Chapter 85: Veronica Dawncrest
’They didn’t let me down.’
They won three matches in a row, so Aria was satisfied with their performance.
The grin on David’s face grew bigger as the cheers and praise of the onlookers reached his ears.
’So, this is what it feels like to win a battle in an arena. What a nice feeling!’
He suddenly felt like he was a superstar.
"What are you standing there for?" Lily yelled. "The spar has ended. Go back here!"
David walked off the arena with a happy expression.
Once he sat down on his chair, he said with a beaming smile, "How is it? I’m amazing, right?"
Virelia and Elara giggled softly, while Lily looked at him like she was staring at a village bumpkin who suddenly thought he was a rising star.
Aria turned to Ryven and said, "Ryven, we’ve won three fights. I believe we don’t need to continue anymore."
They agreed to have five matches.
Now that they had won three, there was no point in continuing the fights.
Ryven gritted his teeth before finally jumping into the arena and treating Vito. Once Vito had regained consciousness, he called his other disciples and Alice.
’Damn it!’
They came to the Aether Organization to take back his disciples’ stuff and humiliate them in their place.
Never did he think he would fail in both plans.
"Let’s go back." Ryven no longer wanted to stay in their place, as it would only make him angrier.
But before he could leave, Aria said, "Stop!"
Ryven and the others halted.
"Do you think you can come and go as you please?" Aria would not let them go easily, not before taking something from them.
"Didn’t you receive an official letter from our first elder earlier?" Ryven tried his best to stay calm.
"Oh, this?" Aria immediately tore up the letter.
Ryven’s face instantly darkened. "What do you mean by that?"
"Do you think an official letter from him means anything to me?" Aria didn’t care who sent them.
"What do you want?" Ryven asked with a displeased expression.
"I’m feeling generous today, so I will let you go if you hand over your space ring." Aria wanted to give it to Ren.
Ryven was an instructor, so she believed he had many valuable items, including money.
"No!" Ryven refused right away.
"Then, you won’t leave here alive today." Aria would not take no for an answer.
Anger rose in Ryven like a tide. "Do you want to start a war?"
"Do you think I’m afraid?" Aria would give them one if they really wanted a war.
"Ryven, do you think your life is worth starting a war?" Cassandra believed their leader would do nothing, as there was nothing special in him.
Ryven gritted his teeth.
He hated to admit it, but she was right.
’What should I do?’
He didn’t want to die, but he also didn’t want to hand over his space ring.
He would become a beggar if he agreed.
"I will count to three. If you don’t answer, I will take it as you refusing." Aria began counting right away. "1...2..."
Just as she was about to say three, Ryven removed his space ring from his index finger and tossed it to her.
"Let’s leave." Ryven led them back to their organization with an angry face.
Aria’s lips curled up into a smile. "Let’s go to my office."
When they walked past the other members, praises poured down on Ren, Elara and David like flowing water.
They had defeated the representatives of the Nexus Organization, so the onlookers flattered them.
Once they were in her office, Aria sat down on her chair and handed him Ryven’s ring.
Ren was pleasantly surprised by her actions.
He previously thought she would immediately say something about their performance in the battle or warn them about Ryven, but he was wrong.
He was utterly wrong!
’She gave this to me?’
He almost could not suppress the happiness within him.
Ryven was an instructor, so he believed Ryven’s possessions were much better than Axel’s.
"As you already know, we don’t have any mages here. Use the money to buy some magic books or hire a lightning mage to tutor you." Actually, Aria wanted to support him fully, but her status prevented her from doing so. freēwēbnovel.com
"What about the fire spell books inside?" Ren’s element was lightning, so they were useless to him. "Should I sell it?"
"Up to you." Aria let him decide. "If you want to sell it, tell Cassandra. She will help you."
"Thank you, leader." Ren expressed his gratitude.
Shortly after that, Ren and the others headed to his private training ground.

"Instructor, are we really not going to take back our space rings?" Axel was still unwilling to lose it.
"Shut up!" Ryven yelled. "You would have gotten your stuff back if you hadn’t lost the match!"
Axel lowered his head and didn’t say anything anymore.
When Ryven caught sight of Elder Maldris, his expression changed slightly.
"Go to the library and study more magic. You will only embarrass me if you remain weak." After saying that, he approached Elder Maldris.
"Alice, Ren beat you in the battle. Don’t you want to seek revenge?" Axel tried to provoke her to cause trouble for Ren.
Alice shot him a cold glare. "Do it yourself if you want to pick a fight with him."
Even though she lost to Ren, there was not a shred of hatred or anger within her since he fought her fairly.
She would use her defeat to motivate herself to grow stronger so that she could win if they had another spar.
Axel clenched his fists when Alice left them.
’Damn it!’
He blamed everything on Lily as she was the one who defeated him.
On the other side, Ryven was talking with Elder Maldris. Elder Maldris was shocked after he learned everything.
But what surprised him most was that there was someone who had awakened both paths in the Aether Organization.
Ravenna said nothing after she returned, so he didn’t know anything about the test.
"Elder Maldris, I’ve also lost my space ring. I have nothing now. I hope you will help me." Ryven hoped Elder Maldris would keep his promise.
"Don’t worry. I will help you." Elder Maldris replied. "When the leader returns tomorrow, let’s meet her together."
"Alright." Ryven agreed immediately.

Aether Organization, Ren’s Private Training Ground.
"Wow! That instructor is quite rich!" David’s eyes shone brightly as he saw the items on the stone table.
The stuff in Ryven’s space ring was two Intermediate-rank fire spell books, four potions, and $10,000.
"Yeah! He even has a lot of money." Lily had never seen that much money in her life.
"It’s a pity these magic books aren’t lightning element," Virelia added. "Otherwise, it would be a jackpot."
"It’s still good. An Intermediate-rank spell book goes for like $15,000 to $30,000." Cassandra knew the price since she often checked things related to awakeners.
Ren turned to her in surprise. "$15,000 to $30,000?"
"Yes." Cassandra nodded. "You will get at least $30,000 if you sell them."
"Let’s sell them tomorrow." Ren almost could not suppress the happiness within him.
"Sure! I will take you to a good place tomorrow." Cassandra answered. "So, what are you going to do now?"
"I want to relax for today." David was not in the mood to practice.
"Me too." Lily felt the same. "We need to balance between training and rest, or else it won’t be good for our mind and body."
"Good words!" Virelia stated.
Elara didn’t say anything, but she nodded her head.
"I will study the Lightning Serpent magic." Ren wanted to master it quickly so that he would have another offensive spell.
"What a diligent young man!" Cassandra said. "Then, I will leave now. Go to my office if you need something."
"Alright." Virelia and the others answered in unison.
As Virelia and the others chatted happily, Ren read the spell book carefully.
Like usual, everything went smoothly like flowing water.
He knew what to do and could remember the formation quickly. When the sun was setting, he finally managed to master it.
At 06:30 pm, Virelia took them to a fancy restaurant for dinner.
Once they were in the VIP area, David and Lily exchanged a glance with sparkling eyes.
Not only did the restaurant have a beautiful night view, but there was also live music. The music wasn’t loud or intense, since its purpose was to create a relaxing mood.
While they were enjoying their meal, a gorgeous woman was speaking with Ravenna on a private jet.
The mature lady had long blue hair and emerald eyes. Her beautiful face and perfect body could steal any man’s heart in an instant.
She only needed to sit in a public place, and within seconds, all men in the surrounding area would approach her and try to win her heart.
The name of the beautiful lady was none other than Veronica Dawncrest, the leader of the Nexus Organization.
Veronica was currently reading information about Ren. Even though he had joined the Aether Organization, Ravenna still reported him to Veronica.
Ren was not an ordinary awakener, so Veronica needed to know him.
"He awakened both paths?" Veronica was startled as it had been a very long time since someone like him had appeared.
"Yes, leader," Ravenna replied politely. "He chose the Aether Organization because his lover was a shifter."
"So, he didn’t want to be separated from his girlfriend, huh?" Veronica’s curiosity suddenly grew bigger after she read his achievements in the test.
"Should we try recruiting him secretly, leader?" Ravenna asked.
