Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Sweet Encounter
Meanwhile, in the city of Rosette, Aurelia and Charlotte were happily enjoying the atmosphere of the city.
"Wow, there are so many people selling jewelry and food," said Aurelia.
"You’re right, this place is livelier than Independence City," Charlotte replied.
"How about we go to that cake shop over there?" Aurelia suggested, pointing at a bakery.
"You’re always thinking about food," Charlotte teased.
"Of course, even though I’m a Dragon Queen, I still need food, don’t I?" Aurelia said with a smile.
"Hmm, alright, let’s head to that shop," Charlotte agreed.
The two of them hurried to the bakery.
Upon arriving at the bakery, they found it filled with people enjoying their cakes. Aurelia’s eyes were drawn to a chocolate cake displayed in the shop’s showcase.
"Wow, that cake looks delicious," said Aurelia.
The two of them walked over to the showcase to buy the cake.
"How much is this chocolate cake?" Charlotte asked the shopkeeper.
"Sorry, this cake has already been reserved by someone," the shopkeeper replied.
"Oh, in that case, we’ll order something else," Charlotte said.
"Alright," said the shopkeeper.
After purchasing a different cake, they left the bakery.
"Such a shame we didn’t get the chocolate cake," Aurelia said.
"Well, at least the other cake is good too, right?" Charlotte replied.
"You’re right, but I’m curious, who reserved that cake?" Aurelia wondered.
"I don’t know, that’s none of our business," Charlotte shrugged.
The two of them continued their journey, enjoying the city atmosphere.
A few hours later, as they continued enjoying the city, Charlotte asked, "Where should we go next?"
"How about the park? It seems like it would be nice there," Aurelia suggested, pointing towards the park.
"You’re right, we could use some time to relax," Charlotte agreed.
They headed to the park and immediately made their way to one of the benches.
"This is really nice, it’s so peaceful here, unlike the bustling city," Charlotte commented.
"You’re right, it’s so pleasant and calm here. Maybe we can come back sometime, would you like that?" Aurelia asked.
"Good idea, we’ll ask Ryutaro about it later," Charlotte said.
They both settled onto the bench, relaxing.
"By the way, I’m curious about what Ryutaro will say regarding Miyuki’s question," Aurelia mused.
"Hmm, I think he’ll definitely agree. After all, Miyuki was really good to him when he was in his world," Charlotte said.
"That’s true, no matter what, she was the first woman who cared for him," Aurelia agreed.
"Seems like you both really enjoy this city, huh?" a voice said.
They both immediately turned around in surprise, and were taken aback to see Ryutaro standing behind them.
"Ryutaro, don’t scare us like that!" Aurelia exclaimed.
"Yeah, what’s the big idea? What if something happened?" Charlotte added.
"Sorry, sorry, I couldn’t help it. You two looked like you were deep in thought, so I decided to mess with you," Ryutaro explained.
"You’re really a troublemaker," Grace said, arriving with Miyuki, who was holding a basket.
"Sorry for making you wait. Oh, you two are here too?" Grace said, noticing Charlotte and Aurelia.
"Yeah, we were just relaxing here until someone decided to scare us," Charlotte said.
"You’re really mischievous," Grace commented. freewebnovel.cσ๓
"Well, they looked like they were lost in thought, so I just decided to mess with them," Ryutaro chuckled.
Everyone sighed, seeing Ryutaro’s antics.
"By the way, who are these two?" Miyuki asked.
"Ah, sorry, these two are..." Ryutaro began.
Before Ryutaro could finish, Aurelia and Charlotte interrupted.
"I’m Aurelia, one of Ryutaro’s wives," Aurelia said.
"I’m Charlotte, and I’m also one of his wives," Charlotte added.
"Oh, I’m Miyuki. Nice to meet you," Miyuki said shyly.
"So, if you’re with Ryutaro, that means he’s accepted you as well, right?" Aurelia asked.
"Uh... y-yes," Miyuki said, blushing.
"Don’t be shy, you’re part of the family now, so just relax," Aurelia reassured her.
"Aurelia’s right, just relax," Charlotte agreed.
"Ah, yes, sorry about that. Thank you for your help," Miyuki said.
After the introduction, Ryutaro took the basket that Grace had brought.
"Alright, now that we’re done with the introductions, let’s eat," Ryutaro said, opening the basket.
Aurelia and Charlotte were both shocked to see what was inside the basket.
"That’s the chocolate cake from the bakery, isn’t it, Charlotte?" Aurelia asked.
"You’re right, this is the cake we wanted to buy earlier. How did you get it, Ryutaro?" Charlotte asked.
"Well, when we went to the bakery, they told us it wasn’t ready yet, so we ordered something else. I didn’t expect it to be so popular, and there was only this much left," Ryutaro explained.
"So, you ordered this cake? Why did you order so much?" Aurelia asked.
"Well, it’s not like we’re just eating the three of us, right? It’s for all of us to share," Ryutaro said.
"Yeah, Ryutaro thought of all of you, even though I paid for it," Grace added.
"Sorry, sorry, I don’t have any money in this kingdom," Ryutaro said with a sheepish grin.
Everyone laughed at Ryutaro’s antics, and they each took a piece of cake.
"By the way, there are three pieces left. Who are you going to give them to?" Charlotte asked.
"Those are for Alice and her parents. They’re the ones who let us stay here for a while," Ryutaro explained.
"Wait a minute... Are you going to make her one of your wives too?" Aurelia asked suspiciously.
"I actually already discussed this with Miyuki and Grace," Ryutaro said.
"And what did they say?" Charlotte asked.
"I’m definitely fine with it," Grace said.
"Hmm, I’m not surprised by you, Grace. What about you, Miyuki?" Aurelia asked.
"I’m fine with it too. As the newest wife, I don’t have the right to reject it. Besides, Ryutaro said he would still take care of me," Miyuki said.
"So, what about you guys?" Ryutaro asked.
"Huff, since everyone agrees, I guess I’ll agree too. What about you, Aurelia?" Charlotte asked.
"I’m definitely fine with it. The more wives, the more complicated Ryutaro’s life will be," Aurelia said with a mischievous smile.
"You’re something else," Ryutaro chuckled.
Everyone laughed, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the park.
A few hours later...
"Now that it’s getting dark, how about we head back?" Ryutaro suggested.
"You’re right, it’s getting dark. What about you, Miyuki?" Grace asked.
"I’ll just head back to the dorm," Miyuki replied.
"Alright, see you tomorrow then," Ryutaro said.
They all went their separate ways. Before leaving, Ryutaro spoke to Miyuki.
"By the way, in two days we’re heading back. Would you like to stay with us? I’ll ask the king for permission," Ryutaro offered.
"Is that okay? Alright, I’ll get ready," Miyuki said, excited.
"Don’t worry, our house is big enough, so you can stay with us," Grace reassured her.
"I’d love to see where you live, Ryutaro," Miyuki said.
They all parted ways.
Back at the palace, Ryutaro and the others were surprised to see Alice’s parents looking downcast.
"What’s wrong?" Ryutaro asked.
"Oh, you’re back, Ryutaro. How was your trip?" Alice’s father asked.
"It was fun. The city is so peaceful. By the way, we brought something for you," Ryutaro said, handing over the cake they had bought in the city.
"By the way, where’s Alice? We haven’t seen her," Grace asked.
"You’re right. Where’s Alice, Your Majesty?" Ryutaro asked.
Alice’s father sighed and explained what had happened earlier that afternoon.
"Actually, Alice went to accept a proposal," Alice’s father said.
"Didn’t you say you rejected him earlier, Your Majesty?" Ryutaro asked.
"Yes, she did reject him, but they did something to us, so she had to accept it reluctantly," Alice’s father explained.
What did Alice’s father mean? And will Ryutaro go to save Alice? Stay tuned for Chapter 29.
