Chapter 58: 58-Planning Her Departure

Gigi:

"Are you okay? What do you mean by that?"

My mother tried to approach me, but I raised a hand, signaling for her to stop.

However, she didn’t. She still came over and sat across from me on the couch.

"Do you think I’m this crazy?" I asked, watching her narrow her eyes.

Well, I had kind of proven to her that I was crazy. And maybe I had taken the wrong approach. I just didn’t know what the right approach was.

What did I need to say to her that would make her suggest the idea herself?

"Did something happen that I’m unaware of?" my mother asked.

I took a deep breath and looked away from her.

How was I supposed to tell her that, yes, a lot had happened between my legs?

"Mother, I just want you to stop lecturing me every time. I know what I’m doing. And trust me, I’m not doing it because I’m some thirsty bitch," I uttered, still not knowing exactly what my plan was.

"Then tell me, did the brothers do something to you?"

The moment my mother said that, I snapped my head up and looked at her.

I saw fear in her eyes.

"Did Theodore or Jaguar..."

She trailed off, and I immediately shook my head.

"Mom, no. I don’t want to talk about it," I said, wondering what she was insinuating.

At the same time, I was confused.

What did she mean by that?

Was she seriously suggesting...?

I gulped at the thought.

"Anyway, I think the right thing would be for you to keep your distance from them. You’re dating their brother. I think it would be inappropriate for you to always be around them. Let them do their thing."

My mother started lecturing me again, even after I had told her not to.

"Mom, please," I groaned tiredly.

"But I’m just telling you what needs to be said. Besides, it seems like Theodore has someone in his life."

As my mother continued speaking, I realized they didn’t even know who he had been carrying.

"Well, that’s funny," I said with a smile. "Do you know who that is that he was carrying in his arms?"

I watched my mother frown at me.

"It was Verity. Mother, he was carrying my abusive ex-boyfriend’s sister."

I spoke with all the emotion I could gather. The past had been very difficult for me to relive.

I had made some difficult decisions, some wrong and some right, but one thing was certain.

Justin was a bastard.

"Verity? Why is she back in our lives?"

My mother’s harsh tone said it all. She didn’t like Verity. Nobody did.

In fact, my mother had always been very concerned about her presence, and there was only one reason for that.

"Does Holland know?" my mother asked.

A sudden realization hit me.

Why hadn’t I thought about it?

Why had Holland completely slipped my mind?

I mean, he had only gone away for six months to enjoy his vacation. How had I completely forgotten about him?

And he could be very useful for what I wanted to do.

I stared at my mother but said nothing.

"Look, I know you’re hurting, and I can only imagine how you must be feeling, watching his sister come back into your life. But I suggest you focus on yourself right now. Forget about them. These people will come and go. Don’t let them affect your life," my mother commented.

I was half listening, half not.

To be honest, I didn’t need my mother’s words to know what I wanted to do. I was already planning a few things. If she wasn’t going to help me, somebody else would.

Or I would just do it myself.

Then my mother leaned forward a little more so she could reach my hand and gently touched it.

"Try not to tell Holland about her," my mother said, and my head snapped up.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. "Do you think Holland would...?"

I trailed off, and my mother looked down.

I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it, but she seemed different than before. Even then, she knew Holland. There were subtle meanings hidden behind her words.

I gave my mother a small nod.

"He’ll do something that will land him in trouble, and I don’t want him committing a crime."

The moment my mother said that, my ears perked up. fгeewebnovёl.com

Why hadn’t I thought about that before?

"Of course," I replied, keeping a straight face as I lied.

"Anyway, I’ll just hope and pray that witch goes away so my daughter can heal."

My mother gently touched my cheek.

But when she said the word heal, I felt as if she were implying something. As if there was something wrong with me for suggesting I wanted to be with three.

In that moment, all I could think about was doing exactly what my mother had asked me not to do.

So, once she walked away, I picked up my phone and dialed none other than Holland’s number.

"Hello? Important people are calling me. I must be special," Holland responded in his usual annoying voice.

"I have news for you," I told him.

I could hear wind in the background. He was probably on a beach, but I didn’t care. He was out there living his best life while I needed him.

"What is it?" he asked excitedly.

"Guess who’s working in my office right beside Ragnar?"

I paused.

When he didn’t respond, I answered the question myself.

"Verity Swan."

The moment I said her name, I heard him grunt.

"Brother, it’s time to cut your vacation short. You’d be surprised to see how much she’s changed."

I knew exactly how to make my brother interested in a woman like her.

"I’m intrigued," Holland responded.

His tone had shifted. He was no longer making jokes.

"I’m coming home. And I’m coming back sooner than I planned," he added bitterly.

As soon as he hung up, I smirked.

I could just leave her in his hands.

My brother would deal with her.

And he would deal with her so well that nobody would ever hear from her again.
