Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Secrets Beneath the Castle

"This is the map that shows where your father’s body is kept. Only those with this ring can enter that place," his father explained.

"Hmm, so this is why they’re targeting Alice’s father. He has the ring, and his body might be a suitable vessel for Xerathos," Ryutaro speculated.

"So, what did your father say?" Charlotte asked.

"This is still just a possibility, but my father said they’re looking for someone whose body is suitable to become a vessel for Xerathos’ resurrection," Ryutaro explained.

Alice, who was nearby Grace, asked Ryutaro what this had to do with her father.

"If they’re looking for a vessel for Xerathos’ resurrection, why are they targeting my father?" Alice asked.

"For one reason: it seems like they want to use your father’s body as the vessel, and the ring is the key to getting there," Ryutaro explained.
