Chapter 39: Chapter 39: The Truth Behind Alice’s Father’s Death

After Alice calmed down, Ryutaro’s father, who was inside his mind, urged him to touch Alice’s father’s corpse because he sensed something unusual about it.

"Ryutaro, try touching your father’s body for a moment," said Ryutaro’s father.

"Why, Dad?" asked Ryutaro.

"I sense something very strange about this corpse," Ryutaro’s father replied.

"Alright, Dad," said Ryutaro.

Alice, who was standing beside him, asked if Ryutaro’s father had said anything.

"What’s wrong, Ryutaro? Did your father say anything to you?" Alice asked.

"Yes, my father told me to touch your father’s corpse because he feels something strange about it," Ryutaro explained.

"Oh, in that case, hurry and touch it. I want to know what’s strange about my father’s body," said Alice.

"Alright, then. Excuse me," said Ryutaro.

Ryutaro immediately touched Alice’s father’s corpse and asked his father what was strange about it.

"(Touching the arm of Alice’s father’s corpse) So, what’s strange?" Ryutaro asked.

"Just as I suspected, your father was killed by the Children of Ruin sect," said Ryutaro’s father.

"Children of Ruin? What is that?" Ryutaro asked.

Hearing Ryutaro’s question, his father explained what the Children of Ruin were.

"Children of Ruin is a sect that fanatically worships Xerathos. They will do anything to please their god without considering the consequences for the world," Ryutaro’s father explained.

"Oh, but why are you so sure that the ones who killed Alice’s father are the Children of Ruin?" Ryutaro asked.

"Because, back when I was still alive, I fought one of their members, and their power is identical to the residue left on his body," said Ryutaro’s father.

"I see... So how did they target Alice’s father?" Ryutaro asked.

"That’s what I don’t know. Why would they target him? Did he have something that could accelerate the resurrection of their god?" Ryutaro’s father wondered.

"Hmm, if that’s the case, then we need to be careful from now on," Ryutaro said.

"Exactly. And don’t let anyone know that you’re my child, because they might target you too," Ryutaro’s father warned.

"Alright, I’ll be careful from now on. I hope my identity doesn’t get exposed," Ryutaro replied.

"Good. Now, go tell them so they won’t worry," Ryutaro’s father said.

"Okay, Dad," Ryutaro said.

After talking to his father about the strange details regarding the corpse, Ryutaro immediately informed the others about what had happened.

"So, what did your father say about the strange circumstances surrounding my father’s death?" Alice asked.

"Yes, my father knows, but it’s deeper than we thought," Ryutaro replied. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"Deeper? What do you mean?" Grace asked.

"Yeah, don’t leave us hanging," Aurelia added.

Miyuki also approached Ryutaro, urging him to explain what had happened.

"So, what happened? Don’t leave us worried," Miyuki said.

Ryutaro explained the situation to them.

"Hold on, let me explain. Alice, your father was most likely killed by the Children of Ruin, a sect that fanatically worships Xerathos," Ryutaro said.

The four of them were shocked by Ryutaro’s words.

"Huh? Are you serious? You’re not lying, are you?" Alice asked.

"Yeah, you’re not joking, right?" Grace asked.

"I’m serious. I wouldn’t joke around in a situation like this," Ryutaro assured them.

"But if that’s true, what are they after? Why would they dare kill someone, even a king?" Aurelia asked.

"Yeah, and how did they know about Alice’s father?" Miyuki asked.

"In my opinion, he must have been hiding something. Plus, it seems like there’s a spy in the Rossete Kingdom," Ryutaro suggested.

"That makes sense. So, what should we do now?" Grace asked.

"My father said that we should try to keep my identity as the First Hero’s child a secret, to avoid attracting their attention," Ryutaro replied.

"Oh, in that case, we’ll all make sure to keep this secret," Grace said.

The others nodded in agreement with Grace’s words.

"Alright then, what should we do with Alice’s father’s body?" Ryutaro asked.

"Actually, I was thinking of burying my father here, but I’m worried my mother will be upset about it," Alice replied.

"So, we should take his body back to the palace and give him a proper burial?" Ryutaro asked.

"Yes, that’s what I was thinking, but how do we do that?" Alice asked.

"Don’t we still have the carriage? Why not use it to take him?" Ryutaro suggested. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"Eh, didn’t you notice, Ryutaro? The carriage is already destroyed," Alice pointed out.

Ryutaro looked toward the carriage and realized that he had been too focused on Alice’s father’s body to notice it was destroyed.

"Ah, sorry, I was too focused on examining your father’s body, so I didn’t realize the carriage was destroyed," Ryutaro apologized.

"Hmm, forget it. Now, let’s figure out how to get my father’s body back," Alice said.

They began thinking about how to transport Alice’s father’s body, given that the carriage was destroyed.

Then, Ryutaro’s father gave him a suggestion on how to transport the body.

"Hmm, my son, I have an idea. Why don’t you buy a car from your system shop?" Ryutaro’s father suggested.

"But can I really do that? Last time I checked, the cheapest car costs one million points, and I only have 100,000 points," Ryutaro replied.

"That’s not a problem. Now, check how many points you have," Ryutaro’s father instructed.

Ryutaro quickly opened his status and accessed the shop. He was shocked when he saw the amount of points he had.

System Information:

BIP

Name: Ryutaro

Points: 1 billion points

If there’s anything you’d like to purchase, just imagine it and make sure you have enough points.

"Wow, seriously? How did I end up with this much?" Ryutaro asked in disbelief.

"Yes, that’s your total points. The reason it’s so much is because I gave you some of the points I collected, and also because you saved one of your wives, right?" Ryutaro’s father explained.

"Some of your points? Just how many do you have, Dad?" Ryutaro asked.

"We can talk about that later. For now, you can buy the car," Ryutaro’s father said.

"Oh, okay," Ryutaro replied.

After talking to his father, Ryutaro thought about a car they could use to transport Alice’s father’s body safely.

As soon as Ryutaro imagined the car, one appeared before them. The three of them were shocked by the appearance of the four-wheeled vehicle, and Miyuki was particularly puzzled about where it came from.

"What is this?" Alice asked.

"Yeah, I’ve never seen this kind of vehicle before," Aurelia said.

"Even I, who’s lived for 500 years, have never seen a vehicle like this," Grace added.

Miyuki explained the vehicle and also asked how it appeared.

"This is a car, just like a carriage, but it doesn’t need horses. It runs on fuel," Miyuki explained.

"That’s right. I want this vehicle to make our journey faster so we can deliver Alice’s father’s body without wasting time," Ryutaro said.

"But I still want to ask you, Ryutaro, how did this car appear?" Miyuki asked.

"Didn’t I tell you? I have a shop where I can buy anything from our world," Ryutaro replied.

"Oh, right. I forgot about that," Miyuki said.

"Everyone understand now? If so, let’s hurry back. I’m worried that the spies might be targeting Alice’s mother," Ryutaro said.

They all got into the car, and Ryutaro carefully placed Alice’s father’s body inside. Once everyone was in, the car started moving.

What will happen to Alice’s mother when she learns her husband is dead? What exactly is the Children of Ruin after in targeting Alice’s father? And who is the spy in the Rossete Kingdom? Stay tuned for Chapter 40.
