Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Perfect Shoulder Throw
Sylvia’s POV
I could see the realization dawning in Leo’s eyes—he had severely underestimated me, and it was going to cost him dearly. The truth hit him like a physical blow: I was far more dangerous than he had ever imagined.
Cold sweat beaded on his forehead as his lips trembled, unable to form a coherent response. I didn’t waste any more breath on him. I’d made my point.
With a satisfied smirk, I turned and strode out of his office, my designer heels clicking rhythmically against the marble floor. Each step echoed like the countdown to his demise.
As I entered the main employee area, hushed whispers immediately spread through the office like wildfire.
"Sylvia? What’s she doing here? Didn’t she quit?"
"Who knows? Probably crawling back to beg Director Leo for her job."
The contemptuous murmurs floated around me, but I didn’t dignify them with a response. My wolf stirred inside me, wanting to put these gossipers in their place, but I kept her calm. They’d learn soon enough.
I was heading toward my former desk to collect a few personal items I’d left behind when I felt a violent grip on my shoulder. Before I could react, a sharp, stinging pain exploded across my cheek.
"CRACK!"
"You little bitch! How dare you threaten me!" Leo roared, his face contorted with rage, resembling a feral animal more than a corporate executive.
The slap caught me off guard, sending shock waves through my head and momentarily blurring my vision. The office fell into stunned silence—no one could believe Leo had actually struck me in the middle of the workplace.
I took a deep breath, fighting the primal urge to shift and tear his throat out. My inner wolf was howling for retribution, but I needed to handle this strategically. This wasn’t just about me anymore—it was about showing everyone who I truly was.
Slowly, I lowered the hand that had instinctively risen to my stinging cheek. My eyes locked onto his with glacial intensity as I enunciated each word with deadly precision: "Leo, you are finished." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
He let out a derisive snort. "Finished? Who do you think you’re intimidating? You think those little documents mean anything? Let me remind you, I’m Ms. Frost’s man! Touch me, and you’re touching her!" freeweɓnøvel.com
A cold smile spread across my lips. "Selene? You really think she can protect you after this public spectacle? You’ve officially outlived your usefulness."
The contempt in my gaze was unmistakable, cutting into him like a razor-sharp blade directly to his heart.
"You..." he stammered, his bravado faltering as he sensed the shift in power between us. Realizing he was losing control of the situation, he spat out, "You worthless slut! You’ll regret this!" Then turned to flee.
Did he really think I’d let him walk away after he’d struck me in front of the entire office? My hand shot out, grabbing his collar and yanking him back with a strength that surprised even the onlookers.
"Running away so soon?" I taunted, my voice dangerously soft.
Without hesitation, I delivered a retaliatory slap across his face that echoed even louder than the one he’d given me. The sound cracked through the office like a whip, drawing gasps from my former colleagues.
"You—you hit me?" Leo shrieked, his voice rising to a hysterical pitch. "You’re dead! You hear me? DEAD!"
I laughed, the sound cold and devoid of humor. "Yes, I hit you. What are you going to do about it? Come at me if you dare."
My challenge pushed him over the edge. With an incoherent howl of rage, he lunged at me, arms outstretched like claws.
The surrounding employees scrambled into action:
"Stop it! Stop fighting!"
"Leo, have you lost your mind? Back off!"
"Sylvia, run! Get out of here!"
But I stood my ground. As he charged, my body moved with the fluid grace of a predator who had been hiding in sheep’s clothing for far too long. I caught his wrist in mid-air, twisting it sharply as I pulled him toward me.
Before he could process what was happening, I executed a perfect shoulder throw, using his own momentum against him.
"THUD!"
The impact of his body hitting the marble floor echoed throughout the office, followed by his agonized groan. The stunned silence that followed was almost as satisfying as the look of complete shock on everyone’s faces.
