"How was her performance in the tournament?" Veronica asked.
"Impressive, leader." Ravenna answered, "She won first place without any difficulty."
"Without any trouble?" Veronica was a little surprised. "Is she that strong, or are the others just weak?"
"The others aren’t weak, Leader. She’s just on another level." Ravenna watched the tournament, so she knew how strong Alice was.
"I see." Veronica suddenly recalled Ren. "Yet someone like her still lost to Ren."
"Well, Ren is a monster, so it’s normal," Ravenna admitted that Alice was powerful, but Ren was on an entirely different level.
"Bring Alice here." Veronica wanted to give her an extra bonus for her talent and achievements.
"Understood, Leader." Ravenna immediately left Veronica’s office.

"I choose the second choice," Alice answered instantly.
Even though the first choice was so tempting, its value was nothing compared to studying under her.
Veronica’s lips curled up into a smile. "If you meet my standards during your time learning from me, I will take you as my disciple."
Both Ravenna and Alice were stunned.
When she came to her senses, Alice immediately replied, "I will do my best."
She would not waste this golden opportunity, as it was the fastest way to grow stronger.
Veronica liked her spirit. "You fought Ren in yesterday’s sparring, right? What do you think of him?"
"Monster." Alice had faced many people before, but none of them as strong as him.
She even could not defeat him when he was not serious. She assumed it would take at least three of her to win against him.
"Monster, huh?" Veronica didn’t expect her to answer like that. "Alright. You can leave now."
Alice bowed her head slightly before finally walking out of her office.
Once Alice left, Ravenna asked, "Leader, are you really going to take her as your disciple if she meets your standards?"
"Yes." Veronica didn’t give her false hope. "Someone as talented as her deserves a chance. Who knows? She might become the pillar of our organization in the future."
Ravenna didn’t say anything anymore.
"Ravenna, let’s go to th-" Veronica stopped her words halfway when her smartphone suddenly rang. "Oh! A call from Sylvie?"
She quickly picked up the phone.
"Hello, Veronica. How are you?" Sylvie said.
"I’m good," Veronica replied. "It’s been a while since you last called me. What’s wrong? Do you need any help?"
"Not me. One of my tenants is looking for a lightning mage to help him understand magic more deeply." Sylvie didn’t tell Veronica it was Ren. "Can you teach him? Don’t worry. He said he will pay you handsomely later."
"Sure." Veronica accepted instantly since it was a request from a friend.
"Good!" Sylvie smiled happily. "So, when can we meet?"
"How about at 04:00 pm?" Veronica was quite busy, so she could not meet Sylvie right away.
"Alright." Sylvie agreed. "How about we meet at my coffee shop?"
"Sure," Veronica replied.
Then, they talked about a few things.
Five minutes later, Sylvie hung up the phone.
"Ren, your teacher will come here at 04:00 pm. Make sure you don’t be late." Sylvie said.
Ren, who was making a coffee, replied. "Alright."
