Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Fire

Sylvia’s POV

I woke up feeling refreshed the next morning, my mind clear and focused on what needed to be done. The soft morning light filtered through the curtains as I stood before the mirror, adjusting my crisp white pantsuit. The sharp tailoring accentuated my figure perfectly, giving me that commanding presence I’d suppressed for far too long.

My wolf purred with satisfaction at my reflection. Three years of playing the submissive omega had taken their toll, but today, I was reclaiming who I truly was—the daughter of Astra Frost, future Alpha of the Frostfang Pack.

"Being fired is the best thing that could have happened to me," I whispered to myself, applying a final touch of deep red lipstick.

As I drove to Frostline Enterprises, I felt my confidence growing with every mile. Caesar’s words from last night echoed in my mind: "I’ve got your back." Something about his support felt different than anything I’d experienced before—it wasn’t controlling or condescending. It felt like genuine respect.

The moment I entered the building’s grand lobby, heads turned. My stiletto heels clicked rhythmically against the marble floor, each step a declaration of my arrival. The sound echoed through the atrium like a war drum, announcing that Sylvia Frost had returned—not as a meek employee, but as a force to be reckoned with.

The front desk receptionist’s eyes widened when she saw me approaching. Her hand moved toward the phone, probably to alert security, but something in my expression made her freeze. My wolf’s presence must have been radiating through, because she quickly looked down, avoiding eye contact—a classic submission response.

I strode past without breaking my pace, heading straight for Leo’s office on the executive floor. Not a single person attempted to stop me.

When I reached his door, I didn’t bother knocking. I shoved it open with enough force that it slammed against the wall with a satisfying "BANG!"

Leo was lounging in his executive chair, feet propped up on his mahogany desk, sipping tea like he owned the place. The surprise on his face was momentary before he masked it with that smug expression I’d grown to despise.

"Well, well," he drawled, setting down his cup. "If it isn’t our former employee. What wind blew you back here, sweetheart? Missing your old desk already?"

His condescending tone made my wolf bristle, but I kept her controlled. This wasn’t about primal dominance—this was about calculated revenge.

I walked directly to his desk, maintaining eye contact the entire time, and slammed down a thick folder of documents and a small recording device.

"Leo." My voice was ice cold, my gaze sharp as a blade. "I believe these items might interest you. Enough to ruin you completely."

He tried to appear nonchalant as he flipped through the pages, but I caught the exact moment when the blood drained from his face. The embezzlement records, the sexual harassment recordings—each page he turned made him paler than the last.

"Sylvia," he attempted a casual laugh, but it came out strained. "What is this supposed to be? Some kind of joke?"

"A joke?" I let out a cold laugh. "Does it look like I’m joking? Every dirty little scheme you’ve been running, every inappropriate comment you’ve made—I have it all documented, Leo. Every. Single. Thing."

His façade crumbled as he shot to his feet, jabbing a finger in my direction. "You! You little bitch! Do you have any idea what you’re doing? You’re playing with fire!"

"Playing with fire?" I stood my ground, unflinching when he tried to intimidate me with his height. "I think we both know who’s been playing with fire here, Leo."

He was shouting now, desperation creeping into his voice. "You think these little scraps of paper can take me down? Dream on! I’m protected by Ms. Frost herself! Touch me, and you’re touching her!"

I couldn’t help but smirk at his pathetic attempt to shield himself with Selene’s name. "Selene? You’re giving her too much credit. She can barely protect herself these days, let alone cover for your crimes."

Seeing that his bluff with Selene’s name had failed, Leo’s composure completely disintegrated.

"You’re nothing but a college graduate with delusions of grandeur!" he spat, his finger inches from my face. "Even if you take this so-called evidence anywhere, who’s going to believe you over me? I’ll just say you fabricated everything out of spite!"

My eyes remained cold, my voice dangerously calm. "Try me."

I reached into my designer handbag and extracted another document, tossing it onto his desk with practiced precision.

"This is a letter from my attorney. You have three days to submit your resignation. Otherwise, we’ll see each other in court where I’ll make sure everyone knows exactly what kind of man you are."

Leo stared at the legal document, his face cycling through shades of red and white. He clearly hadn’t expected me to come prepared with legal counsel.

Panic flashed in his eyes, but his pride wouldn’t let him concede so easily. "You... you’re just trying to scare me! I’m not going to—"

"Scare you?" I interrupted, a cold smile playing on my lips. "Leo, you’re mistaken if you think forcing your resignation is all I want."

I leaned closer, my voice dropping to a menacing whisper that only another wolf would fully comprehend—the voice of an Alpha addressing a subordinate who had crossed a line.

"Everything you’ve done will come back to haunt you. And your little side business of leaking Frostline’s confidential information to competitors? Did you really think I wouldn’t notice? I’m not someone you want as an enemy, Leo." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

The fear in his eyes was palpable now. As he looked into my unwavering gaze, I could see the realization dawning on him—he had severely underestimated me, and it was going to cost him dearly.
