Chapter 57: 57-She Is Stealing My Men

Gigi:

My mother had completely avoided me.

She did not want to talk about it again.

I mean, she probably thought I was a lewd woman.

And why not? My mother had been with one man her entire life. Father was enough for her.

But that was because Father did not have any siblings who were involved in any of his business.

Not to mention, only a special woman gets to have special bonds, not just one, but three.

That thought hit me hard.

Throughout my life, I had believed I was important.

Then why the heck wasn’t I someone who could be mated to three Alpha Kings?

"Well, that’s because we are not moon goddesses, so stop it," my wolf complained, making me roll my eyes hard at her.

"Why aren’t you eating?" my father asked, pointing at the popcorn he had made for me earlier.

He had decided to cheer me up, so he sat with me on the couch to watch TV while he prepared popcorn.

I liked caramel popcorn, so I had both caramel and buttered popcorn beside me.

"No, I’m just tired," I replied, wondering how the hell I was going to get Ragnar to scold Theodore without making Theodore feel like I had done him dirty.

"If there’s anything going on in your mind, you know you can share it with me," my father said, and I nodded.

Then he took a deep breath and changed the channel.

"Hey, I was watching that," I complained playfully.

But when I turned toward him, I found him staring at me.

"What was your mother yelling at you about?"

The question alone made me look away. There was no way I could tell my father all that.

Just then, something appeared on the TV, and I felt as if my heart had stopped beating.

"Isn’t that Theodore?" I asked my father. "Turn up the volume."

The news channel was showing a video recorded earlier in the rain.

Theodore had a woman in his arms. He was carrying her desperately, rushing her somewhere.

"It says that Alpha King Theodore saved a woman and got her to the hospital before it was too late," my father read from the headline before nodding. "Seems like he’s turning into a good kid. Who would’ve thought Theodore would—"

My father immediately fell silent and turned to look at me when he found out I was grunting.

Anger was making me lose my head.

"That’s good news, right? Do you know that woman?" my father asked, and my fists clenched even tighter.

Of course, I did.

Not from her face, because it wasn’t visible, but I knew who had shown up at the office wearing that exact fit.

That fucking bitch.

At this point, I had no clue what she was up to, but this definitely couldn’t be right.

There was absolutely no way she was accidentally being seen with, or getting close to, both Alpha King brothers without something going on.

The other day, Rochelle told me that Jaguar had accidentally said her name.

Then today, there was Theodore.

I was fuming with anger as I sat there when my mother walked out.

I grabbed the remote, turned off the TV, and got up to head back to my side of the house.

I had separated it because I didn’t want my parents intervening in my personal matters.

My mother was a self-righteous fool, but my father loved me a lot.

I knew that whatever I asked of him, he would get done.

Right now, though, I just needed to be alone.

As soon as I reached my room, I got a call from Jaguar.

Of course he called me.

He might have made one mistake, but he knew how affected I would be if Theodore didn’t show up at my house, which he hadn’t.

The news spoke for itself.

There were even reports saying that Alpha King Theodore had stayed in the patient’s hospital room.

"Hello?" I answered, trying to sound normal.

"Are you okay?" Jaguar asked, and I sucked in a deep breath, my face tightening.

"No," I mumbled. "I just saw the news."

Once I was on my side of the house, I ripped off my earrings and threw them across the room before dropping onto the couch in the living room.

"Yeah, I was going to talk about that. Theodore didn’t come to your place last night?" he asked.

My fist tightened once again. Crescent-shaped marks appeared on my palm where my nails dug into my skin.

"No, he didn’t," I replied. "But that’s okay. I guess he was busy," I mumbled, trying to keep calm.

"Just curious, did he let you know that he wouldn’t be coming over?" Jaguar continued, trying to learn more.

"No, he just ditched me, but I guess it’s okay." I sighed.

The moment I did, I remembered something.

Jaguar. freeweɓnøvel.com

Why would Jaguar have Verity’s name in his mouth?

At this point, I just wanted to know.

That was when I looked up and saw my mother standing in the doorway.

She must have come to speak with me. But when she saw me talking to Jaguar, she paused.

"Jaguar, can you give me a minute?" I excused myself softly, not wanting to be rude to him.

I mean, I would never.

"Yeah, okay. I’ll call you back in a minute," he replied before ending the call.

I straightened my back and looked at my mother.

"If you’ve come here to give me another lecture, please don’t," I said sternly, placing my hands on the edge of the sofa and curling my fists into the soft fabric.

"Gigi, whatever you said to me, don’t ever say that to anybody again."

My mother’s voice was soft, yet commanding.

I watched a completely different emotion appear in her eyes.

She wasn’t even angry. She was worried for me.

I stared back at her in silence before speaking.

"What if the Alpha King brothers are the ones who say it?"

The moment the words left my mouth, I watched her swallow hard.
