Chapter 25: Chapter 25: The Arrival of the Celestial Messengers
"The royal messengers from Celestia have arrived, Your Majesty," said the soldier.
"Ugh, they’re here again," Alice replied.
Ryutaro, noticing Alice seemed displeased by the arrival of the messengers, asked her, "Why are you scoffing, Alice?"
"When my father was in a coma, suddenly these messengers appeared, and they unexpectedly offered a marriage contract with me," Alice explained.
Her father sighed.
"So, they came while I was in a coma too?" Alice’s father asked.
"Yes, they came as well, Father," Alice replied.
"By the way, why are you sighing, Your Majesty?" Ryutaro asked.
"Because even when I was healthy, they kept sending marriage proposals directed to Alice, and I asked Alice if she would accept them," Alice’s father said.
Ryutaro then asked Alice, "And you rejected the proposal, Alice?"
Alice responded firmly, "Of course I rejected it. Who would want to marry such an ugly prince?"
Upon hearing Alice call the prince ugly, Ryutaro was taken aback.
"Huh, ugly?" Ryutaro asked.
Grace, who was sitting beside Ryutaro, turned to him and asked, "Haven’t you seen his appearance, dear?"
Ryutaro answered her question, "Of course not. When I was summoned here, I only saw Albert and the other mages."
"Oh, I see now," Grace replied.
Alice’s father, sitting at the table, was shocked as he realized that Ryutaro was also summoned to this world, just like he had done to Ryutaro’s classmates.
"Ryutaro, you were summoned to this world too?" Alice’s father asked.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you," Ryutaro replied.
Ryutaro then recounted the entire story of his arrival in this world, how he was abandoned in the Black Forest by King Albert, and how he ended up sitting before Alice’s father.
"That’s how it happened," Ryutaro concluded.
Hearing Ryutaro’s story, Alice’s father was furious.
"What? They did that because your job was just a farmer? Because they said you were supposed to fight the Demon King?" Alice’s father exclaimed.
"Yeah, that’s what happened," Ryutaro confirmed.
Alice’s father then revealed an important fact that Ryutaro had not been told.
"Ryutaro, do you know that the Demon King no longer exists in this era?" Alice’s father asked.
Ryutaro was shocked upon hearing this.
"What? That can’t be! Then what about Grace?" Ryutaro asked.
"I said the Demon King doesn’t exist in this era. But 500 years ago, Grace, your wife, was the last Demon Queen, and the only remaining demon race before the humans slaughtered them," Alice’s father explained.
Grace, who was sitting beside Ryutaro, was stunned.
"So, what happened to the rest of the race I saved that day?" Grace asked Alice’s father.
"Oh, you were sealed 500 years ago, so you wouldn’t know that 200 years ago, the race you saved sought revenge and tried to rescue you from your seal. But they were wiped out by a mysterious force," Alice’s father explained.
Grace immediately began to shed tears.
"So they all perished because they tried to save me?" Grace whispered.
"Yes, but don’t be sad, Grace. At least they didn’t sacrifice their lives for nothing," Alice’s father said gently.
Ryutaro, sitting next to Grace, tried to offer her some hope.
"That’s right, and maybe not all of them perished," Ryutaro said.
"What do you mean?" Grace asked, wiping her tears.
"I mean, maybe some of them survived. And by the way, Your Majesty, that story is just what’s written in history books, right?" Ryutaro asked.
"Yes, that’s how it’s written in the history books," Alice’s father confirmed.
"Well, then there’s still hope. Maybe they’re hiding and waiting for your return," Ryutaro said.
Hearing Ryutaro’s words, Grace’s spirits lifted, and she wiped away her tears.
"Alright, thank you for cheering me up, dear. You’re right; there’s still hope. I’ll go look for them," Grace said with newfound determination.
"Now, that’s the Grace I know," Ryutaro said, smiling.
Seeing Grace energized again, Aurelia, sitting on the other side, spoke up.
"By the way, what are you going to do about the messengers?" Aurelia asked.
"Oh, I almost forgot. So, what’s the plan, Your Majesty?" Ryutaro asked.
"For now, we’ll meet with them first," Alice’s father said.
"Alright, then I’ll head to the training room. What about you?" Ryutaro asked.
"Are you going to meet Miyuki, dear?" Grace asked.
"Yes, I’ll go. I also want to see what the training room is like," Ryutaro replied.
"In that case, I’ll go with you," Grace said.
"Seriously, you want to come with me?" Ryutaro asked, surprised.
"Of course, I want to. I haven’t talked to her much either," Grace replied.
"Alright, then what about you two?" Ryutaro asked.
"I think I’ll take a walk around the city. How about you, Charlotte?" Aurelia asked.
"I’ll just go with you," Charlotte said.
They all went their separate ways. Alice, her mother, and Alice’s father went to the royal hall to meet the messengers, while Ryutaro and Grace headed to the training room. Aurelia and Charlotte went to the city.
In the Training Room
Ryutaro and Grace arrived at the training room.
"So, this is the training room," Ryutaro said.
However, Ryutaro’s gaze stopped at Miyuki, who was training.
"Hey, that’s Miyuki," Ryutaro said.
Grace, sitting next to him, immediately looked over at Miyuki.
"Yeah, that’s her. It looks like she’s waiting for your answer, dear," Grace said.
"Let’s wait until she finishes her training," Ryutaro suggested.
"Good idea. I’m curious to know what answer you’ll give her," Grace said.
They decided to wait until Miyuki finished her training.
After the Training
"That’s enough for today’s training. See you tomorrow," the instructor said.
"Phew, finally done," Miyuki sighed. "Today’s training was really tough."
"Yeah, it was. How about we go to the city?" one of the others suggested.
While everyone was busy with their own affairs, Shohei approached Miyuki and offered her a drink.
"Here, you must be tired after a whole day of training, right?" Shohei said, handing her the drink.
As Miyuki was about to take the drink, she noticed Ryutaro sitting off to the side.
"Hey, isn’t that Ryutaro and Grace? What are they doing here?" Miyuki murmured to herself.
Suddenly, Miyuki walked over to Ryutaro and Grace, leaving Shohei standing alone, which made him angry. frёeωebɳovel.com
Miyuki arrived at Ryutaro and Grace’s side.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Miyuki asked.
"Oh, Miyuki, we’re just checking out the training room," Ryutaro replied.
"Yeah, and maybe Ryutaro will give you an answer to your question," Grace added.
"So, have you thought about it, Ryutaro?" Miyuki asked.
"Yeah, I’ve thought about it. My answer is..." Ryutaro began.
What will Ryutaro’s answer be? And what will Shohei do after seeing Miyuki’s behavior toward him? Find out in Chapter 26.
