Chapter 129: Chapter 105: Return to the Forbidden Land (Part 3)

"No! I need to see the Master of the Undead. I have to give him the information, not you." Mengmeng clamped her mouth shut and puffed out her cheeks, the very picture of non-cooperation.

Zhang Peng stood and loomed over the Little Cat Girl, trying to intimidate her. His expression was grave as he asked, "Are you certain your information is that useful? That important? That it absolutely must be brought to the Master of the Undead? If it’s useless, your fate won’t be a pleasant one. You’ll be skinned alive, and your bones will be turned into one of the Undead."

"Whoa, whoa, the Boss isn’t that brutal, is he?" Liu Xingxing winced, sidling up to Zhang Peng to whisper.

Zhang Peng shot him a look and muttered irritably, "Brains are a terrible thing to waste. The Boss is sleeping. If we wake him for no good reason, are *you* going to be the one to face his temper?"

"Heh... heh heh. On second thought, never mind." Liu Xingxing caught on, giving a dry laugh and waving his hands dismissively.

Mengmeng’s face paled at Zhang Peng’s words. She grit her teeth, clenching her small fists. "I have to see the Master of the Undead! If we’re delayed, things will get serious!"

"Wake the Boss." Zhang Peng, who had just been talking about the Boss’s foul temper when woken, saw her clenched fists and determined gaze, and spoke to Liu Xingxing without a shred of hesitation.

Liu Xingxing froze, then squawked, "Why me? I’m not the one who wants to deal with the Boss’s wrath!"

"Just do what I say. Wake the Boss!" Zhang Peng’s eyes grew sharp as he commanded in a low growl.

Say what you will, Zhang Peng’s glare was deadly effective. Liu Xingxing, at least, felt he couldn’t resist it. He subconsciously opened his system interface and sent a message to Li Ziyu.

Only after sending the message did he realize something was wrong. "Damn it, you tricked me again!"

「Below the Bone Plate Platform, inside the Castle Main Tower of the Undead Fortress.」

In the Darkness, Li Ziyu was sleeping soundly when the system’s emergency alert blared in his mind. His eyes snapped open, and he shot up into a sitting position.

As he sat up, pinpoints of Soul Fire on the main tower’s walls flared to life, growing brighter and stronger like ignited torches. It was the Undead, sensing a change in their City Lord and reawakening.

A system panel popped up. On it, a red banner with the word "EMERGENCY" flashed nonstop.

He reached out and tapped it, bringing up a message from Liu Xingxing.

Treasure Hunting Star: Boss, that Little Catman is back. Says they have intel for you.

Hmm?

Intel?

A Little Catman?

’What in the world is he talking about?’

He had woken up too quickly for his brain to catch up. Li Ziyu shook his head, and only then did he process what Liu Xingxing’s message meant.

’The Little Cat Girl from before is back, and she brought information... Interesting.’

’Zhang Peng and Tas Tuling are out there too, not just Liu Xingxing. It must be important, or they wouldn’t have escalated it to me.’

"Exit Hibernation Mode! Raise the structures!" Li Ziyu stood, stretched, and forced himself to full alertness as he gave the command aloud.

The Bone Plate Platform trembled. White bones shifted and pieced themselves together as, one after another, massive structures of Skeleton Architecture rose from beneath the ground.

The scene was so overwhelming that Mengmeng, a Catman who had never witnessed such a thing, was completely dumbstruck. She could only stare, dumbfounded, at the buildings emerging from the ground.

’No wonder I didn’t see any of the bone buildings when I arrived. So that’s how it is.’

’If I hadn’t seen the Minotaur, I would have thought I’d come to the wrong place. It was just a bare, empty platform.’

The Skeleton Architecture made the once-spacious Bone Plate Platform feel somewhat crowded.

"Come on. You wanted to see the Master of the Undead, didn’t you? We’ll take you." Zhang Peng patted Mengmeng, snapping her out of her astonishment, and led her toward the Castle Main Tower of the Undead Fortress.

Seeing this, Liu Xingxing hurried to follow. ’Life is so boring,’ he thought. ’There’s drama, there’s a show—how could I miss it?’

Mumu and Tas Tuling exchanged a look and followed as well.
