Chapter 83: Chapter 83: He’s first Raid

Zach did as Solomon instructed, and the System began narrating the criteria he would have to pass to attain each tier.

This was basically the tier limit criteria.

The System began.

Tier 1 Limit.

Gain one hundred thousand reward points.

"Easy enough," Solomon noted.

Zach just took his word for it. After all, he hadn’t been on a proper raid where he could actually go all out. Not only that, but the few he had even been on were only C-rank, so he’d never had a proper chance to test his skills against monsters.

Tier 2 Limit.

Clear an S-rank rift solo.

"Wow. Wow. That’s quite harsh," Zach noted.

This he knew of.

He didn’t quite know what he would have to do to get that many reward points required for the first tier, but he knew the limits of the second tier.

There had been only three mages in history to ever do it.

Merlin, Vlad, and a mage known as Gadmoda.

Solomon himself hadn’t even performed such a feat. It’s not that he couldn’t; he just hadn’t.

This obviously didn’t confirm that he could.

Tier 3 Limit.

Locate the Staff of Old Merlin.

"Old Merlin?" Zach questioned. "What does that even mean? Why call Merlin old?" Zach asked.

"Never mind that," Solomon responded.

"The staff in question was swallowed by a rift years ago, so I’m guessing you’ll have to journey from rift to rift to obtain it."

Tier 4 Limit.

Kill or neutralize one of the SS-ranks in a fair fight.

"What?"

Zach was shocked.

"SS? Just two S’s? I thought there were usually three."

"So there are more exceptional mages out there."

"How have I not heard of it?" freeweɓnovel.cøm

Zach brushed off his suspicions. He knew he didn’t know much of the world of mages. He stopped thinking too deeply about it.

’There exists more than one SS-rank mage. The phrasing makes that very clear.’

These were all the tier limits.

"I’ve exhausted the authorized list."

"Further information can be relayed much later," the System notified.

"That was... that was a lot," Zach stammered.

"Okay, so where do we start?" he said.

He was now ready to go in deep.

"Well, you need those reward points if you’re going anywhere, so let’s..." Solomon said and snapped.

"...let’s go fight some monsters."

They had teleported out of the pocket dimension.

They were now back on Earth.

Above the skies.

"I’ll be leaving for a while. I’m sure you can handle this. It’s only B-rank."

Solomon pointed at the rift.

"I’ll be back in a couple of hours. If it takes you less, you can just call out my name. I’ll be there."

"Though I seriously doubt you’ll end things that quickly."

Solomon snapped, and he teleported away.

Zach was left alone to handle the monsters. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

B-rank monsters unlike anything he had faced before.

Solomon was being summoned by Merlin.

It was then that Merlin revealed Zach’s role in the grand scheme.

Zach was nearing the point where he would serve his purpose.

Everything was going according to the will.

Everything was governed by fate.

-

Zach attacked with light mana beams.

They weren’t the supercharged attacks they were used to.

No, he wasn’t Roe.

He didn’t have those kinds of reserves.

He would have to play things safe. If not, it could be over when his mana ran out.

He didn’t have insane stats after all.

"Mass Talent," Zach chanted.

The talents weren’t numbered.

The newly created ones were not bound by the number system that Merlin introduced, as they were not a construct of his outlined form of magic.

After Zach cast the talent, he charged a beam following the chant.

This little beam went straight through the monster.

Monsters were being burned and blown apart left and right.

Zach didn’t really understand what changed.

He just knew he loved it.

"Ha ha... he he ha..."

He laughed in such a strange manner.

This was his first proper raid.

He hadn’t gotten the chance to realize how much he would actually love slaying monsters, and now, after being given the chance, he came to realize there was nothing more in this world he’d love more than popping monsters.

In less than ten minutes, the monsters were all gone.

He was bruised in only one place.

His hands from constantly firing those attacks.

The reason he was able to take them out that easily was simple.

The Mass Talent reduced the overall weight and mass of all the monsters while affecting their durability.

They were essentially paper before Zach.

"Solomon," he called out.

Solomon immediately appeared, saying,

"Do you need my hel-"

He was shocked.

Faced with a sight he didn’t expect.

Solomon was shocked.

There was not a monster in sight.

Solomon took him to another rift this , this time he didn’t leave he’s side.

He had just been informed by Merlin the fate that awaited him. Solomon would do as Merlin instructed.

He believed ultimately in the will of he’s master .

He stayed back to see just how Zach managed to take on all those monsters. He originally thought it might have been some kind of fluke. It wasn’t. Zach really just was getting used to it .

Solomon also noticed the wilder side to Zach immediately Zach started firing he’s mana beams after he had taken away the monsters durability using he’s mass talent earlier.

"All done. "

Zach cleaned he’s hand." Are there any more."

Solomon originally wanted to send him over to an A rank rift but he withheld the thought after all Zach himself hadn’t noticed but he was actually almost out of mana. The only reason he could still stand was because he was high on the joy only monster killing could give him.

He would soon realize this was sustainable.

He collapsed. Solomon reached out and teleported him back to the pocket dimension.

Solomon would have him continue he’s training there. Merlin had made he’s date of death known to Solomon. There was no point in having him waste the next few hours in the real world.

In the pocket universe he would have more time.

In the pocket universe, Solomon Would have more time to....
