Chapter 5: Chapter 05: At the Heaven’s Hall (1)

The Celestial stood before the doors of Heaven’s Hall. Pushing open the majestic crystal doors, the Hall shone with all its beauty. Vast and ethereal, it had crystal floors that reflected the clusters of galaxies below. The lights from these galaxies, greatly illuminated the vast Hall. At the heart of the Hall sat the Throne of Creation.

"Oh, the others are here already. Seems I’m late."

Glancing up, he saw the Goddess Aurora seated. Her form was ever so breathtaking and exuded an aura of infinite wisdom and timeless grace.

As usual, her face was veiled with a shimmering veil that flowed down from her head, made of delicate, glowing threads of pure divine light, shifting with the colors of the cosmos, both bright and dark.

She wore simple yet regal clothing that emitted a subtle glow.

"My goddess. Perfect as always," he thought, with a bit of sadness, a smile subtly breaking out on his face.

In this seemingly boundless expanse of Heaven’s Hall, seven figures now stood up on a platform of divine energy. Each figure radiated an overwhelming presence. The Seven Sovereigns of Heaven, embodiments of impossible powers and godlike strengths.

At the center of the seven- man formation, Aetherion The Will of Heaven stood tall, a pillar of blinding golden light. To his right, Seraphiel, The Divine Flame, pulsed with sacred flames, his six wings folded behind him. Beside him stood Zephyr, The Lord of Tempests, crackling with raw fury and rage filled his eyes.

To Aetherion’s left, Elyndra The Holy Watcher, observed in silence, her endless gaze seeming to peer through the very fabrics of Space-Time. Vaelthiela, The Lady of Grief, stood beside her, eyes shadowed with uncertainty. Orion, Lord of the Raging Sun remained still, a subtle glow enveloped his body.

And there stood Mikael, the Sovereign of Abysmal Void. A quieter presence, a colder power that threatens to consume everything.

" Kneel before the Goddess, Aurora!" Aetherion’s voice boomed with the weight of absolute authority. They all fell on one knee, except.....

" My children," she spoke, her voice was neither soft nor loud yet it carried unmistakable power. Her smile was equally refreshing, though the veil shielded what they believed to be the paragon of beauty.

" The heavens stand on the brink of change." Aurora looked up on each of them. ’ What marvelous beauties,’ she thought. ’ My children’. Her gaze lingered ever so briefly on Mikael. There was something unspoken in that moment - something only they understood. A flicker of sadness that vanished as soon as it appeared.

"You refuse to kneel, Mikael?"

Aetherion’s expression darkened. "Kneel, Mikael," he said, his voice a sharp command.

Mikael smiled. "I am afraid I’m not interested."Why have you called us here, Goddess? Surely one knee not on the ground won’t diminish your powers, will it?"

Aurora smiled. ’He’s preparing to attack at the slightest provocation. So this is the path you choose, Mikael. Truly pitiful’

The air grew heavy. Zephyr’s storms rumbled, Scorpiel’s flames flickered dangerously, and Orion clenched his hand. Vaelthiela just looked away. The others didn’t seem to care.

The Goddess simply watched him, her expression unreadable. Sighing, she looked away. "That is so. Let’s go on. Mikael, why did you send your forces to the Mortal Plane?"

"I was, say, rather bored with the rule of non-interference with mortals. With all due respect, Goddess." He gave a slight bow.

’Such a flimsy excuse.....’, thought the others in the room.

"You’ve broken the Laws of the Heavens, Mikael," the Goddess spoke, her voice devoid of emotion yet filled with commanding authority, almost like she was playing along with the lie.

"The balance between the Celestials and mortals must not be disturbed so recklessly and on a whim. Rules, laws all exist for a purpose. What do you have to say for yourself, Sovereign of Voids?"

Mikael’s eyes were uninterested yet calculating. He didn’t flinch nor show any sign of agitation. His rather calm gaze seemed to say, ’Everything was going according to plan.’

"Mikael!" Seraphiel’s voice boomed like thunder. "Kneel and stop this insolence!"

Mikael laughed. Low at first, then a barely audible chuckle. Then it grew so softly. Then he stopped and glared hard at Seraphiel.

"Mind your tone with me, Seraphiel. Lest I tear your head from your neck and give it to those mortals you protect, as a relic".

Seraphiel recoiled a bit. Mikael’s aura was cold and devouring. He had never seen such a side to him, ever since he had been born. But he felt enough to know that Mikael was truly serious and quite able to carry out his threat. It was one of the reasons he agreed to the plan to cut him down.

"Enough." The Goddess finally spoke. She turned to the erring Sovereign. "It is quite disappointing that a being at a level such as yourself will bring yourself so low." She sighed. " What is it then that you desire, Mikael?"

Mikael sighed. "If I said I desired your essence, would you give it to me, my dear goddess?" He smiled. A nerve well struck. Probably.

Aetherion finally flared, his face contorting with pure rage.

"You dare?" His voice now thundered with the authority of the heavens as he went on to stand before Mikael.

A chuckle

"Who knows? Maybe I do! Come forth, Guardian of The Void, Ragnarok."

The black scythe with almost visible veins, pulsating with ancient dark energy began to materialize before him.

"I might even go ahead to become a God myself. I might decide to reign supreme. Apparently some things I’ve seen seem to suggest so... or should I leak a little secret? Something about a forgotten era, perhaps."

He glanced at the Goddess.

"Watch your words, Mikael." Orion stepped forward, his hands glowing. " You dare not threaten the Goddess before Her Celestials."

Mikael groaned. "Or what, Orion? You’ll burn me?"

He let a little of his power slip free—a dark, chilling force that spread like a door of unnatural silence, snuffing out even Seraphiel’s roaring flames.

One thought filled the room. ’ He had grown. Likewise his powers.’

The Holy Watcher finally spoke. "Boy, you’re playing a very dangerous game. This will only lead to your end."

"So be it, Elyndra," Mikael responded, turning his gaze towards the Goddess. " I quit being your Sovereign, and I challenge you. Are you up for the challenge, Goddess?"

’ I do wonder what other objects he must have found in the Old Kingdom that bolstered his confidence. Was it the scythe? Ever since he pulled out, I have been feeling quite unsettled,’ The Goddess mused. ’ Then again, that place was forbidden for a reason.’

Mikael picked up a slight twitch in the flow of her powers. She was affected by his actions. Just a little more push and everything will be over.

Zephyr’s storms rumbled as he went to stand before the stubborn Sovereign, Seraphiel and Vaelthiela followed.

" Stand down, Sovereign of Voids!"
