Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Encounter with Shohei

"Alright then, let’s go pick up Miyuki with King Gilbert," said Ryutaro.

"Okay," they all agreed.

The four of them immediately made their way to the wedding venue. However, just as they stepped forward, a sudden attack came from the south.

"Watch out!" Ryutaro warned. freёweɓnovel.com

Ryutaro quickly reacted by raising his protective barrier to shield them.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking us?" Ryutaro demanded.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the smoke.

"Hahaha, I finally found you, Ryutaro!" the figure laughed.

"That voice... could it be you, Shohei?" Ryutaro asked.

"You’re right, I’m Shohei, the one you stepped on two days ago!" Shohei replied.

"So, you came here just for revenge?" Ryutaro asked.

"Of course, why else would I come all the way here?" Shohei retorted.

"Don’t you realize that, even if you seek revenge, you will lose again, just like last time?" Grace said.

"That was then, what about now, when you feel the power I have?" Shohei taunted.

With that, Shohei launched magic towards Grace, but Ryutaro quickly deflected it.

"Are you alright, Ryutaro?" Grace asked.

"I’m fine, but what’s going on with his power?" Ryutaro wondered.

"Oh, so you noticed, huh? Let me tell you—I’ve gained power from the God of Darkness," Shohei revealed.

"The God of Darkness? You mean Xerathos?" Ryutaro questioned.

"Ha, so you know. You’re right, it’s him who gave me this power," Shohei admitted.

"Do you realize that if you keep using that power, you will lose yourself?" Ryutaro warned.

"I don’t care! As long as I can kill you, I’ll sacrifice myself if I must. I don’t care, as long as you die. That’s a small price to pay," Shohei declared.

"It seems like there’s no saving him now," Ryutaro muttered to himself.

Ryutaro glanced at his women and instructed them to go and fetch Miyuki.

"You three go ahead. I’ll handle him alone," Ryutaro said.

"Alone? Don’t joke around, he’s using the power of the God of Darkness. You’ll definitely lose, Ryutaro!" Alice shouted.

"You’re right, you’ll lose! At least let us help!" Aurelia said.

"I understand your concern, but don’t worry. I won’t lose. That’s my promise to you," Ryutaro reassured them.

"But..." Alice started.

"Don’t waste time, Grace. Go, quickly, and bring Miyuki and her father," Ryutaro urged.

"Alright, dear, but remember, if you lose, I’ll never forgive you," Grace said.

Grace quickly lifted Alice, who was full of worry, and the three of them moved away.

"I won’t let you run!" Shohei shouted.

As Shohei launched a spell at them, he suddenly redirected his attack.

"You’re fighting me, not them," Ryutaro declared.

"Tch, I wanted to make them my hostages to make you surrender, but fine, if that’s what you want," Shohei said.

Hearing Shohei’s words, Ryutaro became furious. He couldn’t stand the thought of his women being used as hostages.

"What did you say? Say it again," Ryutaro demanded.

"Hahaha, are you angry, Ryutaro? Fine, I’ll say it again. I want to make them my hostages. Are you satisfied now, Ryutaro?" Shohei mocked.

"Take back your words, or you’ll regret it," Ryutaro warned.

"Regret? Hahah, don’t make me laugh, Ryutaro. With this power, you can never defeat me!" Shohei laughed.

"So you refuse to take back your words, Shohei? Fine, then," Ryutaro said.

In an instant, Ryutaro charged toward Shohei, creating a loud explosion of sound.

Hearing the explosion, Grace, Aurelia, and Alice paused for a moment, concerned about Ryutaro.

"That sound came from Ryutaro. I have to help him!" Alice exclaimed.

"Don’t be reckless, he’s fine," Grace reassured her.

"Yes, don’t disturb him while he’s fighting," Aurelia added.

"But I’m worried about him! Don’t you both care about him?" Alice said, still anxious.

"Of course we care, but he’s someone who keeps his promises. Trust him," Grace said.

"That’s right. If we help him, we’ll only be a burden," Aurelia added. freewebnøvel.com

After hearing their words, Alice finally calmed down.

"You’re right. I’m sorry. Let’s hurry and pick up my father and Miyuki," Alice said.

"Let’s go, don’t keep Ryutaro waiting," Grace said.

The three of them continued their journey toward the wedding venue.

Meanwhile, at the wedding venue...

Miyuki, who had been waiting for an answer from Ryutaro and the others, was growing worried since she hadn’t received a reply yet.

"Why are they taking so long? Did they fail?" Miyuki wondered.

Alice’s father, who was nearby, answered her question, trying to ease her worries.

"Maybe they just forgot, or they’re still looking for your room. You know how big this palace is," Alice’s father said.

"You’re right. Maybe it’s just my worry," Miyuki said, reassured.

Shortly after, King Gilbert’s son, Lucien, arrived, looking very angry.

"My son, why have you come here? Isn’t the reception still far off?" King Gilbert asked.

"Father, what’s going on with the assassins you gave me? None of them are useful," Lucien complained.

"Calm down, my son. Those are the best assassins I prepared specifically for you. How could they not be useful? Now tell me, why are they useless?" King Gilbert asked.

"Best assassins, you say? Don’t joke, father. If they’re the best, how could they not catch a single person?" Lucien said angrily.

"Catch one person? Who is it, my son?" King Gilbert asked.

"Of course, the person you invited here a few days ago, and then you threw them into the Black Forest," Lucien explained.

"Do you mean Ryutaro? But he wasn’t invited. How could he know about it?" King Gilbert asked.

"That’s what I want to ask you, father. How could he know? Unless someone leaked the invitation to him?" Lucien said suspiciously.

"Hmm, maybe you’re right, my son. But who would it be?" King Gilbert pondered.

"I might know who leaked the invitation to him," Lucien said.

"Who do you suspect, my son?" King Gilbert asked.

Lucien pointed towards Alice’s father and Miyuki.

"It must be them," Lucien accused.

"Ha? You’re accusing them? What’s your reason, my son?" King Gilbert asked.

"Of course! They suddenly came and took Alice away from me. Who else could it be?" Lucien said.

"Ha? They took Alice from you? That can’t be left unchecked. Soldiers, arrest them both!" King Gilbert ordered, calling for his soldiers.

At once, the soldiers arrived, surrounding Alice’s father and Miyuki.

"What is this? Don’t you know this could lead to war between our kingdoms?" Alice’s father protested.

"Don’t talk back. You sent Ryutaro to take your child away from his wedding," King Gilbert accused.

"Oh, so the commotion between father and son was because of this? Fine, let me tell you—why did he take my child?" Alice’s father said sarcastically.

"Don’t joke. She’s my son’s fiancée. You asked for help to take her back?" King Gilbert said.

"Hahahaha, don’t make me laugh, Albert. My child has never liked yours, and Ryutaro is the real fiancé of my child. He’s also the next king of the Rosette Kingdom. Don’t think that if you kill me here, you can take my kingdom," Alice’s father said confidently.

Hearing these words, King Gilbert immediately ordered his soldiers to kill Alice’s father.

"Alright, if that’s what you want, soldiers, kill him now!" King Gilbert commanded.

Just as the soldiers were about to strike Alice’s father, Miyuki, who was standing beside him, immediately cast her magic to protect him.

"Water Shield!"

A water shield appeared, protecting Alice’s father.

"Don’t think you can kill him while I’m still alive!" Miyuki declared.

Soon after, Grace, Aurelia, and Alice arrived at the scene, seeing that Miyuki and Alice’s father were surrounded.

What will Grace and the others do when they see Miyuki and Alice’s father surrounded? And what will happen to Ryutaro as he faces Shohei, now wielding the power of Xerathos? Stay tuned for Chapter 35!
