Chapter 65: The visitor
One month flew by.
Two months.
I finished my exams in the third month.
In the first week of the fourth month, I had a visitor.
I was lying on my bed reading a comic when I heard a knock.
"Samantha?" I called, glancing toward the door.
"Is that you, Samantha?" I asked again.
"No, miss, you have a visitor," a female voice responded. I guessed it was one of the maids.
"A visitor?"
"Yes, Ms."
"Okay, I’m coming." I dropped the book on the bed and walked to the door. The only visitor I was expecting today was Ruby, and I can’t really count Ruby as a visitor. This was actually surprising.
When I got to the door, I turned the doorknob and opened it.
"The visitor is waiting in the waiting room."
"Alright, I’ll be down in a minute."
"Yes," she replied, turning to leave, but I stopped her.
"Wait!"
"Yes, Ms.?"
"Is the visitor a female or a male?"
"A female."
"How old is she? Can you guess?"
"I... I can’t guess," she shrugged.
"Okay, offer her some snacks before I get there."
"Alright," she said before leaving. I returned to my room, changed my outfit, and went downstairs. I went straight to the meeting room and saw her facing the other side of the room. She was standing with her hands folded behind her.
She hadn’t touched her biscuits and juice. She had the posture of Willa, but I knew it wasn’t her.
"Uh," I cleared my throat to get her attention.
She turned and quickly bowed. "Good day, Ms. I’m Indigo. I’m here to be your personal instructor," she introduced herself.
"Indigo?" I repeated, liking the sound of her name. "You’re here to be my... Wait, you’re what?"
"I’m here to be your instructor; I’ll be training you on—"
"Wait... Hold on a second." I face-palmed and looked away. I couldn’t believe this. They sent a trainer; I thought everyone had forgotten about this. I thought it was a thing of the past. Oh, damn.
"Do you... have a problem, Ms.? Are you okay?" She approached me.
"Oh, yes, I’m fine." I turned my attention back to her and forced a smile.
"Please complete your statement; you were saying something."
"Yes, I’m here to train you on how to use guns," she finished.
"Guns? Not to build my strength and muscle?"
"No, Ms., I was asked to train you on how to use guns. I’ll train you on how to use up to five to ten different types."
"Oh," I said. I didn’t know how to feel about this, but I thought this training wouldn’t be as painful as the other one. All I needed to do was stand at a specific location and fire a gun, right?
Alright, that’s great. "Let’s do it." I extended my hand for a handshake, and she reluctantly shook it.
"Uh, I’m here to draw up a schedule with you; I learned you are on holiday."
"Yes, I finished my exams last month, and I’m currently resting."
"Okay, tell me the days you’re free. Let’s do this twice a week."
"Twice?"
"Not once?"
"Yes. Twice. Two hours a day. Four hours a week."
"Okay, sounds good to me." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"Which days?" freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"Wednesdays and Fridays. I think I’ll prefer those days."
"What time?"
"What time are you available?"
"No, I’ll do it your way, miss; let’s set a time that’s more convenient for you."
"Okay, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesdays, and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Fridays," I said.
"Great. Since today is Tuesday, we’ll begin our training tomorrow," she said.
"Tomorrow? Not next week?"
"No, tomorrow. We have to start this week."
"Alright then, until tomorrow."
"Okay," she said, turning to leave. I followed her. "You didn’t touch your snacks."
"Oh no, I’m not in the mood."
"I asked the maids to serve you; the biscuits are very nice."
"I’ll have them another day."
"Where will we hold this training, though?"
"There’s a private firing range available."
"Here?"
"Yes."
How come I’ve never heard of it or seen it?
"Alright."
"I have another question."
"Yes," she stopped and looked at me.
"Who sent you? Which of the brothers sent you here?"
"Two."
"Two?"
"Names?"
"Alpha Bryce and Alpha Gavin."
"The two of them? Oh, I see. Anyway, my name is Amera. You can call me by my name; I’ll call you Indigo."
"Yes, Ms."
"You can call me by my name," I corrected her.
"Alright, I’ll do that at our next meeting."
"Okay, bye." I stood at the entrance and watched her leave. She spoke to the guards before walking out.
After she left, I turned to go inside but stopped when I heard my name.
"What are you doing? You’re not even dressed." Ruby rushed in with her handbag; she was dressed up. "Get dressed; let’s go."
"There’s still time."
"Shopping takes time; we might miss the best products on sale if we go late."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
"Get dressed." I went up to my room and changed into a simple outfit.
"You can’t wear a simple outfit." Ruby walked into my room and frowned at my clothes.
"Don’t you know you’ll be addressed the way you dress? You have to dress like a millionaire so you can be seen and addressed as one. Your outfit is too simple. I’ll choose one for you."
She rushed into my closet and selected a two-piece set.
"This one, change into it." She dropped the dress on the bed and rushed back into the closet. She returned with a sunshade and laid it beside the dress. She went back into the closet and came out with two different six-inch heels, one black and one white.
"You’ll have to choose between the two. They’re pretty, and I think they’ll go well with the dress."
She rushed into the closet again and returned a second later. "Why aren’t you getting dressed?" she asked, but I just stared at her, speechless.
"Get dressed." She went back into the closet and returned with a small chain bag.
"What am I forgetting? Oh, jewelry—you need one." She rushed back in and returned with ’the gorgeous one’ necklace.
"This makes everything perfect." She clasped her hands and smiled sheepishly as she admired the dress and necklace.
"Are you... truly expecting me to wear all these for shopping?" I raised an eyebrow as I looked at her.
"This isn’t just any shopping, you know. It’s different. It’s a live sale event for high-class women twenty-five and under. It’s for the youth. You get to win a prize if you buy a lot. You could even win a car."
"I don’t need a car."
"Well, I need a car; you can give it to me instead." "Get dressed," she said, dragging me to the bed and starting to remove my clothes.
