taught me," Ryutaro said. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Alright, we’ll hold her off, but don’t take too long," Grace said.
"And you two, protect Ryutaro," Aurelia said.
"Alright, leave it to us," Miyuki said.
"Yeah, you hold her off while Miyuki and I protect Ryutaro so his technique isn’t interrupted," Alice said.
Ryutaro, Alice, and Miyuki stepped back, while Grace and Aurelia held off Charlotte.
"Hey Charlotte, how’s it going? You’ve been controlled all this time, huh?" Aurelia said.
"So, you’re the ones stepping up? Where’s that guy?" Charlotte said.
"He? He’s preparing something for you," Grace said.
"Preparing something? Ha, you think I’ll give you time to do anything?" Charlotte said.
Charlotte immediately charged toward Ryutaro, but Grace easily stopped her.
"As long as I’m here, don’t even think about getting near him," Grace said.
"Tch, it won’t be easy to get close to him," Charlotte said.
Just then, Aurelia cast her magic.
"Crystal Chains of Frost!"
As Aurelia cast the spell, chains erupted from the ground, quickly wrapping around Charlotte’s body, immobilizing her.
"What is this? Why can’t I move?" Charlotte said.
"Of course, these chains won’t be easy to break," Aurelia said.
After Aurelia held Charlotte in place, Ryutaro finished his technique.
"Good job, everyone. Now it’s my turn," Ryutaro said.
Ryutaro immediately cast his spell.
"Sanctuary of the Light!"
In an instant, a bright light surrounded Ryutaro, and soon after, Charlotte began to regain her senses.
"What happened? Why am I chained here?" Charlotte said.
"Welcome back," Ryutaro said.
"Ryutaro, Grace, Aurelia, Miyuki, Alice, why are you all here?" Charlotte asked.
"Because we’re ready to finish rescuing Alice, that’s why we came back. So, why were you controlled like that?" Ryutaro asked.
"Before that, could you please release these bindings? They’re really tight," Charlotte said.
"Oh, sorry, I forgot," Aurelia said.
Aurelia quickly released the chains, and once free, Charlotte explained what had happened to her since Ryutaro and the others left. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
