Chapter 132: Chapter 106: You’re Threatening Me

’Now that we’re Allies, it would be best if something like losing a life for no reason didn’t happen. I have no desire to become a laughingstock.’

"Mengmeng, hurry over here," Meng Ni called out anxiously, sighing in relief upon seeing her sister was safe and sound.

"Sister, what are you doing here?" the Little Cat Girl asked in surprise.

Li Ziyu turned his head to look at the Little Cat Girl, then at the young Cat Girl before him who had kidnapped the child. With a click of his tongue, several Skeleton Longbowmen instantly nocked their arrows. "Release him, or die."

His foul mood from being woken up had finally erupted. He couldn’t be bothered to play any more negotiating games with Meng Ni.

The Little Cat Girl panicked at the sight. She ran past Li Ziyu and spread her arms to shield her sister. "Don’t hurt my sister! I don’t want the meat anymore! I’ll give you the intel, just let us go!"

CLAP, CLAP, CLAP.

Li Ziyu clapped, the smile on his face slowly turning sinister. "Bravo. What a touching display of sisterly affection. Have you decided you’re going to threaten me now? Little Cat Girl, do you feel that I, the Master of the Undead, am too kind? That you can just come and go as you please? Do whatever you want?"

Behind them, Zhang Peng’s expression changed. He could feel a frenzied killing intent. Yes, that’s what it was—killing intent!

A frenzied, chaotic killing intent continuously poured from Li Ziyu, spreading outwards and inciting the Undead into greater agitation. Their jaws snapped open and shut, producing a chorus of CLACKS.

’Ugh, what a pain.’

’I don’t want to get involved, but I have no choice.’

’We signed a contract. He’s my boss. I don’t want a maniac who kills indiscriminately to be my boss. I have to try and stop him.’

After interacting with him for a few days, Zhang Peng had a general understanding of Li Ziyu’s personality. He was usually quite calm. Today, however, he probably hadn’t slept well and had been woken up abruptly, so his foul mood was particularly bad. If he killed the Cat Girl now, he might regret it later. Or worse, it could flip some unpredictable, brutal switch inside him.

That wouldn’t be good for anyone.

’This is dangerous.’ With an inward sigh, Zhang Peng came to Li Ziyu’s side and said in a low voice, "Boss, easy now. Everything can be negotiated. We have a great enemy to worry about."

It was hard to say which of Zhang Peng’s words had gotten through to Li Ziyu, but his eyes cleared a bit, and his frenzied aura began to stabilize.

After taking two deep breaths, Li Ziyu calmed down again. He, too, realized that his reaction had been off.

’I was too angry. Even with my foul mood from being woken up, it shouldn’t have gotten this bad!’

He squeezed his eyes shut, then gave Zhang Peng a grateful look. "You handle things out here. I’ll be waiting inside."

After one last glance at the two Catwoman Sisters, Li Ziyu turned and walked toward the main building.

Zhang Peng let out a breath of relief. His gamble had paid off.

Once Li Ziyu was gone, he turned to the two Catwomen. "Alright, you can relax now. First, let the child go. Stop using him as a hostage. It’s useless. If the City Lord doesn’t want you to leave, taking hostages won’t do you any good. With all these Undead, do you really think you can escape? Be smart about this."

The Little Cat Girl glanced at the surrounding Undead, then turned to her sister. "Sister, listen to him. Let the child go."

In truth, Meng Ni had felt it too. Just a moment ago, the Undead had been about to kill them. If not for the pleas of the Human now speaking to them, she and her sister would already be corpses.

A Minotaur was just a Minotaur. The Undead wouldn’t care about a Minotaur child. They only cared about the words of the Master of the Undead.

Her arm dropped listlessly. Meng Ni released her hold on the child. Once free, the little Minotaur ran crying to his parents. They embraced him and checked him over. Seeing he was uninjured, they finally relaxed... and then proceeded to give him a sound beating, the kind delivered tag-team style by both mother and father.

’You little brat! You wouldn’t listen, and now look at the trouble you’ve caused! You even brought the Lord City Lord out here! Just look at how tense everything is!’

With the child safe, the tense atmosphere eased considerably. Zhang Peng, not sure if it would work, rubbed his hands together and suggested, "How about we all... disperse?"

The Minotaurs nodded and began to scatter. After a moment’s hesitation, the Undead also dispersed, melting back among the buildings. A smile spread across Zhang Peng’s face.

He looked at the Catwoman Sisters again and said gently, "Come on. Let’s go inside and see the City Lord."
