Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Comeback
Sylvia’s POV
I stood over Leo’s crumpled form, watching him writhe on the office floor with a cold satisfaction burning through my veins. The stunned silence that blanketed the office was almost as sweet as the fear flickering in his eyes.
"Leo," I said, brushing my hands together as if wiping away dirt, "did you really think I’d let you push me around anymore?" The corner of my lips curled into a frigid smile. "I warned you that I’m not someone to be trifled with."
Leo grimaced in pain, his face contorted with a mixture of agony, fear, and pure hatred. The realization that I—the woman he’d dismissed as weak and disposable—had physically overpowered him was clearly crushing his fragile ego.
He struggled pathetically, trying to regain his footing, but his body betrayed him. The throw had done more damage than I’d anticipated. Good.
"You... you crazy bitch!" he screeched, his voice rising to a humiliating pitch. "You attacked me! I’ll sue you! I’ll destroy whatever’s left of your pathetic career!"
I laughed softly, the sound devoid of warmth. With deliberate slowness, I pressed the tip of my designer heel against his knuckles—not hard enough to break skin, but with enough pressure to send a clear message.
"Sue me?" I purred, leaning slightly forward. "By all means, go ahead. Let’s see who falls first."
Just then, the project manager burst through the gathered crowd, his eyes widening at the chaotic scene before him.
"What the hell is going on here?" he demanded, his authoritative voice cutting through the whispers.
I calmly removed my foot from Leo’s hand and straightened my posture. Unlike the trembling mess on the floor, I showed no signs of distress or anxiety.
"Mr. Harrison," I addressed the project manager with cool professionalism, "I’d like to formally report Leo for persistent workplace sexual harassment against myself and other female colleagues."
I swept my gaze around the office, making deliberate eye contact with several women who had suffered similar treatment. My voice remained steady and clear, carrying to every corner of the now-silent workspace.
"Leo has repeatedly engaged in inappropriate verbal conduct, unwanted physical contact, and has explicitly implied that professional advancement could be exchanged for... personal favors." I paused, letting the gravity of my accusation settle. "I believe many of my colleagues can attest to similar experiences."
My words triggered an explosion of whispers and gasps throughout the office.
"So that’s why he was always hovering around the new female interns..."
"God, I thought I was the only one who noticed those creepy stares..."
"He cornered me in the copy room last month, but I was too scared to say anything..."
Leo’s face drained of all color. He pointed a shaking finger at me, desperately trying to salvage what remained of his reputation. "She’s lying! This is slander! When have I ever harassed anyone?"
The corner of my mouth quirked upward in a knowing smirk. "Really, Leo? You want to deny the suggestive messages you’ve sent? The ’accidental’ touches during company dinners? The not-so-subtle hints that certain favors could lead to promotions and raises?"
With each accusation, he seemed to shrink further into himself. His mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, unable to form a coherent defense against the truth.
"Mr. Harrison, I have evidence," came a voice from behind me.
I turned to see Rachel, a junior account manager, step forward with her phone in hand. Her hand trembled slightly, but her eyes burned with newfound courage.
"I saved the messages," she said, pressing play on an audio recording.
Leo’s unmistakable voice filled the office, slurring inappropriate suggestions about "after-hours meetings" and "special ways" Rachel could "impress" him for a promotion. The disgust on everyone’s faces was palpable.
"I have proof too," said another voice. Emily from marketing held up her phone, displaying several photos of Leo’s hand "accidentally" placed on female colleagues’ lower backs, thighs, and shoulders during company events.
The evidence was damning. Leo lay on the floor, all fight gone from his body, replaced by the pallor of a man watching his career and reputation disintegrate before his eyes.
I smoothed down my slightly rumpled sleeve, maintaining my composed demeanor while Leo’s pathetic whimpers continued to echo through the office. The project manager’s expression fluctuated between shock, disgust, and uncertainty as he assessed the situation.
Around us, employees huddled in small groups, their excited whispers and wide-eyed stares making it clear that this would be office gossip for months to come.
Author’s POV
Sylvia’s icy demeanor hadn’t yet thawed as she exited the office.
Meanwhile, at the Frostfang Pack mansion across town, Alpha Astra Frost was elegantly enjoying her breakfast, a subtle smile playing across her lips as she savored the quiet morning. The luxurious living room around her reflected the pack’s status as one of the most prestigious in Howling Peaks.
Suddenly, the shrill ring of her phone shattered the peaceful atmosphere.
"Hello?" Alpha Astra’s voice was controlled as she answered.
"Alpha, we have a situation at the company!" The project manager’s voice was bordering on hysterical. "Ms. Sylvia physically confronted Leo! The office is in complete chaos. You need to come immediately!"
Astra’s face instantly hardened, fine lines creasing around her eyes despite her meticulous skincare regimen. Without another word, she ended the call, abandoned her exquisite breakfast, and grabbed her designer handbag before rushing out of the mansion.
The Frostfang Pack had always prided itself on maintaining a flawless public image. Sylvia causing such a scene - actually putting hands on someone - was unacceptable. It threatened everything Astra had built.
When she arrived at the company in a whirlwind of barely contained fury, the office was in complete disarray. Several female employees were huddled together in tears, sharing their testimonies of Leo’s predatory behavior. Leo himself sat in the corner, nursing his injured hand, his face ashen as he muttered bitter curses under his breath.
After reassuring the distressed women that justice would be served, Astra’s expression darkened as she beckoned Sylvia into her private office.
"Have you completely lost your mind?" Astra growled as soon as the door closed, her voice low but vibrating with intensity. "Attacking someone at the company? You’ve brought shame to the entire Frostfang Pack!"
Sylvia faced her mother without flinching, her gaze equally cold. "Attack? He was sexually harassing female colleagues. I merely defended myself and them."
"Defended?" Astra laughed bitterly. "You call leaving him in that condition self-defense? Sylvia, have you no respect for pack law? For me as your mother?"
"Mom, I did what was right," Sylvia replied, her tone steady but with an unmistakable undertone of defiance. "Would you rather I stood by and watched those women suffer while doing nothing?"
"You..." Astra found herself momentarily speechless.
Taking a deep breath to regain her composure, Astra knew confronting her daughter head-on would only strengthen Sylvia’s resolve. Her daughter’s stubborn streak was legendary, even for an Alpha bloodline.
"Sylvia, your actions were excessive. Leo’s behavior was inappropriate, yes, but physically engaging him in the workplace crosses a line. This incident damages our company’s reputation. You need to apologize to him."
Sylvia’s eyebrow arched, her crimson lips curving into a mocking smile. "Apologize? For what exactly? He harassed multiple women. How am I the one at fault here?"
"You..." Astra’s face flushed with anger, her chest heaving. "Do you have any respect for me as your Alpha? As your mother? When I tell you to apologize, you do it!"
Sylvia’s eyes were like ice, her stance unyielding. "I did nothing wrong. I will not apologize."
She paused, meeting her mother’s gaze directly. "Mom, I want to return to Frostline Enterprises."
Astra froze, caught off guard by the sudden request. She scrutinized her daughter, her eyes filled with suspicion and distrust. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"Return to the company? On what grounds? Do you think Frostline is your personal playground where you can come and go as you please?"
"On the grounds that I can secure the Vertex project," Sylvia stated confidently, her words carrying absolute certainty.
Astra’s anger flared at her daughter’s audacity. "Fine! I’ll give you this chance. If you can land the Vertex project, you can return. But if you fail, don’t ever think about coming back to Frostline Enterprises!"
A confident smile played across Sylvia’s lips. "We have a deal."
With that, Sylvia turned and strode out of the office, missing the flash of concern that briefly softened Astra’s harsh expression as she watched her daughter leave.
Meanwhile, Leo was clearing out his desk after being terminated from Frostline Enterprises. He could feel the weight of judgmental stares and hushed whispers from his former colleagues, making his skin crawl with humiliation.
His heart festered with hatred – this was all Sylvia’s fault! His fingers curled into tight fists, nails digging painfully into his palms as his eyes darkened with malice.
This wasn’t over. He would make sure Sylvia Frost paid for what she had done to him. His wolf snarled within him, craving revenge against the she-wolf who had humiliated him in front of the entire office. No female – especially not one pretending to be less than she was – would destroy his reputation and walk away unscathed.
